Thoughtful, Inuyasha went to school alone. His brother was on the same page, but they never went together. Either Sesshomaru was ashamed or it was something else, Inuyasha didn't want to ask. He didn't care, he was used to being alone. The half demon approached his school. Protected from view, some were smoking in front of the entrance gate. Now he stepped through the gate and stood, as always, in a corner.
The would-be gangsters who were now entering the school yard looked around searchingly. Inuyasha knew what they were looking for. Him. Almost every morning they beat him up, threw insults on his head, and sometimes they hit him. He didn't defend himself, he didn't want to attract attention. Above all, he didn't want Sesshomaru to notice. What would his brother think? What a weak he was? No, he didn't want that. So he was silent and Hiroki, Daiki and Yutaka did the same. They were all afraid of his demonic half-brother.
Hiroki, the leader of the gang, sauntered over. "Well, you no good. What did you do on the weekend? You were probably sitting alone at home and yelled at your mother? Uuuuuh Mamii, the boys were wicked to me! Wuhää," he said and turned to his friends, so that they were on his shoulder knocked for his grandiose joke. Yutaka now stood in front of Inuyasha and bumped into him. "You don't have a tongue, what? Well, such a freak didn't deserve it either." Now she surrounded him and Daiki, who hadn't said anything until now, hit him in the stomach with his fist. Inuyasha made a gagging sound and doubled over. The three laughed and haunted him appraisingly. "Can't even defend yourself, huh? You weakling! You have no friends! Have you not even thought of suicide? Then you save us all the sight!" Daiki hit him again and the other two joined in.They haunted and kicked him while Inuyasha let it go in silence. He was used to it. The half demon curled up and slowly went black before his eyes.
Kagome dragged himself slowly across the school yard. Sango was sick today and she came to school alone. Miroku lived on the other end of town, so she couldn't go with him. The girl looked around, maybe she might see others in her class. Wait a minute, wasn't that the corner Inuyasha always stood in? She took a closer look and saw him on the floor. "Oh my god, he's not moving!" She called and ran as fast as she could. "Inuyasha! Inuyasha!" She shouted from afar. Most of the students turned to see what was going on. Breathing heavily, she reached him and dropped to the floor next to him. “Inuyasha! Inuyasha!” Kagome took his face in her hands. He slowly opened his eyes. "Hey, wake up. Come on," she had tears in her eyes. Groaning, he straightened up. His clothes were dirty and a little blood ran from the corner of his mouth. He also felt his left eye swell.
"What happened?", Kagome asked worried and rummaged in her pocket for a handkerchief.
Inuyasha looked at her. If he told her something, she would surely pass it on. And in the end his brother would know about it. "Nothing," he said and took the handkerchief that Kagome held out to him.
"Now tell me what happened!" She shouted. "Who was that?"
And then he started telling her what had happened. He didn't tell her, however, that it happened almost every morning. With every word her face hardened and in the end she got up to look around. The half demon tried to do the same to her, but his body went on strike and he let himself slide back onto the floor. Kagome turned to him. "Do you need help?" She asked, amused. “Yeah, that would be nice.” Inuyasha held out his hands to her and she helped him up."Come on, I'll support you," she said and put his arm around her shoulder. He smiled thankfully, which she did not see because she looked around again.
She took him to the school building and helped him get to his class. The 10ers stood in front of their classrooms and talked over the weekend. When they saw Kagome and Inuyasha, everyone turned around in amazement. Ayame, a wolf demon from her class, ran to them. "What's going on here?" She asked while looking at Inuyasha. “What do you have to do with THAT, Kags?” Kagome was aware of the appraising tone in her voice. "I'll help him as you can see," she replied to her friend's question and went on. She brought the half demon into his class and said goodbye to him. "See you later!" She called before going out.
She set out resolutely. What did these rich snobs imagine? They would experience something! "Kagome! Kags! Hey! Stand still!" Miroku came puffing up next to her. But he had no time to rest, because Kagome stomped doggedly on. "What is it that upsets you?" Asked the monk, confused. "Hiroki, Daiki and Yutaka," she replied in response. “What about them?” He grabbed her wrist to stop her. "Look at Inuyasha! And now leave me alone, we have lessons in a moment and by then I want to have the matter done!" Kagome tore himself out of his grip and continued on because the three were in Sesshomaru's class and this lag at the end of the building.
