The Song Of Midnight
The Legend
Fairy tales always begin with the words "Once upon a time, a long, long time ago .." and always end with "And if they haven't died, then they are still alive today."
And even if our story resembles a fairy tale, it begins and ends completely differently.
If someone had wanted to tell me a few weeks ago that we would experience something like this, I would have referred them to the nearest clinic, shaking my head.
But who would have thought that there is still such a thing as adventure and heroes in our world. After all, Isya was a very rich country whose economy was thriving. There was no room for heroes and imagination, because the only thing that counted was the performance and the profit you made at the end of the month. Yes, Isya was a very rich country. Rich in idiots who trot to work like machines every day, always doing the same work there like robots and going home after work without thinking about what they actually did today. Yes, Isya was a very rich country.
Myself and my two friends Don and Natsu could tell a song about it. Our parents all died of a major epidemic exactly 15 years ago. We were then placed in the St. Nina Orphanage in Elderin, where we also met. There were always three of us and to this day nothing could separate us. I am now 18 years old and have become a woman.
And even if the three of us hadn't seen much of the world, we knew everything about it. After all, the most imaginative stories were told in the orphanage, from unicorns and rainbows to cruel torture in the neighboring house. But which story inspired us the most was the one that also seemed to be true. At least that's what we thought so when we were kids.
It's about a place that could only be reached at midnight sharp. Everything should be different there than here in Isya. There should be fields of flowers as far as the eye can see. Rivers that rustle like the sea and birds that chirped their songs to the sound of the wind. Things that we had never seen before and that we couldn't even dream of would be waiting for us there. Valleys, mountains, castles, forests and moors everywhere. It was almost like a new, better world. At least that's what we've been told. This place is also said to be hidden here in Elderin. Our housekeeper admonished the storytellers every time they told this story. "Don't always put such nonsense in the children's heads. After all, such a place doesn't exist!" were always her words. And even if the story didn't seem true, it lingered in our heads for a while.
A world in which we could be free. A world where injustice would not rule. A world we could just live in.
This story has been told for many years. Many have already tried to find this place, but to no avail. So he remained a legend. But like every legend, this one also got a name. The Song Of Midnight.
My name is Luma and I have been to this place with my friends Don and Natsu.- Prologue end -

So dear ones, I haven't been heard from me for a long time.
On the one hand, this was due to the fact that I just didn't have time to write AND didn't feel like it: D
Anyway, here's something new again, and I'm looking forward to your opinions on it.
Leave comments and (for me, too) criticism;)
[Character descriptions are there;)]
best regards
