Bloody snow
Sakons Pov
It was so cold, so terribly cold. I was still lying in the snow and didn't know what to do. The only thing I felt was the bitter cold and the pain that literally pierced my body. I felt dizzy and wanted to sleep most of all. My clothes were soaked and my shoelaces were frozen to my shoes. I didn't know exactly how long I had been there, but it felt like an eternity.
Where was I actually? I couldn't remember. I was so exhausted and wanted to sleep, but I knew if I slept now I would die. What happened? How long have I been here? And why did I feel this throbbing pain in my hands and stomach? There were so many questions and no answers. Where was my brother Was he dead? The only thing I noticed was this pain, the cold and the fact that I could no longer feel my limbs.
Exhaustion drove me to the edge of my clear mind. I was so drained that I couldn't even speak. It was hard for me to breathe and I knew I would freeze to death if no one found me. I just managed to turn my head. I looked at my hands and found that they were soaking the snow a bright red. I would rather bleed to death than freeze to death. I didn't know what my stomach looked like. Maybe he was bleeding too? After all, that was the only explanation for the pain.
The pain was almost unbearable, especially at this point in time I wouldn't have wanted to do anything more ardent than just screaming. Hoping someone would hear me. But it was unlikely. Far and wide there was no house, no village and no human soul. The injuries drained my strength, and slowly it became difficult for me to keep my eyes open. As I was about to close my eyes, I could hear faint footsteps.I could see someone a little blurry. I couldn't identify whether it was a man or a woman. My strength was running out and my eyes closed.
Slowly I noticed how warm I was and I could feel my legs again. I opened my eyes and looked into an empty room. When I tried to sit up I gave a short scream. I fell back. “Wake up at last?” Startled, I winced. Where did she come from? From the sound of the voice I recognized that it was a woman. She had a beautiful voice so comforting with that lovely undertone. "You had very bad injuries, what were you doing there?" Dazed, I looked in another direction. “Ahhh!” An almost silent scream escaped my throat. "Take that! You'll feel better then" She put a glass of water and a pill next to the bed for me. Could I trust her? “What is that?” I asked suspiciously.
“That's a pain pill!” Now the question was; did she tell me the truth? I wasn't sure about that. But the question of where is my brother bothered me even more. Was he still alive? And what about Tayuya and the others? Maybe she was dead! I was shocked at the thought and found myself in the snow. Was that what I imagined? Or did I dream? I looked briefly at my hands. It was a dream! I was surprised that I did not die in the meantime, apparently I had not slept deeply and, above all, not long enough. Again that throbbing pain just didn't wake up. I saw that the snow next to me was covered in blood.
I certainly didn't have much more time to live. I slowly closed my eyes again. "Sakon !?" A voice calling my name, was that also a dream? She looked so familiar to me. I couldn't turn my head anymore, no strength. I felt a slight jolt, was I being carried? “Don't sleep!” With the last of my strength I opened my eyes one last time, I looked into my brother's face.I wanted to ask about Tayuya and the others if he knew something about it, but I couldn't get a single word out. Ukon took me to a hut in the forest, not exactly stable, but it served its purpose. He wrapped me in his jacket and laid me on blankets that were on the floor. From his pockets he dug a bandage which he now wrapped around my stomach. With a little cloth from his sweater, he dabbed the blood from my hands. “Did you find him?” I heard a familiar voice while I lay motionless on the floor. Ta .... yuya? "I didn't get the name out in one piece, but it was a start.
"Don't speak! Rest!" Relief. She lived! She stroked my hair and smiled gently. I got a little kiss on the forehead after which she breathed something in my ear: "I love you Sakon!" A small smile formed on my lips, I didn't have to say it, I think she already knew that I loved her.
