Fanfic: Divided Blood

was shocked: That was the reason why he held my hand so often. He smiled. “Don't worry, I can only hear the thoughts you are thinking at the time I touch them.” His eyes tightened. "Also, like a vampire, I cannot produce my own blood and have to" borrow "it."
"Borrow?" I asked stupidly, causing his head to drop. Now I understood what he meant by that. On a website, on which I ended up in the internet cafe of our school, there were a few facts about various mythical creatures and of course vampires were also there. That was the only reason vampires needed blood: they just can't make their own blood cells. I kept digging. “Can't you transform her?” He shook his head.
"My poison is too weak to transform someone. But I only drink with her because she's the only one who has the strength to stop me." He looked up at me.
I looked at my hands and found that I was shaking, very badly. Ann took my hands and whispered:
"We won't hurt you ..."
"I know," I replied quietly. But when Strike howled in front of me, the cold ran down my spine.
"It's good!" Kyle shouted, putting on his shoes and walking to the door. "Are you coming with me?" He said to me. I followed him a little hesitantly. He closed the door behind me and then walked down the empty city street beside me. I noticed that he strictly avoided touching my hand.
"Do you like your mother?" I asked softly. He smiled, which didn't really match his answer.
"Would it answer your question if I said that she gave me what I wouldn't even wish for my worst enemy?" I nodded.
"But she's still your mother."
"A mother like that can really stay stolen from me."
"But if you hadn't become a vampire, you couldn't read minds, could you?"
"First, I'm only a half-vampire, and second, I could do without it."
“Are you two the only vampires in this area?” I looked at him intently.
"Vampires, yes. Filthy blood, no."
“So aren't we the only ones?” Saying us instead of her struck me as strange, as if I was already one of them.
"There are quite a few now, you know. In fact, almost all of the people I hang out with are filthy blood."
“Are Liss and Tucker any too?” Kyle nodded, laughing. You could tell that he liked to tell me.
“Holmes said Liss was a music expert, didn't he?” I nodded. "That's because she specializes in sonic. Or let's take Tucker. Why does he keep staring at you so strangely?
"He can see through my clothes ?!" I got out of panic. Kyle laughed out loud.
"No, luckily not. He can only see the skeleton under the skin. He just stares like that because he always looks carefully at the bones and checks them. I don't know what fascinates him about it." He shook with a laugh the head. It was weird because the worries of my last days were suddenly blown away.
"And Holmes and Sara?"
"Cornelius has something very special, that doesn't happen every day. He can see the past, which is very helpful in his job as a school reporter. And Sara is not dirty blood, she is a completely normal person."
“Does she know about you?” Kyle nodded.
"Sure! Your parents are both wolf people."
"Wow ..." I managed to say, fascinatingly.“You can say that out loud.” Our conversation was about to end. I looked out into the street and saw a pair of tall buildings in the distance. Except for a black-haired girl with a dog, the street was deserted.
I took a closer look and saw that the girl was walking towards us. And when the girl was closer, I saw her: it was Ayumi! I excitedly picked up my long necklace with the pendant.
Next to Ayumi was a black dog, or rather a bitch, judging by the walk. It was all black and only had a blond-white stain around the eye. Ayumi walked past me and looked at both of us alternately, but then her gaze stopped on me. I felt that she would like to tear me to pieces if she could.
I thought she passed us, but then she called:
“Sheela! Come on now! Bad dog!” Me and Kyle stopped and turned around and saw how the dog yanked Ayumi in our direction and Ayumi couldn't do anything about it.
"Shall we .." I started, but she interrupted me.
"No! Just stay away from me!"
“Come on with Takara.” Kyle put his arm around me and pulled me towards town. I wondered if Ayumi managed to take the dog away and tried to turn around, but Kyle stopped me. He laughed.
"Funny. Screaming sounds just like you."
“Really?” I hadn't even noticed.
"But totally. Like a good copy." I tried to picture Ayumi's voice again in my head, but something interrupted me.
"Takara!" I heard Liss call from afar. I looked up to see her and Tucker waving wildly at us. Strike ran up to her with a loud bark and knocked Tucker down. Liss laughed out loud and now you could tell that something was not normal, because her laugh was so loud, as if she was honking my ear.
