Sayo knew something was weird.
He looked at her. Looked into her eyes. But nothing came. She looked at him, but she was afraid to say something. At his devastating look.
No greeting. No kind words like in the past. Not even a peep. Nothing and neither nothing!
She was disappointed. The girl doubted everything, it took her so much.
The rain made her freeze, but she tried not to show him.
"Is it you?" She asked in a shaky voice and raised her injured hand as if she wanted to grab something.
She had a hard time controlling herself, didn't want to be a pushover. Sayo shouldn't show any weakness towards him. He could take advantage of it, but she didn't expect that from him. No, he wouldn't use that against his old girlfriend!
She gathered up all her courage, cleared her throat, and looked at him determinedly.
"I asked you something!", She said in a clear and decisive voice.
Sayo wasn't sure about anything anymore. She didn't know how he would react. Everything could change after ten years, right? She knew that, but she would fight for her feelings.
"Who do you think you are?" He hissed cynically and she looked at him skeptically.
Something had changed a lot and the redhead sensed it all too well.
"Who do you think I am?" Redhead mumbled defiantly, but she was unsure of what she was doing.
"I don't know you.", The man across from her grumbled.
A stab in the heart. A big tear in the soul. Words that the green-eyed woman would always hear when she thought of him.
The Tanaba was not allowed to falter now, but tears came to her. Sayo wasn't allowed to cry now, but she did.
And she let out all the pain. The difference, he saw it. He saw her crying. But the way he had reacted to everything, he would have no understanding.
"Why are you crying?" He asked coldly and suddenly Sayo was angry.
She snorted. Got ready for a big speech and all the allegations. She would say what has jammed in the ten years.
"Why did you go then? Why did you look into my eyes and say that we would never see each other again? Why don't you recognize me again? Did you forget me? We used to play together, remember? Me I don't understand you! It's been ten years, I know, but I wouldn't have expected that in my worst dreams! And I'm so stupid! I wanted to look for you too! ", the desperate girl sobbed, screaming and looked at him furiously.
Without waiting for an answer, she turned and disappeared down the great road that she had quickly behind her.
Some went for a walk, others dismantled the last stands and no one noticed how Sayo rushed by, crying. Maybe hissing cats jumped away or evaded it with a short 'meow'.Like a shadow, she crept down a small street and slid to her knees on the cold concrete wall. She supported them awkwardly with her good hand and dropped onto her bum. Her eyes had turned red from crying and she was surprised how many tears accompanied her all the way. So her tears didn't fail after all.
"Sayo, you are so stupid," she said, laughing painfully.
The redhead stroked her eyes and remembered how she had yelled at him. Her speech had done no good. The speech had collapsed and Sayo's retreat made the whole thing look even worse. She screwed her eyes shut tight, would love to pinch herself and wake up from the nightmare, but it wasn't a dream. It was the harsh reality that created such great obstacles for her.
“Why are you crying?” She looked up and blinked when it suddenly got so light.
And there he was. In front of her. Now she could see him very clearly.
"Why don't you know who I am?" Said the person addressed sharply and sat up straight.
She put her injured hand on her knee, which she had still bent. She had stretched out the other leg. Her wet dress clung to her cold skin, the cold wind blew through her damp hair, but now the moment mattered more. And she didn't care if the ground was wet and if her clothes were soaked in the rainwater. After all, it was wet enough by now.
The Tanaba looked at him with a slight grin on her face. How she could grin now, unimaginable. Sayo herself didn't know what she was doing. But she did it for one reason only.

His look was indefinable. But I saw the cold! I saw it!
I knew him well enough to see it. But the way I knew him, he knew me too. As good as I am.
Only the difference is here somewhere else. He's changed, but I'm clinging to memories. He doesn't seem to have any feelings and I am inundated with them.
What a painful sight ...

He avoided her eyes, but Sayo couldn't stand the situation either. The only thing that made it easier for her was her will to assert herself.
"Look at me!" She ordered resolutely and stood up, more or less skillfully.
He didn't respond. He was still looking away.
"I said look at me!" She screamed angrily and he did as he was told, albeit slowly.
"Itachi, look me in the eyes and tell me if we know each other. Say my name." She looked at him sincerely.
For Sayo, eye contact was everything. An easy game for the redhead - at least that's how it used to be. It is still the same with people around her, but she has always had difficulties with him. He knew the game, was just as good at it, and now they were playing it together.
Her lower lip trembled slightly, but otherwise she was well under control. Better than expected, after all, it was a cold autumn night."It's been ten years. Everything has changed," he began calmly.
Her gaze was fixed on him. The girl eyed him carefully.
"Sayo.", He added quietly.
She smiled. Relieved, happy and surprised. In her ears these words were the melody she had been looking for for a long time. But to complete it she needed something else so that she could be completely satisfied. She forgot rain, cold and sadness. She was happy.

My name. My name, that was all. I wanted to hear it and you said it.
But why did you hesitate? I do not understand you. But I didn't do that before either.
You are an unsolved mystery. A riddle that I want to solve. A secret that I would like to reveal.
So don't get in my way. I only want to help you!
