The light of the moon

If you go to the ninja academy in Kirigakure, it is not easy, because even if the genin exam is no longer as brutal as it used to be, it is still very hard to study there. The teachers are strict, the material difficult and the classmates brutal. Especially when you were almost two years older than everyone else in the class.
Miru didn't care about any of this, at least it had to be, because she had sworn to become a Kunoichi. She just had to get through these years, no matter what the cost! She wasn't particularly good, not particularly bad either, but she didn't come close to the level of her age group. So she had to stay in this class and indulge in everyday bullying attacks.
In Miru's year, however, there was a boy she had heard a lot about. They called him the child prodigy[/i]or the nextdemon of Kirigakure. She had never seen this boy herself, but he must have long since left the academy. This was just remarkable, and so she wished she was at least half as good as this boy. But it wasn't that easy at all.

Because of her father's job, Miru was at least not alone in Kirigakure, where she hardly knew her way around. Of course she used to visit her father or come shopping with her mother, but she only knew a small part of this town. Her mother and her little brother Tento shouldn't have to move because of them, and she had some friends there too. So every Friday Miru drove over to one of the islands of Mizu no Kunis, where she grew up, to see the rest of her family and friends.

The wind brushed her long, pale green hair, which played around her rosy cheeks. The girl leaned against the railing and looked down into the clear water of which she was so afraid. Well, it wasn't directly the water that she feared, but the depth, because she couldn't swim. Of course she liked going to the booth with her friends in the summer, but she never dared go deep into the sea. She just hadn't liked swimming, she just couldn't do it. And whenever she wondered why, she couldn't find an answer. But that's how it went and she was happy.

"Hey, Miru! I bet you can't do it!" Someone suddenly shouted near her, so the girl turned to the boy who had spoken to her. It was her year, a ninja academy student like her, but two grades above her. There were still a few boys his age standing around him. "What do you mean, Masaru?", Miru wanted to know, but then the boy climbed onto the railing and balanced a few meters, turned around and went back to his friends to land a cat next to them on the deck .Miru just shrugged his shoulders and wanted to turn away when Masaru called something over to her again. “Well, you're echoing just a cowardly, weak girl!” All of his friends burst out laughing maliciously.
Miru had originally planned to stay calm, but she wanted to prove it to them. She was neither cowardly nor weak! She wanted to show them, then those stupid bags would have nothing more to laugh about. And maybe they would finally leave her alone. So she just sighed and jumped up on the railing. // Actually not difficult ... // she thought to herself and took a few steps forward. // I'm just not allowed to look down. // But easier said than done, because you already have a lot of gaze down to the water. Miru swallowed lightly and screwed up her eyes to convince herself that she was sure not to fall off. But she lost her balance and staggered. Of course, none of the guys even tried to help her.

"You know, Aniki, I think the Mizukage underestimates our abilities a bit. Anyway, we've already had heavier assignments. Hopefully this one won't be as boring as I think it will be."

There was a loud scream, whereupon all that was heard was an impact on the water. Loud laughter followed.

The boy, who had just been talking to his brother, turned around. If looks could kill, the horde of laughing boys would be dead by now. He and his brother had received a violent gush of water that was caused by the impact of something in the water. "What's going on here?" He growled angrily and stepped up to the group, who, when they saw him, backed away fearfully. Only their leader Masaru stepped forward undaunted. "We were just allowed to watch how awkwardly Miru was balancing on the railing and falling into the water. I also think that she can't even swim, like she always does on the beach in summer," he managed with a laugh.
When he glanced over the railing, the drenched boy really couldn't see anyone in the water. He didn't know the girl and he didn't care that these guys annoyed her, but he sure didn't let anyone drown, especially when they couldn't even try to save themselves because they couldn't swim. And apparently she was a classmate of these guys he knew from the academy, which is why she was a future Kunoichi Kirigakures and thus a future warrior of his country. That is why he was obliged to help her!
Said and done!
The group of boys just looked puzzled when their former classmate suddenly jumped over the railing and disappeared into the water with a splash.

