never showed much emotion in his eyes either. Especially since he was mostly limited to contempt, amusement and boredom. That he thought about her words now was all too obvious. He also tried to analyze her to find out her motivation why she was here now. Anna wasn't ready to tell him yet, so he should think about it a bit more.
To distract him from it, she asked. "What happened to Opacho? Otherwise she was always by your side."
"Opacho is about to lead a normal life. Just like you."
Anna nodded in understanding. "What about you? Don't you want to lead a normal life too?"
Hao let out a very amused noise and changed the subject. "So Yoh is trying to make the world a better place?"
Only reluctantly did she get involved in the new topic. "That's how it was agreed. Yoh and the others are doing everything in their power to improve the world. While you wait and see how human beings develop until the next shaman fight."
"And still he trains to be able to survive in the next shaman fight against me." he said amused. "Doesn't sound to me like you have great confidence in people."
Anna snorted contemptuously."Yoh at least try to stick to your agreement."
Hao knitted his eyebrows. "Are you saying that I'm not sticking to it?"
"Indeed." she nodded immediately. "You don't give people a chance. You can't if you hide in some forest in which hardly a soul dares to enter."
"You'd better shut up if you have no idea what you're talking about."
"Oh yes? Then explain your strange worldview to me!"
Hao's expression took a trait that Anna didn't like at all and even hurt her. Yoh's twin brother had never looked at her like that before, others had often been with hers. But he had never looked at her so disdainfully before. But this time his gaze was only on her.
That's why Anna immediately switched to stubborn and her eyes darkened. She also noticed how the temperature in the tent rose drastically.
Only then did it occur to her that Hao controlled and mastered the fire. Which meant that he could have dried her and her clothes in no time yesterday. Where she was with her thoughts that she had not thought of it before, she did not understand. But the fact that he hadn't pointed it out to her, let alone offered her, let her facial expressions darken even further.
The air in the tent was getting thinner and thinner, it no longer allowed that she could breathe deeply. Which is why she had to start breathing faster to get enough oxygen to her lungs.
The man responsible had changed his expression and was now looking at her in amusement. “Did you remember that I control the fire?” To demonstrate it to her, he let a flame appear in his hand, which made it a bit hotter.
Anna would do a devil and therefore flee the tent. Better to poison it to him. "Stop doing that immediately!"
"Are you a little too warm?" he asked smugly. "Well, I think it's very cozy here."
From second to second it got even warmer so that the heat made Anna ready. Even so, she was still too proud and stubborn to leave the tipi.
Foaming with anger, she raised her hand to slap him hard on the face.
The flame over Hao's hand disappeared as he caught hers. His other wandered to the back of her neck and he pulled her closer so that their foreheads almost touched.
Even though his body was probably only at normal temperature, his hands felt comfortably cool on her skin.
The stifling heat disappeared again when he asked. "Why are you here Anna?"
Until then Anna hadn't noticed that the rain drops hadn't pounded on the tent for these moments, but when they did it again she heard it.
Unable to suppress a sigh as it finally got cooler again, she closed her eyes.
Hao waited a few more moments, but when he still got no answer he let go of her. He grabbed his things to slip into immediately. Just before he left the tipi, he said something else."I have something to do. You can stay here or go, it's up to you."
