4. Chapter: The Ball

Kaname was about to bite her neck, but he paused. He just couldn't bite his yuuki.

"What is the matter, Kaname-senpai?" Asked the girl.

"Get out of here!" He just mumbled.

"B-but ... Okay Kaname-Senpai. But I wanted to tell you that I'm going to the ball with you.", Yuuki said and quickly ran to the door. Kaname just watched her go. He got up and called Ruka. She came up immediately and he bit her neck. She allowed it, because he was her great love. She sagged. He called Aidou and he carried her into her room. Kaname, however, stood by the window and looked out. He would love to tell Yuuki his reason, but the Pureblood was too proud for that. Yuuki ran to her room. There she met Yori.

"Yuuki-chan, what have you got?" The friend asked worriedly.

"It's nothing," she muttered, giving a fake smile.

"Really? I'm worried about you.", Yori looked at her friend. Yuuki nodded.

"But you know, I'm with Zero now.", The girl with short hair, tried to distract from the topic. It even succeeded.

"Really? That's really wonderful.", She said and grabbed Yuuki's hands. Together with her she turned in circles. When they got too dizzy, they stopped. They sat down on the beds.

"Why don't you sleep with him today?", Yori asked after a while. Yuuki turned red.

"Y-I can't do that," she just replied.

"Why?", Now Yori was curious.

"Well ... he tried.", Yuuki got quieter and quieter.

"What ... now?", Her friend looked at her. She didn't even know Zero like that. Yuuki just nodded and looked at the floor. She was embarrassed to talk about it.

"And you allowed it or did you reject it?" Yori asked after a while of silence.

"I turned him down. I'm not ready for it yet," she whispered softly.

"I can understand that.", Yori smiled at her and added:" Are you going to the ball with Zero? "

"No, I will probably go with Kaname-senpai. He asked me first." Yuuki suddenly became happy. You could hear this in her voice. Yori gave a short giggle.

"But doesn't Zero get jealous?"

"I told him and he took it that way.", Yuuki explained to her.

"Oh," she just said and they went to bed in the evening. Yori fell asleep immediately, unlike Yuuki. She couldn't sleep. She thought about Kaname and Zero. Was it right to start a relationship with Zero? What was the matter with Kaname? With these thoughts she finally fell asleep. The next morning she woke up to a knock. Yuuki opened his eyes, sat down, and stretched. Then she got up and went to the door. It was Kaname who wanted to apologize.

"Yuuki-chan. I'm sorry how I behaved.", He mumbled, as Yori was still soundly asleep. Yuuki just nodded, which meant that she would forgive him.

"What did you actually want that day?", He looked deeply into her eyes.

"I wanted to tell you that I'm going to the ball with you.", The girl smiled and her heart was racing because Kaname slowly came closer with his head. Yuuki slowly closed her eyes. Kaname realized that he was about to kiss her. So he quickly withdrew his head.

"I'm sorry, Yuuki-chan. I'll be happy if we go to the ball together.", He said and stroked her hair. She opened her eyes and nodded.

"Yes, Kaname-Senpai. Until the ball," she said and saw Kaname leave. Yuuki sighed slightly. Then she went to the rector. She actually wanted to ask if she could go into town. But he insisted that she tell everyone that the ball is today. She nodded and let everyone know. After everyone in the day class knew, she went to the moon house. Kaname who opened the door for her and looked at her."Yuuki? What are you doing here?", Kaname asked her.

"I'm supposed to tell everyone from the principal that the ball is going to take place tonight," she replied and looked deep into his eyes. This makes the vampire smile because she looked deep into his eyes. He just thought the girl was wonderful.

"Thank you, Yuuki-chan," he said with a smile. Yuuki would have loved to melt away. But she left it.

"Then I'll go now, Kaname-Senpai.", The girl muttered and turned around.

"I'm looking forward to tonight," he told her goodbye. Yuuki went to the pond and sat there. Now she looked at the pond.

>> I should go buy a dress ... <<, thought Yuuki. When she got it right, she jumped up.

"Damn it," she muttered and ran into town. There she ran into a shop and tried on clothes. She found one of the many dresses to be very beautiful. It was light purple. Yuuki bought this dress and ran back. She only had an hour left. She asked Yori to help her and of course her best friend did so immediately. They finished on time.

"Thank you, Yori. Without you I would never have finished and I wouldn't look so beautiful either.", Yuuki said with a smile.

"That was just a bit of work.", Yori giggled. Together they ran into the yard. That is where the ball took place. Only stars and the moon could be seen in the sky. It was tapped on the shoulder. So she turned around quickly and looked into a boy's face. It was zero.

"Good evening, Yuuki. You look amazing," he muttered. She just nodded. Inwardly, she had hoped it was Kaname. So she looked around. But she was too small to see over other heads.

"Who are you looking for? About this Kuran?" Asked Zero and there was jealousy in his voice. She noticed it and therefore had to smile.

"Yes, I am looking for Kaname-sama. After all, he is my company.", whispered the young girl. The boy next to her was silent. After a while another man came over. Yuuki beamed because it was her Kaname.

"Kaname-sama.", The friends in Yuuki's voice heard both boys. So Zero ran away quickly. He couldn't take it anymore.

"Good evening, Yuuki-chan. You look beautiful. Like an angel who has just descended.", Kaname took Yuuki's hand and kissed the back of the hand. This made Yuuki red like a tomato. Kaname took the girl's hand and ran to a spot that was still vacant and danced with his girl. They didn't stop until late in the evening, when Zero wanted to take Yuuki into the house.

"Can't we stay a little longer, Zero?" She asked him.

"But Yuuki ... I want to go to sleep with you now.", He whispered.

"Leave her, Kiryu-kun.", Kaname interfered.

"Shut up, Kuran-sama.", Zero growled at him. Both attacked each other.

"Stop!" Yelled Yuuki and they both looked at her.
