Camp TreeWalker (MM-FF)
Caught in the unreal
Welcome to the third round;) First of all, thanks for the feedback although the chaps have been so short so far: P Hopefully this will change ^ - ^ Then have fun and thrill while reading;)
When everyone was sitting together again in the right bus, the atmosphere was exuberant. We recovered from our wolf adventure and looked forward to the camp. After half an hour my back hurt from the plastic seats, which reminded me of the first bus that had left us alone in the pampas. "I hope we really get to camp now." I sighed as Hailey sat down next to me. "The guys in the back talk about the purest garbage.", She uttered annoyed. “Besides, that's the right bus now, we'll be there soon.” Just then, something damned big, dark something hit the side of the bus and almost knocked it over. Within a few seconds the purest horror broke out on the bus. Screams broke the silence, a terrible squeak, like fingernails on a blackboard, only much louder, drowned out our screams. The disk with which the creature had collided was smeared with reddish and yellowish streaks mixed with black, sticky tufts of hair. Meg covered her eyes and curled up in the corridor, Hailey and I had jumped up and stared fearfully into the forest on either side. The bus wobbled unsettlingly and then came to a stop. Nearby, too loud a howl cut through the gruesome silence, and the screams had ceased. "Take a look at the sky ...", Joy whispered and pointed to the rising full moon. Fear spread. "There must be an explanation for this ..." Sam whispered.
Aky's voice broke our silence. He stood in front of the torn window and looked at the streaks. "That's blood. I suppose the other one is drool." "We didn't want to know that exactly ..." My stomach began to rumble. At the latest when I looked ahead and the ice water ran down my back, it was over for my stomach. My limbs were paralyzed and my eyes were wide open, the shock and fear clutching my heart. What was standing in front of us on the street, the breath of which formed clouds in the cool air, could not be real. I swallowed, but the toilet in my throat prevented me from speaking. With an effort I choked "Do you have an explanation for that?" out and started shaking. Sam looked through the windshield and let out a loud scream. "No ... that can't be true ... no, that's a dream ... Something like that doesn't exist ...!" She stammered.
I blinked and at the same moment Finny asked: "What is there?" I couldn't believe my eyes. "It ... it's gone ..." I looked at Sam, who was as disturbed as I was. "You saw it too ...?" She nodded. “But that was probably just an imagination.” Slowly I was able to move again and sat down next to Hailey, who looked at me with a frown. At that moment she had been watching the forest from the window.
The driver activated the loudspeaker. "I'm sorry for this little interruption, we were rammed by a wild boar." The bus pulled up. "We will reach the camp in a few minutes. I wish you a pleasant stay." A wild boar ... The creature did not look like a wild boar at all. Even a talented circus pig couldn't walk on two legs and no drool ran out of the corners of his mouth, which were covered with razor-sharp teeth. It had no glowing yellow eyes and was also less than two meters high ... And it did not disappear with a single blink!
After a few minutes we reached the camp as promised. "That ... is the entrance?" Asked Maro, shocked. An archway made of weathered wood, a board nailed to the upper arch with black, peeling inscription "Camp TreeWalker". The entire structure was overgrown with wild ivy and other plants and was hardly legible.
"Is there also the possibility to go back to the airport ... Oh my God!" Meg had turned to the bus, but when I also looked around for it, it had disappeared without a trace. "When did he leave?", Alex asked astonished, "Well, I would say we have no choice but to go in there." And with these words the gray-haired man packed his suitcase, shouldered his rucksack and went to the gate and the Ascheweg that runs underneath. Hailey just shrugged and did the same. I followed with Finny, Joy and Sam. Meg and Maro were a bit behind and argued heavily. "That they have nothing better to do in such situations ..." Joy only mumbled.
The fine ash path led through dark undergrowth and tall, ancient trees, wild berries, ferns and all sorts of grasses grew along the way, and I saw many mushrooms. After a three-minute walk, the path led into a fairly large clearing with small, old, weathered-looking wooden huts scattered around. "We're allowed to sleep in those parts for six weeks ..." I glanced at Sam, she looked rather unhappy about it. "Yes, great. What should we do here now? Isn't there anyone here to receive us?" Hailey's doubts only elicited a gentle shrug or an unquestioning "Hm ..." "I suggest we look for the main building ..." "Good idea Finny . "
In the end, Joy, Sam and Maro stayed with the bags and the rest began to look for the main building. And maybe it wasn't a good idea that each of us went looking alone ...
