When Ryu opened her eyes, she saw her brother's beaming face.

she muttered drowsy. Kai laughed as she sat up, looked around, and opened her eyes

When they were full on the floor after dinner, Kai kept teasing, while Rin just listened with a grin

"We're not on a training trip for nothing!"

She had already fallen asleep in her brother's arms.



Gai's team hadn't gotten very far. Wind and weather made their journey difficult and still did. At the moment the four were sitting in a cold and wet cave around a scant fire. Outside there was a hail of grain the size of a fist.