“Take that crazy mutt off of me!” Tucker yelled as if Strike was trying to feed him. But Kyle didn't wait long and immediately ran towards Tucker. While they were trying to get Strike off Tucker, Liss ran over to me and gave me a hug. She whispered softly:
"Has he already told you about us?"
"What do you think?"
"Well, you know ... that with the powers."
“Oh, that's what you meant.” I tried to manage a smile. "Yes, he told me."
“Great!” She tugged at my hand. "We meet a few others at the lake. It would be nice if you could keep us company." I noticed that she said it extra loudly.
"And Kyle?"
"He and Tucker still have something to do. Come on, let's take Strike and go." I followed her to Kyle and Tucker, who were both standing again by now. Tucker turned and called:
"Come on Milky Face, we're late!" Kyle turned to me:
“Aren't you afraid of staying alone?” The word alone echoed in my head.
"I have Liss." He smiled.
"Well then.Liss will get you home in time. Take care! "He ran after Tucker. Liss let out a sigh of relief.
"Well, finally they're gone. Come on, let's go shopping." I was confused.
"I thought we'd meet a few others at the lake?" Liss whispered:
"I only said that to give Kyle peace of mind. He would never leave you alone with me in his life. After all, you're kind of a little sister to him."
"But I don't have any money with me."
“I did.” She leaned in front of Strike. “And you're not going to give anything away, are you?” Strike barked as if he understood everything. She turned back to me. "You see, even Strike likes the idea. So come on." She took my hand and we went into town.
In the center of the city it was very different. Not the steady green I'd seen for the past few weeks. The streets were full of all sorts of people. It was fascinating for me to look at them all. I really cleared my head.
The rest of the day, I and Liss went through the different shops trying on things. I enjoyed looking at myself in different clothes in the mirror. Liss also told me something about her family. Her father was a musician and went on tour in his prime, but unfortunately the big career didn't work out, but he still performs in various bars. Her mom made music too, very good music too, because she traveled the country a lot and Liss saw her far too rarely. Both were human, of course, I noticed that. And they knew about Liss' incredible abilities, but couldn't explain it and decided to keep it a secret, which Liss had no problems with.
While Liss was trying on black jeans in an overpriced shop, I sat on a waiting chair.
"Well? What do you say?" She stormed out of the cabin and wiggled her bum in front of the mirror.
"Super." My enthusiasm sounded very fake, which it was because I was struggling with my thoughts that seemed to be winning. Liss sat down in front of me, which reminded me a lot of someone and triggered a strong, caring burning sensation in me, which is quite often defined as fear.
"What's going on?" She asked gently, placing her warm hands on mine. I realized I was shaking and when I didn't answer, she asked again. “Is it Kyle?” I nodded softly, because I just couldn't lie to her, I couldn't bring myself to believe. Liss sat down on an armchair next to me. "He won't hurt you, don't worry."
"But it's so fast! A couple of weeks ago I was wandering around in the forest without a single memory, Kyle was like an angel to me who had freed me from this nightmare and now? Although I've only known for a few hours I can't look at who he is, I can't look him in the face because I keep thinking about the way he was looking at me.Those cold, red eyes ... And Kyle ... I don't know how long I can bear the thought of living with a monster! And that I belong to these monsters! "I reconsidered everything I had said and realized that it was pure truth, but worded very harshly. Liss looked at me sympathetically.
"I can understand why Kyle scares you. When I saw the red eyes of a vampire for the first time, I wanted to run away, but couldn't. My legs no longer obeyed me." I looked at her questioningly.
"You ... have seen a vampire before."
“If I told you this story now, Kyle will kill me. But the point is, Kyle is still human.” Those words set a fuse in me that made me realize the danger I was in all the time, but Kyle didn't do anything to me. “And what is your ability?” She tried to give me other thoughts.
"I dont know."
"Hmm ... But you must be very strong." She got up and I looked up at her. “When one is close to you, one thinks that one is about to be literally struck by an energy.” She went back to the mirror and looked at herself again.
“How many filthy bloods are there in our school.” She was still looking at herself.
"About six to seven."
"Are they all students?"
"No, one is a teacher. Mr. Mauren, our chemistry teacher."
"Mr. Mauren is dirty blood?" I yelled, quickly covering my mouth with my hand. Luckily we were almost alone in the shop and the saleswoman didn't pay any attention to us.
"Yeah, but I don't know what kind of ability he has. Nobody knows.