After a good half hour I heard Joy calling us. "I think I've found the main building! Come here!" So everyone gathered at the edge of the large clearing and stared in horror at the rotten wooden hut, which was twice as big as the small huts, but also a lot older looked. The wood had turned black from lichen, moss or simply from the weather, and the simple bark panels that served as a roof were the same color and covered with leaves. The house was surrounded by an attached fence made of wooden stakes and only had a hole in one place, behind which a small veranda opened to the door. Or discharged as you saw it. "Looks ... nice.", Finny mumbled and took a step towards it. “Oh guys, it looks great!” With these words, Hailey ran towards the wooden house and jumped onto the veranda. The wood began to make frightening noises under her weight. "Watch out!" I called and hurried after the rest of the group. The door was locked. "How about we put the suitcases here under the canopy and then try to open the door?" Suggested Sam soberly. We agreed and went back to our luggage, grabbed our bags, and met again before the next problem. "How do we get in there now?" "I think the door is closed? ..." "Meg, such a complex doesn’t stand around unobserved. Even if the camp is in the middle of the forest and nobody ever comes by here, think I, that somebody has to be around here somewhere. How about we go into that house and wait for this somebody? ", her friend began to argue, but the girl was still not comfortable with it. "We can wait out here ..." "I think Maro is right. It will soon be dark again and we saw the wolves with our own eyes. They were monster animals, as big as they were. When we get into the house , We can still explain to the owners why we went in there. In any case, that's better than out here in the company of wolves and what I don't know about spending the night. "I had spoken and everyone agreed. A grin crossed my face. Being the oldest wasn't all that bad. "I don't want to attract attention, but I've picked locks quite often.", Hailey remarked and everyone stared in her direction in horror. "Then try the bacon.", Grinned Finny, the excitement and curiosity made his grin almost overjoyed and his eyes appear shiny. "You are all crazy.", Joy stated with a sigh.
Within a few minutes, the contact lens wearer had made a lockpick out of her hair clip and opened the door. With a loud groan, the door swung open inward. The door hinges creaked and the wood creaked beneath us as we entered one after the other and Sam closed the door behind us. I quickly found the light switch and at least the lightbulbs still did. A warm but faint beam of light illuminated a large room that was divided in the middle by a low wall. In the front part on the right there was a huge grill. Or rather, a huge slab that was anchored to the ceiling with steel chains and hovered over an equally huge fireplace. To the left of the door was a large, coarse oak table, probably made by myself, with ten tall blocks of wood around it for chairs. In the back it was much more comfortable: two sofas stood around another, low oak table parallel to the wall, they were covered with a simple suede upholstery and looked quite comfortable. In the far corner of the room was a pantry that reached the ceiling, but it was locked. Hailey decided to let it in for now, if we needed it we could still open it. So we put our bags and suitcases on the back wall next to the sofas and lounged on them. They were amazingly soft and extremely cozy. The floor was bare wooden in the front, but covered with soft fur and carpets in the rear. There were also several animal skins hanging on the wall, from foxes, deer and a small black bear.
Slowly it got cooler, so thanks to Akky's lighter we got the fireplace burning. Due to the pleasant warmth and the cozy get-together we forgot the time, talked about everything that was interesting and what we liked to do. A friendship began to form between us, like a spider web. Sam took her laptop out of her pocket and only then did we realize that it was now past midnight. "I suggest that two people stay awake and watch out. Firstly on the fire so we don't freeze here and then because of all the beasts out there. I don't want to be eaten in my sleep. I would agree to the first watch. The Those who are the most tired can take over the last shift. "I looked at the yawning Meg, who nodded in agreement and closed her eyes. "I can stay awake too," Alex said ready.
Finny and Joy wanted to take on the next watch, which should each last over two hours. Then Hailey and Maro reported, and for the last Meg and Sam.
All in all, nothing special happened that night. The strange things always happened when we weren't looking ... Anyway, the next morning everyone woke up with a hungry stomach and we found ourselves in front of the pantry. “Hailey, would you be so