Panicked Miru rowed arms and legs, but no longer knew where up and down was. Tears welled up in her burning eyes and mixed with the salt water around her.She screamed in panic, but only bubbles came out of her mouth. //I die! I die! // kept thinking about it.
A few meters further she heard a faint splash and bubbles rose. Was up there? But she barely had the strength and air left to dive up. Mirus slowly blurred, but she heard another shadow approaching her. //A shark? // was the first thing she could think of, which was actually not possible. Or is it? Were there sharks here?
Miru felt something grab her hand, it was a warm and strong grip. A few last bubbles came out of her mouth when she screamed in shock, but that must have been a mistake. // I guess that's it ... // Her eyes went black.

The girl passed out when he reached it, so the boy hurried to bring her to the surface. But even when she got there, she didn't gasp. //Crap! // he thought, concentrated the chakra in his feet and climbed out of the water, on which he could now walk as if on solid ground. The girl, whose long, green hair now covered her face, was quickly taken piggyback. He had to get her on the ship as soon as possible to help her! But of course the ship hadn’t been waiting for them, but had already driven very far. The boy ran after him quickly, reaching a remarkable pace, and finally jumped up onto the deck, where he dropped the girl.
Some of the passengers were frightened, but gathered around the two curiously. The group of guys who were to blame for the incident were also among them.
// There is only one thing I can do about that ..! //

Miru had stepped away for a while when she suddenly felt warm air in her lungs that made her cough. She quickly sits up and coughed out the water she had been breathing into her lungs while trying to continue breathing. Loud laughter rang out around them. When she opened her eyes, she looked into a pair of purple eyes. She was terribly frightened and backed away a little.
Confused, the girl now looked around until her gaze fixed again on the boy who owned the purple pair of eyes. His snow-white hair was dripping wet on his pretty face. In terms of age, Miru guessed him to be eight or nine, not much older than she was. The boy smiled weakly and so a few shark-like teeth showed, as they already knew from several people here in Kiri.
Slowly Miru began to understand the situation. The group of guys who were still laughing loudly and staring at her told her a lot. Her cheeks instantly turned rosy.
"I almost drowned, wouldn't I? And you saved me?", She whispered almost in a shaky voice, slowly she was getting cold. No wonder, since she was soaked from top to bottom. The white-haired boy in front of her just nodded and finally got up to pierce the group of boys again with his deadly look, which immediately silenced them."Don't imagine anything on that, little one," he turned back to Miru, who had meanwhile also got up. // Who is he referring to here withlittle ones?! // she wondered, since both children seemed pretty much the same size. But she would never have dared to say this out loud in her life!
"Thank you", Miru breathed and bowed briefly to her counterpart, who only waved his hand disparagingly, turned around and wanted to leave. Miru reacted quickly, grabbed the boy's arm and handed him an alpine rose. "I am Miru and you?" She asked and smiled gently. The group of boys held their breath in horror.
The boy with the snow-white hair slowly turned back to face her. His gaze wandered from Mirus 'smile to the flower she held out to him and with which he could not do anything at all, and back to Mirus' smile. Slowly he took the flower, he didn't get presents every day because the others probably had too much respect - or fear - for him. "Um ... Suigetsu", he finally answered with a slight confusion in his voice, because he had thought that he had been known here too long, and returned the girl's smile across from him briefly, with his sharp teeth flashing again.

A rumble made the children startled and the boy spun around, because he was standing with his back to the action: they had docked. "Well, see you," said Suigetsu, raised his hand in greeting and followed the crowd that had made their way to the mainland. Miru just nodded and watched him go until he disappeared into the crowd. "Nice boy," she said with a smile on her face and wanted to go on the way.
"Nice boy?" came suddenly from someone next to her. When she turned she recognized Masaru. “Do you even know who that was?” Miru just looked at him confused and shook his head. "That was the nextdemon from Kirigakure, man!", The boy only explained, shaking his head and finally ran away, his followers in tow.
Miru looked after him now too, first had to organize
