Chapter: The beginning

Hey
I am Kairi ...
and that's my story.

I opened my eyes. The sun blinded me and I automatically looked out the window. It was early morning. Today would be one of those days when nothing exciting happened. It wasn't always like this, I knew that. If it hadn't been so nice and warm, I would have jumped out of bed immediately and got ready for school. Because today Selphie wanted to pick me up and I didn't necessarily want to greet her in pajamas again. So I tortured myself out of bed with all my might and walked comfortably to my closet. "School uniform," I muttered as I turned the closet upside down until I remembered that I had put it on the chair last night. I laughed briefly at myself and finally got dressed. Then I went to the bathroom and continued to get ready.
Just as I was finishing my breakfast, the doorbell rang. I took my bag and went out to Selphie's. "Good morning, Kairi.", She greeted me. I smiled sweetly at her. “Good morning.” We made our way to school. "Kairi? Who are you going to the school ball with?", Selphie suddenly asked and I looked at her in surprise. "I'm not going to the school ball. I said yesterday." "But it should be totally romantic! You have to come! I think Wakka would really like to go with you.", Selphie interrupted me. I looked sadly at the floor. “But I don't want to go with Wakka. I don't want to.” “Yes, you do!” “No, I don't want to, Sel!” At last she was silent.

After school, I went home alone. I actually wanted to be alone, but then ... "Kairi! Wait!", Selphie shouted and I turned around automatically. I smiled at her as she stopped in front of me. Then we went on together. "You? Do you want to go out to the island?", She asked me with a smile. "Tidus and Wakka only have their ball game in their heads and don't want to come along," she complained. I looked at her apologetically. “Not today. I'm sorry.” Selphie just stopped, while I only stopped after a few steps. Then she came to me again and I had to sigh when she asked, “Oh! And why not?” So I started telling her what was bothering me. “Do you remember the guys who were always there?” “Riku?” “Yes.” “What happened to him?” This question bothered me too, but not as much as another. "I miss him," added Selphie. "He's far away. But I know we'll see him again," I replied. I was very sure of that. Riku would never leave me all alone. He would come again. "Definitely! We will!" Said Sel very optimistically. Now I went all out. I wanted to know. "And the other boy?" I asked. But I didn't expect her answer. "What other boy?"" Who was always with me and Riku. We always had so much fun on the island. His voice was always there, but now it's gone. "I told her, slightly sad." I can't remember his face or his name and I feel really bad about it. So I've made up my mind not to go back to the island until I've remembered everything about him. "" Are you sure he's not a pipe dream? ", Selphie asked. That question hurt. It hurt so damn it. But I nodded. I knew it existed! And I knew it would all come back to me.
"Naminé?" Someone suddenly asked in my head, which gave me a bit of a headache. I put my hand on my forehead. Then everything went black. There was nothing there. Nothing but the voice. "Naminé? What is happening to me?" Asked the boy. "Who are you? And that's not my name," I replied. “I'm Kairi.” “Kairi… I know you. You're the girl he likes.” “Who?” There was no answer so I said quickly: “Please, the name!” “I'm Roxas . "" Good, Roxas, but can you tell me his name? "" You don't remember my name ?! Thank you, Kairi! ", Another voice asked indignantly. "Huh?" I asked, slightly confused and startled. "Fine! I can give you a hint.", Said the second voice. "It starts with an" S "!"
Then I could open my eyes again and my head was calm. Selphie leaned over me, but I sat down and she brushed some dirt off my shirt. "Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded with a smile. It was all more than okay. I got up and went to the beach. When I got there, I stared at the water for a while. It was Selphie that pulled me out of my thoughts. "Kairi ...?" She asked. I smiled and took a bottle out of my pocket. I wrote a letter and put it in it. Without thinking twice, I dropped the bottle into the water. "What is that?" Asked Sel. "A letter I wrote yesterday to the boy I don't remember. I wrote that I would find him no matter where he is. Someday. And when I stopped writing, it occurred to me that we would made an important promise. This letter is the beginning. I know. ", I said. "Great! Hopefully he'll get it too," said Selphie. “Definitely.” I continued to look out to sea. "It starts with an" S ". Doesn't it ..., Sora ?!"
