The preparation
We were all seated at the kitchen table in Romy's kitchen. "You don't mean that seriously about the house party, do you?" I asked again. "Yes, I really mean it," confirmed Romy. "Do you know what a lot of work that is? 90 people are going to party here!" Washiza reminded Romy again. She looked at him with a grin: "Jib and this will be the best party ever and with your help it won't be so much work!" Washiza looked at her a little overwhelmed: "Um ... with our help?" and became dead serious, almost threatening: "You are going to help me, aren't you?" She said this with such a threatening undertone that your blood freezes in your veins. Washiza only nodded slowly and that was the end of the subject for Romy. I could understand Wahiza very well, when Romy looked at you like that, you really got scared of her. "So how do we do that now?" The brown-haired woman asked into the room. "I still have a disco ball. We could hang it here," I suggested. Fabian looked up. "Wow," he said, "why is your ceiling so high, Romy?" "There are two reasons for this, 1. Because this house is a bit older and we only renovated it and 2. Because my father is over two meters is big, "said Romy while writing something on a piece of paper. Somebody came into the kitchen. It was a tall boy with black hair. "Hi, Phil!" I greeted Romy's big brother. "Hi ...", he went to the refrigerator and got out a Coke, then he leaned between me and Fabian and looked upside down at Romy's sheet of paper. "A house party? Are you going crazy now?" Romy quickly covered the paper with her arms. "No, I definitely don't, stupid!" "Aha, and when do you want to do it?" "This weekend and you don't even have to look like that! Mom and Dad aren't there!", She poisoned her forehead as her brother frowned, but then smiled: “Cool! But me!” Then Romy jumped up and shouted: “You are forgiving! You are not even showing yourself clearly, Phil!” Her brother took a step back when she got closer to him. Romy was red in the face and was about to explode. Man, she's really moody today, I thought, and continued to watch the argument. "Why then? This is not your house!", Protested her brother, but smiled. He loved to piss his little sister off. "PHIL !!!", Romy shouted and pushed her brother towards the door, "OUT !!!", and with a bang the door closed. Then the still bright red Romy came to our table. "Lyndsay," she said in a loud, angry voice that made me wince. "Yes?" I asked carefully. "You get the disco ball and Fabi, Washiza and I start decorating!" She ordered. Nobody dared to say anything against their plan and so everyone did what he was told. I tried to get out of the house as soon as possible.I closed the front door. Oh man! I'm really sorry for the two boys, I thought, and then set off on my way.
When the doorbell rang again at Romy's house, a very happy Romy opened the door for me a little later. "Ah! There you are at last!", Greeted me. What's the matter with her? Did the boys give him anything? , I wondered. When I stepped into the living room, my eyes almost fell out. "Wow!" I was amazed. The whole living room was really nicely decorated and the dining table in the kitchen was turned into a bar. All drinks were already ready. A huge sterile system stood on an extra table and colorful lightbulbs were screwed into the living room lamp. "And? How do you like it?" Asked Fabian, who had screwed in the last lightbulb and was now getting off the ladder. "This is ... this is really great!", I beamed. "Jib! And while you were gone, we already wrote the invitations," said Romy and took them from the kitchen, in which the benches were already set up, "I'll go now and distribute them. Who wants to come with you? ", she asked. "Me!" Shouted Fabi and they both left the house. I was still standing there with the disco ball in my hand. At the other end of the room, Washiza sat casually in a chair. I looked up. Man, why can't the ceiling be as high as any other? I asked myself, then looked at the ladder. Fabian also managed to get to the lamp, then I'll manage to hang up this ball too, I encouraged myself. I took the ladder and put it in the right place. I looked at the black-haired man, who was still sitting rather casually on the chair and watching me. He's just waiting for me to embarrass myself. He can get rid of his make-up, I thought, and wondered how best to get up this ladder with the ball. Finally I climbed the ladder and dragged the ball up with me, piece by piece. This was not exactly small and also not particularly light. No, it doesn't work that way, I thought and climbed back down. Then I took the ball over myself and pushed it up bit by bit. Damn! It doesn't work that way either! I cursed inwardly and got off the ladder again. Man i must look like a monkey! , I thought and looked again at Washiza, who now raised an eyebrow and asked in a gleeful voice: "Shall I help?" What? , I thought. No, it should definitely not help me! I'll be able to hang a disco ball on the ceiling! The grin will probably go away! , I thought. "No! You shouldn't! I can do it myself!" I said confidently. Washiza leaned back and said: "Then let's see." I'll show him! I screamed inwardly. Then the idea came to me. I held the ball under my arm and climbed the ladder. I can do it! I thought over and over again. When I was upstairs I was cheering and wanted to hang the ball when I noticed that I forgot to dig a hook into the ceiling. No!Please do not! That can not be true! I pleaded, but it didn't help. I had to get off the ladder again with the disco ball. I put the ball down, went to a table and got a pick from a small tin. Incidentally, I glanced over at Washiza, who was grinning maliciously and was probably laughing himself to pieces. For the fourth time I climbed the ladder. When I was up I had to stretch until I was no longer able to dig those stupid heels into the ceiling. I turned until I felt like it was stuck. Then I got off the ladder again and got the disco ball. After 10,000 years, I finally managed to hang up this stupid ball. I proudly turned to Washiza, who ironically clapped his hands. "In half an hour, wow! You were faster than I thought!" "Stupid!", I said but had to smile. When I turned back to the ball, I saw the heel come loose from the ceiling and the ball fell towards the floor. No! , I thought, and Washiza, too, jumped up from his casual position and charged for the ball. I still tried to hold onto it, but only managed it with my fingertips. I tried very hard to hold the ball, but it was just too heavy. It slipped out of my fingers and I lost my balance and flew behind. Washiza had made it just in time and saved the bullet from impact. Unfortunately he had probably not included me in the plan and now he was lying flat on the floor, halfway over him and the ball in front of us unharmed. "Yeah, you really have what it takes ..." he said ironically and a bit tormented. I just gave him an equally tortured smile.