The doorbell rang to indicate the start of class. But that didn't interest Kagome, she finally arrived before the 12th grade and entered the classroom. There wasn't a teacher yet, so everyone was still walking around and talking. When she had found the three she had been looking for all along, she pushed through tables and chairs to face them. When Hiroki, Daiki, and Yutaka saw her coming in their direction, they rubbed their hair and straightened their school uniforms."Oh, you don't have to dress up for me," she said and smiled.
"It's a must for such a pretty girl", Daiki replied, but suddenly grimaced. "Why do you smell like this - I mean like Inuyasha?" He looked around and saw Sesshomaru, who was sitting at the desk and turtling with Rin.
"Why do I smell of him? Because certain people here think they have to beat him up! Are you no longer ticking right ?! You don't have a brain? WHAT HAS HE DONE TO YOU ?!", she yelled at the trio now.
"Psst !!", they made and looked around. "I hope nobody heard that ..." Yutaka whispered to Hiroki.
"First screw up and then don't stand by it. My God you are pathetic," said Kagome appraisingly. Hiroki looked at her. "Better than being human or a mixed race!"
The girl was seething. "What do you think? You are not a better person just because you are a demon! You only feel great because you have knocked someone down! He can't help it that he is a half-demon!" Slowly she talked to herself in rage. "You are so pathetic!" She screamed now and a wave of energy threw the three against the wall. Kagome herself was not used to using her miko powers and she collapsed.
After a while she woke up again. The first thing she saw was the white ceiling. As she tried to orient herself, the demon watched her. "Higurashi?" Sesshomaru asked now. Kagome blinked and looked at him. "What am I doing in the hospital room?" - "You fell over and then I carried you here", he answered her question. "Now tell me why you turned on Hiroki, Daiki and Yutaka so stupidly? What has my brother got to do with it?"
Kagome told him what Inuyasha had told her this morning. "Well, then I came into your class and confronted you."
Sesshomaru was angry. And the right thing. What were these half-strength demons imagining?Well they would experience something, he bet his relationship with Rin on it. "Fine, thank you. Oh yeah, but don't tell Inuyasha you told me that, okay?" She thought his request was funny, but she nodded. He said goodbye to her and Kagome was alone now.
'How did I please just throw the three of them against the wall? I can't even shoot a cleansing arrow. 'She just couldn't figure it out! 'I'll just ask Grandpa at home.'
During the break, Miroku, who of course had heard of it directly, came to visit Kagome. "What kind of things are you doing!" He shouted as he entered the hospital room. Inuyasha stood behind him, who was more secure on his feet. "That was nothing," she tried to wave off. Miroku sat on the chair next to the bed while Inuyasha just stood next to him. "Nothing? You're crazy! I heard you threw her against the wall! And then the wall collapsed!" Kagome shook his head. "It wasn't that blatant either, the Traschers exaggerate again." The girl tried to get up, but she was still too weak. It had robbed her of more strength than she thought. While she was lying down again, she asked Miroku to go out, because Kagome wanted to talk to Inuyasha. "Well, I'll call Sango now, she should know about it too."
After he was outside, the half-demon sat down on the chair and looked at Kagome. "Why did you do that?" He asked now. She didn't know what to answer to that. Why did she do it? Because she felt sorry for him? Because she wanted to protect him? "I don't know," she answered honestly. "I just thought it was unfair, but now let's not make such a big deal out of it. Let's change the subject."
The two talked about God and the world. At first, Kagome noticed, he was shy but open. You could talk to him really well and be silly, because he was very humorous. The doorbell rang, announcing the end of the break. The nurse came in to send him out, but when she saw his face, she offered Inuyasha a seat next to Kagome.
After school finished, the two made their way home. Kagome was still very weak and Inuyasha actually wanted to take her to the shrine, but he was injured himself, so Miroku had to take on this role. So now he went alone. "Inuyasha!" Someone shouted behind him and he turned around in amazement. Hiroki, Daiki and Yutaka ran to him. "What?" Asked the half demon coldly. "Do you want to continue?"
"No, no. We want to apologize," said Daiki.
Inuyasha looked at the trio with even more amazement. "Oh yes?"
“Yes,” said Hiroki, “we are really sorry.” He nudged Yutaka, who then replied: “Yes, really. How can we make it up to you?”
"I'll tell you
