Naruto, myself and Vulona arrived at the training ground. Just like the day before, Sasuke and Sakura were already there. Only there was no trace of Kakashi-sensei, as was usual. Except for the Hokage, Sensei, Onee-san, me and of course the Akatsukis, nobody knew about yesterday's incident. Neither our two teammates. As we found out after Itachi and the rest had left, the former had been using a genjutsu, so no one like B. the ANBU heard something of their visit. Unsure whether we should tell them, we were silent for the time being. I seemed to have been slightly absent because I was quite shocked when something tugged on my pant leg. "Kari-neechan.", The little vixen noticed. "Oh, sister," I mumbled again, slightly absent. “You shouldn't ponder so much.” It comes reprovingly from below. I bend down and, as I often do, pick her up on my arm. "Say what interests me- why do you call her," the blonde pointed to the fur ball on my arm. "Always sister?" "Well, Naruto, you know what it is about me and Vulona-san, that is one reason, another is that we have experienced so much together that we trust each other blindly. For his circumstances, our Sensei came early too, only 1 hour late. He glanced at me and Naruto before opening the training session with his usual excuse. We should repeat the chakra control, boring as Sasuke said, but something completely new to me. I had never trained anything like this before. Vulona also watched the goings-on, but held back elegantly. Unnoticed, the Hatake peered over at me through his book. "Hey, Kari what are you waiting for? Come on, it's not that difficult.", The blonde called cheerfully over to me. Sakura silently adored Sasuke, who was doing throwing training on some trees from the water. Since no one else seemed to be taking notes from me, I gave it a try.
First one foot, then the other. Whenever I threatened to sink because I was concentrating too much or too little, I tried to balance it out so as not to plunge into the cool waters. Naruto eyed me with interest. Every now and then he giggled at the strained expression on my face, which I didn't notice. We snorted back into the air, but unlike me, Vulona couldn't swim.
Paddling wildly, my partner tried to stay on the surface, with moderate success. Admittedly, I've never been the fastest swimmer, but if you have to get by with kisame for years, you have a good training.
In a slight panic, I swam as fast as I could to Vulona and at the same time tried to save her from drowning and at the same time to stay afloat myself. Finally life came into the others and sakura awoke from their rigidity. Still, Kakashi-sensei was the first to come to my aid. He hurried to pull me up and so did the vixen. Only a little later I was lying on the bank, and I was leaning over my sister. "Onee-san, are you okay?" "Yes.", Came the extremely short answer. "Sorry, I messed up your chakra circuit, sister.", She smiled, embarrassed. I waved it off and turned to our rescuer. "Arigatou, Kakashi-sensei."
Without responding to my thanks, he stated: "So your Charkran networks are connected, interesting. I wonder which seal was used." I wasn't sure whether he had talked to me or to himself, so I just kept silent.
A drop of water ran down my face, astonished I followed its course with my eyes. Now I noticed that I was trembling. The cold wind on my damp skin made me shiver.
As if out of nowhere, something warm lay over my shoulders. A broadly grinning Naruto stood behind me, and had taken off his overall jacket. This was now hanging over my back. “You should change your clothes, Kari.” I just nodded. "Tell me, where do you actually have your clothes? Your backpack was empty." "Because I had Vulona-oneesan in it, there was no more room for that ..." "That's a problem ... or not." Before I could ask what the blonde meant by that, he had already grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the exit of the square. "We'll be right back," he just called over his shoulder before pulling me back to his apartment. The vixen stayed with the rest of the team.
Naruto let go of my arm in the hallway and disappeared into his room. I stood undecided until the blonde boy called me from his room. I quickly went to him and looked a little confused at the clothes he was holding out to me. It consisted of blue ninja pants, a mesh shirt, ninja shoes, and a black t-shirt with a red swirl on it. "When we came to the ninja academy, everyone bought a shirt, shoes and pants, but most of them still wear their own clothes," he explained. "The shirt is from my own inventory, it is older, but it should fit you." A little taken by surprise, I took the things from him and thanked him."You know where to find hand towels, I'll wait in the kitchen."
I quickly slipped on the clothes in the bathroom and luckily they fit. I dried my hair poorly and left his apartment with the waiting Naruto. As soon as I got to the training ground, my big sister ran towards me. "Kari-neechan. We're supposed to go to the Hokage!" "We?" "Yes, the whole team 7. Come on, we're waiting."
After a short inspection of Sakura, Kakashi-sensei and Sasuke, who raised an eyebrow at the sight of me, we made our way to the Hokag Tower. This time I had a less bad feeling in my stomach.
“There you are at last, why did it take you so long?” Our team leader briefly explained the previous situation, and the Hokage also took a closer look at my clothes. It felt like she was trying to hold back a grin. "Well, I called you here because I have a mission for you."
