Our Beloved Insanity

Cesca, Cloud and Juka were splashing in the sea. It had become too hot for them as the sun was shining mercilessly on the deck. Finn lay next to him again and dozed off. Dean let his gaze wander over the sea, endless turquoise. The sky, on the other hand, gradually covered itself with light gray, white pompons. Small gray clouds. Probably too small to conjure up rain but big enough to cast a cool shadow on the boat.
"Did they say anything about rain in the weather report?" he asked softly against Finn.
"I don't think so ..." Finn sighed and opened his eyes.
"Damn it is bright ... somehow looks like rain doesn't it?" Dean nodded.
"I agree."
"Then we should go back in a couple of hours."
"Right, not that we get wet."
"Hm. True ..."
"Have I ever told you how much I love our extensive conversations about the weather?" Dean smiled slightly.
"No I do not think so.A little smal-talk in the morning is nice. "
"It's afternoon, I think it's already three thirty."
"Oh, well, there is nothing you can do about that."
"Yes, you probably have to put up with that." Dean laughed. Despite the age difference, the two got along brilliantly.
When Cesca got back on the boat, however, their confused smal-talk came to an abrupt end.
"Do you want tea too?" she held a large silver thermos in her hands and beamed at them expectantly.
"Hm ... it depends what kind of tea it is." Dean half turned his head and smiled at the black-haired one.
"Raspberry peppermint with a hint of vanilla. Tastes great."
"Sure, pour me something."

Half an hour later, Juka, Cloud and Mia came out of the water too. The temperature had suddenly dropped, the sun was covered by a thick layer of gray cloud. The wind whistled around the boat and made the still wet girls tremble.
"Damn ... why is that suddenly so cold !?" Juka pulled her towel closer around her shoulders and wrapped her arms around her body.
"But it doesn't start to rain ... does it?" Mia took a warm cup of tea from Cesca thanks. The boat swayed a lot on the rising waves.
"And who cares, we're not made of sugar!" the smile couldn't be got out of her face.
"Maybe we should go back before we capsize." Finn pushed Juka into the small control cabin. Just as she put the key in the ignition, it started to rain. The cold, heavy drops hit the heads of the small group hard and mercilessly. Mia suppressed a torrent of curses.

“Great, if only you hadn't said anything!” Cesca groaned in annoyance and hurried to pack the picnic basket together again before everything was dripping with water. Mia and Dean helped her quickly. Meanwhile, Cloud preferred to put on dry clothes."Damn it, but also! Why doesn't it start !?" Juka pounded furiously on the controls when the boat's engine just sputtered instead of purring like a kitten.
"Better stop it, or you'll break your fingers." Finn held her hand tight as she reached out to strike again.
"You're right ... but if the damn thing doesn't start soon, I'll have to kill someone." she gritted her teeth and turned the key in the ignition again. But this time too, the engine didn't want to give anything more than a tired stutter.
"Finn, please tell me what I'm doing wrong."
"I have no idea, but I think something's wrong with the engine." Finn shrugged.
"What's going on? Why aren't we driving?" Mia stuck her head in the door.
"The engine won't start ..." Juka cursed softly. "How do you look outside?"
“Some storm is brewing.” Mia shrugged her shoulders.
"Damn it. It doesn't exist, that would have been in the news!"

While the three discussed the weather report in the small cabin, Dean, Cloud and Cesca had to be careful not to fall over the railing. The boat swayed in the sharp wind and threw the three from one corner to the other. Cesca and Cloud clung to each other and Krischen competed.

“Come here!” Dean shouted through the rain and gave them both his hand.
“Let's go in!” Cesca clung to his right arm and Cloud to his left arm. They staggered together in the direction of the cabin.
The door popped open in front of them and Juka stepped out. She had put on her shorts over the bikini so as not to freeze anymore, but after two seconds the heavy material was already oozing and she was freezing again.
“What's going on?” Cesca had to scream to be understood.
"The engine won't start! We have to do something!" Juka pushed the three of them through the door and followed them quickly. It was cramped in the small cabin, but at least it was dry.

