Chapter: Be your face
Hi,
my name is lillian. I am a normal person. Well not really. I am a moon angel. I was born a human. But fate probably had a different plan for me even then. I was just four years old when my mother died in a car accident. Two years later, shortly before my sixth birthday, my father was murdered. The circumstances for this have not yet been clarified. So after my father was also dead and I was an orphan, I was first taken to an orphanage. The other children were mostly very nice. But of course there were also children who thought they were better. Many of us were the heirs of great companies. But none of us could inherit before our 18th birthday. I stayed in the orphanage for four years. Exactly on my 10th birthday a young man came and took me with him. The sisters in the orphanage, I later learned, did not know that I was being taken. From the day I turned my back on the orphanage, I was kept in secret.
I didn't understand why I was imprisoned. There was a full moon on my 12th birthday. That night my fate was revealed to me. I was the weapon of two warring parties. On the one hand the Senate of Vampires and on the other hand the vampire hunters. Who got protection from the other was in my hands. But I was still a child myself. Unable to decide who needed me more I didn't take part. On my 16th birthday I had to decide who to help. But there was still a long way to go. I trained for four years. Learned to control the power of the moon. I fled a week before my birthday. Without anything to eat and only one cent in my pocket, I ran away. It was autumn and ripe apples were hanging on the trees. So I satisfied my hunger through autumn. But soon winter came and it was getting colder and colder. I often hid in public toilets or train stations just to get out of the cold. But hunger was a big problem. Every now and then I manage to steal fruit at the weekly markets, but that was not the solution.
Here and there I played pickpockets and stole a few coins from one or the other. But once I bumped into a young man with slightly longer brown hair and equally brown eyes. I apologized and walked away with his wallet in my pocket. But already a strong hand was holding my sleeve. "Even when you're hungry. You don't eat other people." I looked at him in astonishment. Nobody ever caught me stealing. But this man was different. "I'm sorry," I muttered, holding out his wallet. “Even though you're so hungry, will you give it back to me and not run away with it?” I shook my head. Then I turned and ran away again. Or so it was planned. But again I was held tight.I turned around again. "I've already apologized. What else do you want?" I asked him. "You are in great danger. Young moon angel!" I looked at him perplexed. “W-w-where from?” I wasn't capable of more than one stutter. His eyes lit up red for a moment. I took a few steps backwards and shook my head in disbelief. "Another power-hungry man who only wants to pull me to one side," I groaned. But he? He shook his head. "As you can see, I belong in the vampire camp, but I can assure you that I don't work with the Senate!" I cocked my head. “What's your dear sir's name?” I asked ignorantly. "Me? My name is Kaname Kuran." Kaname Kuran, I had heard of him. He was a pureblood vampire, but that was no reason to trust him. He was one of my enemies. Yes, I had made up my mind by now who I would protect. I decided not to help anyone. The vampires and the hunters had to manage to solve this "problem" themselves. “Trust me little angel. I'll protect you.” “No!” With that I tore myself away and ran away.
Lost in thought, I wandered the streets that were becoming more and more empty. As so often, the cold crept under my skin. I looked around for the warmest possible place to stay for the night. I stopped in front of a ruin. Most of the windows were boarded up and the door was no different. I grabbed the boards on the door and yanked them down with full force. The door was still locked, so I just kicked it in without further ado. I carefully felt my way along the wall. Then there was a click and the room was flooded with warm light. I didn't pay attention to the furnishings. Hoping the lights would work throughout the house, I checked out the other rooms. I came into a dusty bedroom. There was still sheets on the bed. I quickly shook off the coarsest dust and lay down on the bed. Exhausted and grateful to have survived another day, I fell asleep. "No !!" "Yes, Kalira. We have to get her out of here. She is too much of a danger." I slowly woke up again. I heard two unfamiliar voices whispering. "But Ryo ... She needs our help right now!" "We don't even know you." "I know Ryo but she is just like us a moon angel who is hunted by the vampires and the vampire hunters." "I know ... But she is the girl who is considered a weapon. "" So what? Didn't you even say that we have to hold Moon Angels together? Or was that just a lie? "The conversation between the two was really exciting. But now I wanted to add my mustard as I was. "Oh yes. Let's help the moon angel, who we don't know and who poses a very great danger for us. He'll surely be grateful to us and then we'll get something for free."They both looked at me." Hey ... not all at once, yes. "That's what I meant when nobody said anything. Still not a word." Well, if that is the case. I'm gonna go, then. "I left the room and went to the front door. Just before I reached this, someone held me, again." Please don't go. "I turned around. The girl who was apparently named Kalira looked at me." Oh wow. So you can talk? "She looked at me incomprehensibly." Yes of course we can talk. " "Yes I know. Stupid question, sorry. "Well, that was my first meeting on Kalira, or Kal as we called them, and Ryo.
