Morrigain
Prologue: The flight
Morrigain was annoyed.
For half a day she has been flying in her crow shape over England in the direction of London. The wind blew ice cold towards her and it poured like buckets, which forced her to land several times.
However, it wasn't wind and weather that spoiled her mood, she was used to harsh climates from Ireland. Rather, it was the fact that as a high noblewoman from the court of the proud Thuata de Dannan (a.d. A. Irish fairies) she had to submit a request to the Shinigami in order to be able to move reasonably freely in the world of mortals.
She, the dark queen, mistress of the realm of the dead, military leader, feared and loved, most beautiful of the fairies, had to explain to society what she wanted in this world.
The worst part, however, was that she had not only been pestered with uncomfortable questions, she had been given an endless lecture on prohibitions and the consequences of disregarding them.
NO! She had been assigned a WATCHER. Really ... one of those shinigami nuggets, one of those rule-obsessed, glasses-wearing soul collectors should be their nanny.
"As soon as you arrive in London, you will be contacted"
Morrigain laughed scornfully, which left her throat as a hoarse croak.
Her brother would surely have a lot of fun if he saw how the Shinigami, who Morrigain was very enthusiastic about recently, were talking to her.
Of course, she still wanted to revive the old covenants. Now that the fomors and demons grew in abundance and the former power of the fae waned, every hand was needed.
But diplomacy was not the reason why she made her way to London.
The sword, crow's wing, had been stolen. It was the sword of her father Oberon, the fairy king. With the pitch black, overlong saber it was possible to tear down the barrier that separated the worlds from each other. When Oberon fell into his unfortunate sleep centuries ago, Morrigain had taken over the weapon and created a protection against abuse that only she knew about
Only with her ring was it possible to unleash Crowwing's true power and it was still emblazoned on her hand.
Now the weapon was gone and it was assumed that a traitor at court had stolen it and was now on his way to the demons. If this was true, all worlds were in great danger, for the sword could fall into the hands of the Demon King. It was only a matter of time before he found out that Crowwing's power was sealed and who to ask how to break that seal. Even without its full power, the weapon could do tremendous damage in the wrong hands. Crowwing was a collector of souls, if you wanted a Deathscythe, inspired by the goblin Seamus.
Seamus was practically the human form of the weapon and thus an additional protection. The stubborn goblin hated to be ordered around, loved to act sideways, but Morrigain doubted that Seamus' will was enough to defend himself for long.
The whole story had earned her some nasty remarks from the Shinigami, and accordingly Morrigain had been happy when she was told of a lead that led her directly to London. There the weapon had been offered at the troll market.