“What do we do now?” Mia's voice became shrill and slightly panicked.
"We'll talk to the coast guard first. Make way ..." Juka pushed Finn aside and knelt in front of the radio that was on the ground.
"And what do we do if you can't help us?" Mia spoke more quietly because she didn't want to disturb Juka, but her voice was still high-pitched. Nobody could answer her.
"Tell me what ... we have to do something."
"At most we can wait for the coast guard and hope we don't capsize." it came dry from Dean.
"He's right, that's all we can do ..." Cesca sighed softly.
"But, we have to be able to do something ..." Cloud grimaced, her smile gone.
“Yes, wait and see and drink tea.” Cesca lifted the thermos, which she had saved from the raging sea at the risk of her life, and poured herself a mug. Juka jumped up and kicked the radio angrily.
“You'll break something today if you continue like this!” Finn pulled her away from the small gray box and looked at her reproachfully.
"I don't get an answer ... they don't react." Juka cast his rueful look at the floor. The mood fluctuated along with the boat. The faint hopes they had made drowned in the cold gray water.
"That ... what does that mean? What do we do now?" Cesca clenched her fingers around her mug and tried to get a clear sentence out.
"I don't know. Sorry ... I have no idea what to do now." Juka swallowed hard. A crushing weight spread in the small cabin and pressed the inevitable reality into the head of each individual.
"Are we going to capsize now ... or something?" Dean had to hold on to one of the shelves to avoid flying across the small room.
“No, definitely not.” Juka stepped towards the steering wheel, a challenging twinkle in her eyes."We will probably not go under without a fight."
"... what are you talking about?" Mia gave her a perplexed look from the side.
"I'm sorry, but I won't wait for us to capsize." she tried to counteract the strong swaying.
"And ... what should we do? We can't just watch you." Dean still clung to the shelf.

"You can make everything clear outside ... you and Finn should go."
"Well, come with me." Dean carefully shimmy to the door.
“Can you handle this too?” Finn gave the girls another worried look before Cesca tossed him out of the cabin. After ten minutes, the two came back into the cabin, dripping wet.

"So? How's it going?" Cesca raised an eyebrow in tension.
"Well ... dark, wet and stormy." Dean scratched the back of his head awkwardly. You could literally grasp the depressed mood in the cabin. Juka was still at the wheel, doing her best. Mia was sitting next to Cloud on the floor, Cloud had his arm around Mia's shoulders. Cesca knelt on the floor next to Juka and turned a dial on the radio.
“Is the storm bad ...?” Juka stared through the glass.
"... yes, it has gotten worse." Almost as if called, lightning flashed through the black sky, followed closely by a roaring clap of thunder.
"Folks, I'm scared ... I don't want to die." Cesca sounded outraged.
"We're not going to die. Don't worry." Cloud smiled weakly. Finn started to laugh and earned perplexed looks from his friends.
"... Sorry. I start laughing when I'm nervous." He cleared his throat briefly
Another lightning bolt broke the darkness, followed closely by three more. Dean involuntarily winced, screwed up his eyes and prepared for the deafening thunder. But he stayed away. Slowly he opened his eyes, but he had to hold his hand in front of his face in order not to be blinded.“What is that !?” Mia's shrill, panicked voice broke through the silent and glaring light.
"Are you okay?" Juka held her hand over her eyes like Dean so as not to be blinded. It was completely calm. No sound could be heard, the sea seemed like death. The bright white light seemed to come out of nowhere.
"I'm fine ... Cloud, Mia, Cesca, Dean, are you still alive?" Finn was no different from Dean and Juka.
"I'm still alive ..." Cesca narrowed her eyes.
"Me too. So we ... well, Mia and me." Clouds' voice was trembling slightly.
"I'm still alive ... folks, what is that? Where does the light come from !?" Dean was starting to panic.
"Maybe it's a rescue helicopter?" suggested Mia.
"Definitely not. Damn it, what's that!" The light grew brighter and a deafening loud thunder boomed in the group's ears. It was louder than normal thunder, it sounded more like an explosion or something like that. There was silence in the cabin. Nobody dared to say anything.

The boat swayed again. This time stronger than before, as if it had been hit by a huge stone wave. Juka tried to keep herself on her feet as best she could, but her legs gave out and she fell to the ground. She grabbed the arm of one of her friends and next to her ear someone groaned in agony, she heard Cescas voice out. But before she could say anything, her eyes went black. She lost consciousness and slips into a deep black swoon.

Dean felt the same, but he was able to stay conscious longer. His eyes were still wide open when he bumped into Finn and brought him to the ground. He swore softly and choked next to him, Dean also wanted to say something but he couldn't bring himself out. He would have loved to curse his soul or just like to scream until his throat burned. But he couldn't utter a sound. Then, not a second later, he was gripped by a tremendous amount of fatigue. The bright white