I stayed with them. We didn't leave town, we came back to the locked house every evening. We enjoyed the wonderful silence for a year. We met three other Moon Angels and they also joined us. But soon this idyll was disturbed. It was winter again. As always, we were outside all day and didn't come back to the dilapidated house until late in the evening. But today was something different. There was an icy aura throughout the house. Unsure we went in and that was exactly what was our downfall. Both the Senate dogs and the hunters were here and immediately surrounded us. We tried to fight, but we were downright beaten. I had to watch my friends being taken away or even killed. I lost a lot of blood in that fight, but I tried to keep fighting. At some point my body was as heavy as lead and I went down. Even when I didn't want to, I closed my eyes. I didn't care what would happen now. I just wanted my peace and quiet. I fell asleep for good.
When I woke up again I was lying in a soft and warm bed. I opened my eyes and saw ... "Kaname Kuran." I was unable to do more than a whisper. Now my side made itself felt. I grimaced. “I would say this is how you see each other again, Moon Angel.” He seemed to be studying me. "My name is not Moon Angel. My name is Lillian." "How nice that you finally tell me your name." I just looked at him. Then I grimaced again. I was in pain and a lot of it. He eyed me again, but this time worried. “I'll get you something for the pain.” He got up and wanted to leave. I didn't know why I grabbed his sleeve and looked at him with fearful eyes. "No. Please don't go. You will find me. I don't want to be alone." "Don't worry, I'll be right back. And THOSE won't dare come here." With that he left. And I sat huddled together on the bed in great pain and listened to every little noise. I didn't know how long I had sat there motionless, but at some point Kaname came back. He held out a tablet and a glass of water. I accepted it with thanks. After a few minutes, the pain reliever started to work.I noticed it just because I was strangely tired. Kaname smiled and just said that I should sleep a little now and when I woke up again I would feel better. Even if it would have made sense to sleep, I fought against the emerging tiredness, I lost and finally fell asleep.
The next time I woke up, I was alone in the large, bright room. I straightened up and found that I was no longer in pain. I carefully put my feet on the cool floor. I went to the door and looked down the hall. It was empty. I stepped out and went down the hall. When I came down the stairs, I was greeted by a girl in a housewife's uniform. "Good morning young lady. Kuran-sama is waiting for you in the salon. But first you should get dressed properly." The woman took me back up to the room in which I had slept before. She handed me gray skinny jeans and a red top. “I will wait in front of the door until you have moved.” The housemaid disappeared through the door. I was amazed that the clothes fit me perfectly. Still, I felt uncomfortable in it, as I usually wore baggy clothes. As uncomfortable as I felt, I stepped back out into the corridor. The maid took me straight to the parlor of the house. Not knowing what to say or do, I stood in the door and didn't move. “How are you, young angel?” I looked at Kaname. "Quite well. I think. And please don't always call me an angel." "Oh, but you are. An angel." "Yes, that may be. But you now know my name. So please call me at this one too." "Of course. Lillian." "Thank you." I bowed slightly. "So and what are you going to do now? Lillian." I looked up, he had stepped in front of me. "Me? I will look for other moon angels. I have to warn them. If not we will be completely wiped out where possible. I thank you Kaname-sama for helping me. But I have to go as soon as possible." He saw look at me sadly. "I understand you. It is a pity that you want to leave so quickly. I thought I would not be so alone in this house. But you are right; you have to warn the others of your people." "Thank you for your understanding, Kaname- sama. "" My maid Hadley will pack some clothes for you. Then she will show you
