Die Erkenntnis des Lebens
The first rest
We had been on our way for a few hours. My body, especially my legs, hurt. I had lowered my gaze and was looking at the path. Behind me I felt Madara's constant, attentive looks. It was uncomfortable to be stared at, which is why I watched the black-haired man out of the corner of my eye. Since I could not judge the much older one, I had decided to keep an eye on him.
Suddenly Luna stopped in front of me. Surprised, I stood next to her and looked at her questioningly. "What do you have?" I wanted to know quietly from her and looked briefly at Madara, who also came to a standstill. "Hey, what's the point, huh!", Deidara seemed to have noticed our stop as well and turned on his heels. "I can't go on and I'm hungry. I want us to take a break!", Luna looked alternately to Deidara and Madara before she stopped at me - in the middle. I looked at the brown-haired woman in surprise. What was that supposed to mean? Of course, I wouldn't be averse to a break, but we were only recently caught dead.
I was afraid. "You agree with me, don't you Trucy?", Damn it now, I was in the boat. "Uh ... well, yes, I could use a break.", My gaze flicked to Deidara, who gritted his teeth: "But we could just keep walking." Luna shook her head, uncomprehending. I could understand her, but I didn't want to die yet. Inwardly, I was annoyed at my cowardice, but a look at my explosive bondage brought me back to reality. I leaned down slightly to the smaller one. Her eyes were narrowed and her lips were drawn into fine lines. Oh, was she mad at me now? "Luna, please be understanding.", I whispered to her and hoped for her understanding.
"How long do we have to walk to the next stop?" I asked the Nuke-nin. Deidara had calmed down and looked annoyed at Luna and me before he looked at the black-haired man. "We'll stop at the next Dango store. That should be an eight-hour walk.", Madara happily clapped her hands behind me. "Cool Deidara-sempai, the dumplings there are the best." I had to smile slightly. So we came into this world after catching the Sanbi. But didn't that also mean that both Itachi's and Deidara's end were in the near future? I shook my head briefly, but quickly noticed that I was being stared at. "Is what?" Luna asked. I quickly said no. "Come on! The dangos are waiting.", Madara, who was now completely back in the role of Tobis, jumped from one leg to the other. I nodded and followed the bigger one, always in the back of my mind that we still had a long way to go. Deidara, who was behind me now, sighed and shook his head in exasperation before he started moving too.
As we continued down the path, I looked around. We walked through the dense forest for a long time before after five hours the wood cleared a little. Trees that had previously grown to the edge of the path gave way to the background. The reddish light of the already setting sun created long, dark shadows. I had never consciously noticed anything like this before. It was strangely peaceful and looked wrong. This natural phenomenon just didn't fit here. After all, Luna and I were with S-ranked felons and we didn't belong in this world. But I knew we were really here. Not only because my stomach growled inexorably for some time, but also because I still felt the pain of our journey. "I can't take it anymore," I whispered to Luna. She nodded before I heard her stomach rumble softly. "Not just you.", The brown-haired woman whispered back: "I am also hungry and thirsty and have been since I asked earlier.". I looked at her apologetically before turning to Deidara.
Now walking backwards, I explained our concern to the blonde Shinobi. "I only have food pills and if you take them, then we don't need to go to this dango shop either.", He explained to me matter-of-factly and didn't seem really interested in our basic needs. Suddenly Madara stopped. I didn't know why, but I suspected that he really wanted to go to the store and was now perhaps upset that his senpai no longer wanted to go. My gaze, which had previously been on the black-haired man, now looked back to the former Iwa-nin. His free eye darted from side to side. His body had tensed and he had put his hands in both of his clay pockets. What was it again? Would we be attacked now?
"Tobi, get both of them out of the line of fire!", A smile spread across Deidara's lips. "Sure, Senpai.", The black-haired man shouted while saluting. Suddenly I could feel him close to my back. One of his gloved hands grabbed my shoulder before I lost the ground under my feet for a short time. For less than a second my eyes went black. Clumsily I put my feet back on the ground and let the Uchiha drag me along, who pulled us from the path into the forest. Beside me I heard Luna breathing quickly. At first I didn't even notice that we were running, but now I felt my lungs painfully trying to get the valuable oxygen. My legs protested, but Madara inexorably pulled me on.
