Ein neues Leben?
Respekt, Ruhe, Wahrheit
everyday life
"Well, now there is no one who can help you, huh?" grinning scornfully, a boy hit the black-haired girl in the stomach. Groaning, she sagged to the floor. There were loud shouts from the others who were standing around them. "Stop it! Stop it, Toki!" the girl pleaded. It was, by the looks of it, 12 or 13 years old. The boy kicked her side one more time, then he and his other pals disappeared.
The girl remained lying for a while. Silent tears ran down her cheeks. She finally stood up, trembling and sobbing. Why couldn't they leave her alone, why did they make her life hell? She staggered to a wall, wiped away her tears, and hobbled home.
The girl's name was Sorana. Her home was a home. Her parents allegedly died early and no one knew any more details. Everything about the house was gray. The walls, the floor, the furniture, even the clothes of the supervisors.
She didn't have to pay attention to the way because her feet found the way alone. Deep down she was reluctant to go back there, but Sorana knew that there was nowhere else to go.
When the girl finally arrived, she ran quickly through the large archway, through the small courtyard, up the steps of the front door and quietly disappeared up the stairs without a word, forgetting all pain. Yes, to hide the pain, to ignore the wounds, she had learned that early on.
Sorana yanked the door to her room open. A stormy breeze blew towards her, played around her hair, caressed her face and disappeared as suddenly as it had come. Sorana paused in the doorway, a little confused. Something was different than usual. But what? The bedspread was in a heap. All her books and drawings were strewn all over the little room. Here and there was garment. It was just as messy as ever.Only the window was wide open and let the cool evening air of late summer flow in.
Sorana walked slowly to the window and leaned out a little. From her room you had a good view of the city, as it was the highest room in the home. Right under the roof. It used to be a dusty junk room, but it had been expanded in the meantime. Furthermore, the whole home was on a small hill.
The city lay like a carpet before her. The last golden ray of the evening sun shone on Sorana's face. How often had she wished to be able to live in another world where she would be respected, or simply left alone. She smiled slightly and forgot about reality for a moment.
DONG! The ringing of the bell brought her back. The bell rang three times during mealtimes. As long as you had time to gather in the dining room and wait for the meal. After the bell rang, the doors were closed and those who came too late were unlucky and had to starve.
Sorana ran noiselessly down the stairs into the hall, where she quietly withdrew into a corner. You'd think that the orphans would stick together with each other, but that wasn't the case. Yuri was the self-proclaimed "leader" and, above all, did not make life easy for Sorana. Tori and Aydo were something of his henchmen. The girl had often wondered how stupid one had to be to carry out all of these orders from Yuri. Or how blind the supervisors had to be that they overlooked all the harassment from the gang.
She shook her head.
Not complaining and behaving inconspicuously, those were the rules here in the home. Anyone who revolted against Yuri or the caretaker was punished. Anyone who tried to run away came crawling back on the third day at the latest and asked to be admitted.
After dinner, Sorana went back to her room. She put paper, pens, and her drawing portfolio in a black bag. When she had packed her things, she went out of the walls.
She turned off the road and headed straight for a hill.
Here was one of her favorite places. From there you could still see a few rays of sunshine. There was a small wood nearby. The black-haired woman sat down on one of these trees. It was too dark to draw, so Sorana dangled her feet and stared at the sky. The first stars could already be seen and a huge disk shone from the sky. It was almost full moon. How much she loved the full moon. She had always felt comfortable on nights of the full moon and the moon gave her a feeling of security.
Finally she got down from the tree again. Sorana padded through the darkness and suddenly tripped over something. When the girl took a closer look at the spot, she recognized a black stone hanging on a chain.
Reluctantly she picked it up and put it in her pocket. She would take a closer look at him later.
So she went back to the home.
