“Sensei, sensei!” “What is it, Akari?” The seventh generation Hokage looks at his student. It has grown quite a bit over the past 6 years, but has hardly changed otherwise. Like every time he looks at the twelve year old, he is painfully aware how much she resembles Hikari. Sometimes it's hard to believe they aren't related. Not infrequently, their behavior is exactly like Hikaris.
“Come quickly.” Naruto Uzumaki rises from the armchair and leaves the Hokagen office with his student. Although Akari is already Jo-Nin, she still trains regularly with the 'Team Naruto'. The two arrive at the training ground, where they are impatiently awaited by the other two members.
On the one hand, there is Tatsu Konami, who has always accompanied the Yumeri in the academy. He's now twelve and his tousled blonde mane comes astonishingly close to the Hokagen's hairstyle. He doesn't have to train in a team either, because he's already a member of the Konoha ANBU unit.
The third team member is Shinmaru Kuori. Just like Akari, he is Jo-Nin.
"So what's up now?" Asks Naruto with a smile. "We finally made it!" His three protégés tell him excitedly. The 18-year-old can watch in amazement as they conjure up shadow doubles and perform one of his favorite jutsu.
The Rasengan.
“That's really great, really now!” He pauses for a moment, he has resumed his old habit for the first time in a few years.
"Actually, I wanted to tell you beforehand, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I've assigned us a mission again. It's been a long time since I was able to fight again, stupid paperwork, now I know why Baa-chan himself always pressed before it ... Anyway, it's just a C-rank mission, I didn't have anything else. "
The three young ninjas look at their teacher expectantly. "What is it exactly?"
"It's about escorting two girls, Rin and Marine, to Konoha. Rin is the feudal lord's daughter and therefore needs special protection. Marine is a former Nuke-Nin, and now her best friend. They want to vacation here." The ninjas nod to show that they understand. "When do we start, sensei?" Shouts Tatsu excitedly. With every mission he is as excited as if it was his first. "Right now, we'll meet at the main gate in 15 minutes, hurry up with your packing."
Tatsu and Akari have already disappeared the next moment, but Shinmaru approaches the earlier Chaosninja. He waves him down conspiratorially.
"Hey sensei, do you already know? Kari and Konami are walking together!" Naruto sees the boy grinning before he also disappears with a 'pouf'. Once again the Hokage has to think of his girlfriend, she still hurts him a lot, but luckily he can still see her.The blonde is on his way to Ichirakus.
He wants to have a quick serving of ramen before the mission. While he is sneezing a steaming noodle soup, the Hokage lingers on his thoughts. A lot had happened in the past few years. He had been made head of the village two years ago, at sixteen, and a sensei a few months ago. Sometimes he felt lonely, but there was something that had helped him a lot.
Hikari had given him a special jutsu while they were both teaching at the academy. She had developed it herself but never used it. His girlfriend had called it the 'Jutsu of familiar souls' because, unlike that of the familiar spirit, no animals were called, but deceased people who had been close to you. Depending on how much chakra one used, the person appeared in ghost form or as a completely materialized person. He'd called Hikari many times, and he'd been amazed that she was aging with him. She had become a beautiful young woman.
Naruto pays for his meal and rushes to the meeting point. While eating, the young man once again forgot the time.
"Gomen, gomen, I still had something important to do ...", he apologizes from afar. He can already see Tatsu, Akari with Vulona and Shinmaru.
The latter calls out to him cheekily: "What important? Eat ramen, for example? You still have sauce on your mouth!"
Embarrassed, the Hokage scratches his head and only a short time later the team sets off on their mission.
