“We're there.” Jack said and Alissa nodded slightly. "Do you live here?" she asked, already knowing the answer. After all, she had grown up in this house. She was really happy to finally be here again. This place no longer existed in her time. "Yes I think so!" Jack said slightly sarcastically and parked the car in the driveway. "Of course. Stupid question." Alissa muttered apologetically and looked pleased at the house. What will it look like? After all, she only knew it from her time. And what it had looked like before her, she couldn’t have known. After Jack had parked the car, the two of them left it and Jack led the way to the front door. Alissa followed intently and looked around. "You really have a great time here," she said and Jack just nodded. The door opened quickly and they entered the house. Unfortunately, the young woman couldn't quite hold back her curiosity, so she looked around with great interest. “Wow, I like it.” She said and immediately felt at home, which wasn't really surprising either. "What do you want to eat?" Jack asked and went into the kitchen to get some brochures from various delivery services. After all, it was quite a while ago that he had been shopping for the last time. "Um ... it depends what you have there Colonel." Alissa said with a grin and stood in the door frame of the kitchen. "But ... I think a purchase would be quite appropriate." She said then and looked at Jack waiting.
This, however, looked at her slightly blankly. Why should he go shopping now when he had to go to a mission tomorrow? Besides, he didn't even know how long it would take, so there was no need to go shopping. Ordering was enough. "I don't know how you see it, but if I'm on a mission again tomorrow, why go shopping ?!" he asked therefore directly and Alissa rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, I already know." She said sarcastically and sighed. "A full refrigerator has never harmed anyone. On the contrary. And besides, the food and all the other stuff will probably keep longer than 3-5 days. Have you ever been shopping recently?" she looked questioningly at her dad and he was visibly surprised that she was worried about whether his refrigerator was full or empty. "Give me a good reason why I should go shopping now. I would also have to take you with me because General Hammond said I should make sure that you don't do anything stupid and don't get stupid thoughts." Jack said now and looked at Alissa expectantly .
Jack let his words go through his head. "Hm. I could cook dinner," she suggested and Jack looked at her skeptically. "And what kind of poison do I have to expect?" the Colonel asked and Alissa grinned broadly."So I personally prefer the well-known rat poison. But since I have no interest in killing you or anything else, you can rest assured." Well, she had inherited stubbornness from her father and did not give up so quickly. Jack had to notice the latter as well, but he certainly wouldn't think so without further thought.
"Okay, now we have bread, cheese, sausage ... butter ... jam ... and bananas." Alissa said and looked at Jack. Well, her stubbornness had won and she had been able to convince him to go shopping. "We'd better have a few more cans of vegetables and ready-made meals," she said and Jack sighed slightly. "Grilled meat." Jack said and Alissa nodded slightly. "Good. We would then need pasta and other things." She said with a grin and the two had quickly bought the rest.
Jack had watched her closely all the time she was shopping. He thought it was strange. Even when they were in the goal area. She had spoken to the others so intimately and everything. As if she'd known them all for years. And now they were shopping. She hadn't asked a single question. Anyone else who came from another planet would have asked at least one question. And then there was the fact that General Hammond had just marched them out of the SGC. Very strange. And now here in the supermarket. She knew where to find the things she wanted. And he would love to know what exactly she'd discussed with Daniel and Teal'c. And what was in that damn folder she'd given the general. The whole thing was maddening! Logical thinking had never really been his strength. Still, he had more than enough questions for Alissa. And sooner or later he would get this answered too. He was very sure of that.
"Okay, I think we have everything," Alissa said after going through the shopping again. Jack nodded slightly. "Well, then we can pay now." He said and was already happy to have the whole thing behind him. He wasn't a big fan of shopping. Alissa, on the other hand, would have loved to go to the clothes shop across the street. However, this time she had been able to hold back. The two of them had quickly put the purchase on the belt and Jack had paid for the whole thing. Then the shopping was loaded into the car and they drove back to Jack, his house.
Once there, Alissa immediately put everything in the cupboards while Jack watched her carefully and drank a beer. Again he found that it was extremely strange. After all, she had never been to his house and she knew to his amazement where everything had to go. Maybe he would get something out of Daniel. "Okay, everything in place." Alissa said, tearing Jack out of his thoughts. This nodded. Maybe he would get something out of her too ?!"How did you know where everything has its place?" he asked therefore and now Alissa noticed what she had actually been doing. “Mmm. Instinct.” So she just said and shrugged her shoulders. "Ah ... yes." Jack just said and took another sip of his beer.
Flashback.
It was a beautiful summer day and Sam and Jack had taken the day off to spend it with their daughter. Jack was sitting in the garden having a beer. They waited for Daniel and Teal`c who wanted to come over. Then they wanted to have a nice barbecue together and talk about this and that. Alissa sat across from him, leafing through a magazine, bored. She looked at his beer with interest and wondered again what was so great about it. She had been fifteen for two weeks. "Dad?" she asked carefully and Jack looked at her questioningly. "What's little?" he asked her kindly and Alissa cocked her head slightly. "May I try it?" she asked and now Jack noticed that she wasn't looking at him, but his beer. He thought for a moment before nodding and handing her the bottle. "Go ahead," he said.
Alissa took the bottle and sniffed it first. The smell wasn't exactly tempting, she realized. Carefully she put the bottle on and took a sip. Immediately she grimaced, grabbed her glass of Coke and quickly drained it. "Uh. That's gross!" she said, shaking herself slightly. "Well. At least you don't have to worry about that." I heard, Daniel suddenly heard his voice and Jack nodded slightly.
Flashback end.
"Hey. I asked you something." Jack said, waving a hand in front of Alissa her face. She winced in shock and had to find that she was lost in thought again. "Oh. Sorry. What did you say?" she asked and looked at Jack questioningly. He just sighed. "Now it's too late anyway. I ordered pizza." He said and put away the now empty beer bottle. "Oh ... okay ..." she said and sighed slightly. She missed her parents. "Tell me, what do you think about this stuff?" she asked and pointed to the beer bottle. Jack looked at her briefly and then at the bottle. Then he shrugged. “It just tastes good.” He just said then and put the bottle away for good.