I ran along automatically, just couldn't put up any resistance. The wind burned my eyes. I've never been so fast! "Hurry up!", The older one instructed us, who had apparently found his way back to his old self. I didn't quite understand why. What was Deidara up to? Who was chasing us that Madara was hounding so much? "I can not anymore.", Luna gasped beside me. All of a sudden, I heard several explosions of Deidara's made clay animals. Immediately afterwards a strong wind came up. I turned around hastily. Trees were on fire, while the blonde Iwa-nin rose above the burning tops a clay bird, its shape only blurred and shimmering through the heat of the fire.
Just as I was looking forward again, I stumbled. I tried clumsily to hold on to Luna and Madara. Everything happened so quickly. The brown-haired woman could not hold me in the rush and also tried to cling to the masked man. Immediately afterwards I could feel the leafy forest floor below me. "Ouch," I moaned muffled as I hit the ground. I slowly sat up and looked surprised at the Uchiha, who was pulled down by Luna and me. "You did really great," he said in his deep voice and looked up.
What did he have? Following his gaze, I noticed that the three of us had fallen down a hill. "And what do we do now?" Luna asked and slowly got up. "Wait here.", The black-haired man explained and sat down on a fallen tree trunk. "Guilty." I mumbled, embarrassed. After all, it was my fault that we fell. "Damn it! Where did they go?" Someone was nearby. "Look there! These prints look strange.", Said someone else. Have we been followed all along? But why was Madara so calm? Was he so confident that the guys wouldn't follow us? "Don't move!" Whispered the older one. For a while nothing happened before Madara got up from his seat. "We can go on.", "Are you sure? They could still be somewhere around here. Besides, you don't really think that I'm going up there.", Luna contradicted the bigger one.
"They are gone." Somehow Madara couldn't calm us down, after all we were almost discovered! My heart was still beating unstoppably in my chest. Suddenly footsteps could be heard again from above. I saw anger in the peephole of the mask. "How was that?" I hissed at the Nuke-nin. Did he want to get rid of us guy? Were we perhaps too great a source of danger for war veterans? "What are you guys doing down there, huh?" I looked up, startled. Deidara, who was enthroned on his clay bird, grinned gleefully at us. Embarrassed, I tried to cover up my blush. I was embarrassed. "Deidara-sempai, hello.", The Uchiha called up.
"Trucy, did you panic like me?" Luna asked me when I finally got up. I nodded in response and was glad that it was all over for the time being. Deidara, who landed with his bird in front of us, jumped off. "The Anbu is getting more and more stubborn, too," he complained before sitting on the fallen tree trunk."It's late. We won't leave until tomorrow and camp here for the night. Tobi fetch firewood!", Surprised and at the same time relieved, I sat down on a larger stone. The brown-haired woman sat down next to me and looked eagerly at Deidara, who was rummaging around in his pocket. "There they are.", He spoke rather to himself and held a small bottle at eye level.
The black-haired man who had been looking for wood in the vicinity put it on the floor in front of us before lighting it with matches. Immediately Luna and I felt the rising warmth and despite what it seemed to be summer in this world, the fire came in handy for me. I needed the warmth right now. I felt totally drained and just wanted my peace and quiet. "Take that, huh.", Deidara said and held out two small, black balls to us. So these had to be the food pills he was talking about earlier. "How are we supposed to do that, we are tied up?", Luna explained irritably to the blue-eyed man. "Then open your mouth," said Deidara. I looked at the brown-haired woman uncomfortably. Was the nuke-nin trying to feed us things? A look in his blue, demanding eyes told me. Yes, he wanted that.
I opened my mouth slowly and immediately felt the light weight of the pill. A bitter taste spread to my tongue before I swallowed the pellet. I grimaced in disgust before shaking myself in front of Eckel. Still grimacing, I slowly felt the effect of the remedy. The first night could come.
