The island of the curse
1st chapter
Zoé is a 16 year old girl, she lives with her mother Clarissa and her two sisters Linn and Lyra, who are 14 year old twins, in Arbon am See. If Zoé described herself as she would say she was not a particularly pretty girl (because the others in her class had told her that) with long black hair and blue eyes. But I prefer to describe her myself, Zoé is a very pretty shy girl with long, shiny, black curls that highlight her bright blue eyes very firmly. She is slim and tall, so she also has a narrow face. With a sweet snub nose. Her two sisters Linn, who is 2 minutes older, and Lyra have blonde straight hair like her mother Clarissa and the same big, bright blue eyes as Zoé. They too are tall and slim, which they inherited from their father Jean-Pierre, who is one meter and ninety-eight centimeters tall. Her parents are divorced and Jean-Pierre lives in Holland. That the three siblings still see their father from time to time, they always spend their holidays with him.
Zoé attends the canton school at Burggraben. She was currently doing maths, but she could no longer concentrate because the summer vacation began in two lessons and she would spend the entire five weeks in Holland with her father. Zoé was just imagining what she was going to do "when I arrive I'll go straight to the beach to see how warm it is", but she didn't get any further because the teacher tore her out of her thoughts "Zoé can you give me the solution for task number five? "Of course Zoé didn't know the answer, but before she could stammer an excuse, the school bell rang and she didn't have to answer any more. The last lesson flew by as they watched the film "An Inconvenient Truth" come to an end. She ran out of the schoolhouse, she was not particularly popular because her classmates were jealous of her because she is so beautiful and can draw the best of the whole class - you have to know she chose artistic design as a difficult subject - that's why she had to just say goodbye to her best colleague Helena.Helena is a normal-grown teenager with golden brown locks that she wears short, which makes her look cheeky. She has a petite face with large, lightly made-up, gold-green eyes. Zoé gave her a short hug, then gave her a quick kiss on the cheek to say goodbye, she was the only one who would miss Zoé in her five weeks stay in Holland. She turned back to her and waved, it was hard for her to just leave her like that. But she wanted to get on the bus as quickly as possible. When they got home, Zoé immediately started packing, because they wanted to leave the next morning.
Linn got up at five in the morning, Lyra and Zoé freshened up quickly, at least as good as it could be so early in the morning. A little later they got on the train with their heavy suitcases, Linn and Lyra tried to fend off the kiss goodbye from their mother when they finally got out of the embrace, they drove to Zurich Airport. The train ride was pretty uncomfortable as the train was pretty full they couldn't sit down. So they had to take a seat on their suitcases, since they were right in front of the entrance and exit, they had to pack their suitcases at each stop to let people out and then get back on. They were so happy when a voice announced "next stop at Zurich Airport", the three dragged themselves from the train to the next bank. They were happy to finally get off the stuffy and cramped train. The siblings passed through customs and controls without any further ado. When they sat on the plane, tiredness overcame them and the three siblings fell into a deep sleep until the sweet voice of the stewardess suddenly woke them up. It was a little woman dressed in uniform, with a round head. Brown hair framed her face, the almond-colored eyes were a little too far on the edge of the face because she had a very broad nose.In a friendly voice, she asked the three of them, "Is it so good for you to get out, because we have arrived in Amsterdam and would like to clean the flying machine." They jumped up, frightened, they hadn't noticed that they had already landed. They quickly packed their hand luggage and left the plane with a red head, mumbling an apology. Her suitcases were the last to roll on the conveyor belt. They grabbed it and headed for the exit. They decided not to tell their parents about it, because then they would say they should have gone to bed earlier, then that would not have happened. They hated it when their parents gave them advice in that reproachful voice.
When they stepped out of the airport building, they called a taxi. The weather was pleasantly warm, the sun, which had not risen long ago, was shining with all its might. There was a little breeze blowing, which lowered the temperature and just made it pleasant. They loaded their luggage into the taxi, the chauffeur made no move to help them, so they heaved their heavy luggage into the trunk themselves. Zoé got in the front because she was the only one of the three who spoke fluent Dutch, the two younger ones took a seat in the back seat. The driver pressed the accelerator, the siblings were pushed into their seats by the force of the start-up. The taxi driver was a coarse man with black, short-cropped, frizzy hair. His eyes were almost black in color. He pressed his mouth so tightly together that it was a single line, and above it his nose looked big and crooked. It was a terrible ride as it threw her back and forth at every turn. Glad he stopped, they jumped out of the car and lifted their suitcases out of the taxi. Zoé put a few euro notes in his hand, he counted them exactly and then raced away at the same pace as before. From where they were dumped, it wasn't far to their father's house. All they had to do was take a path that meandered through a small birch forest and then they were finally at their destination. The path was too narrow for a car to drive over. Last time it wasn't even tarred so they had to carry their suitcases. That had changed, now it was tarred and they could tackle the last part comfortably.
