Die Wege des Schicksals

Sayja ... what?

"Bulma, hurry up. Your father is already waiting outside for you.", Mrs. Briefs called after her ten year old daughter, who still made no move to come out of her room.
When she decided to look after her and headed for the stairs, she heard the door of her daughter's room slam vigorously and stomp down the long hallway. In a few moments she shot out of the corner and almost fell down the stairs in a hurry, but was able to hold on in time. Mrs. Briefs gripped her face with both hands, startled.
"Oh dear, please be so good and don't run so fast. Otherwise something will happen to you!", The motherly voice pleaded with the blue head.
"Don't worry, Ma. Doesn't happen anymore.", She soothed her mother, gave her a reconciling kiss on the cheek and swept away again. All that remained was a visibly irritated Mrs. Briefs.
"God, the kid is killing me," she muttered to herself, shaking her head.

After a few minutes, a runaway Bulma arrived outside in the garden. She looked around for her father and was very relieved to see him just a few meters away in front of her.
"Bulma, what have you been doing for so long?" Mr. Briefs asked her in a punishing voice.
"Excuse me, Pa. I finished packing my bag.", She replied apologetically and pointed with a turn at her big blue backpack, which she had strapped around her back.
"Do you have your equipment with you to go exploring?"
"Of course I am. While you are fishing, I will explore the forest.", She beamed at him full of anticipation.
She loved going out into the great outdoors with her father. Such moments were not common because her father made a name for himself as a scientist and ran the Capsule Corporation. He was up to his ears in the work. Therefore, Bulma's time together was all the more sacred. She enjoyed having his attention and exploring the world with him.
The scientist has now come to the conclusion that nothing was missing for the excursion, so he reached into the pocket of his jacket and took out a tiny capsule. He threw it to the ground and in a few moments a flying object appeared on the lawn, at the point where the capsule hit before.
This little darling was his breakthrough, thanks to her his family never had money problems again. He awarded one prize after another, quite apart from the recognition of the other colleagues.
He now entered the flying object, closely followed by his daughter. They both took a seat in the cockpit and buckled up for the flight. After Mr. Briefs thoroughly checked all functions, he looked sweaty at the blue head next to him.
"Are you ready?" Was his only question. Bulma clapped her hands excitedly, indicating to her father that she was more than that. He started the drives, slowly rose into the air and whizzed away at an indefinable speed.

It took less than twenty minutes for the letters to reach their destination. In front of them stretched a beautiful landscape of deep lakes, ice-covered mountains, spacious meadows and trees that almost reached into the sky. A miracle of the blue planet, which mankind affectionately called 'earth'. Nature was so incredibly important to human existence. But not everyone was good with this treasure. So many forests have fallen victim to human consumption. Mr. Briefs was already working with a select team on a material that would replace all of the earth's natural resources. A material that was both environmentally and health-friendly and easy to recycle. He has not yet succeeded in bringing one to the market. That would probably take him more years, but he had his goal in mind and was in good spirits to be able to master this challenge one day.

The flying object finally landed near a calm and tranquil stream. Bulma couldn't wait and jumped excitedly from inside the cockpit as soon as the hatch was down.
Mr. Briefs, too, strolled outside, but visibly more relaxed than his daughter, with his fishing gear ready in his hands.
"Do you mind if I look around a little?" Bulma burst out and elicited a fatherly smile from the scientist.
"It's good. Do you have your communications navigator with you so I can reach you in an emergency?"
"Yep, it's fully charged in my pocket," she gasped impatiently at him.
"Good. Then you can go from me. Be back here in two hours at the latest."

Bulma was no longer able to answer him, her legs carried her away. She just nodded her head vigorously, but didn't know if her father could see it. But that wasn't important at the moment. What counted was her plan of exploration, prepared down to the last detail. She had prepared a list of rare rocks that she was missing from her collection. She had been collecting diligently for several years and had already brought back some of the explorations with her father. Maybe this time she would be very lucky and find a nice piece.

She walked purposefully through the forest and checked the earth with an eagle eye for important clues to hidden rocks. Often you found special pieces where you least expected them. But today this challenge bothered her a lot, even common rock like nickel was nowhere to be found.
Sighing, the little girl gave in after half an hour of searching. She wasn't one of those people who was quick to give up, but this place just didn't seem right. Nevertheless, as if magically drawn, she strolled through the high undergrowth, overcame obstacles and regained her childlike ease at the sight of the large playground, which offered so many possibilities.

After another 10 minutes she arrived at a small stream and took a short break. She let herself fall exhausted on the pebbly ground and allowed herself to drink a few sips of the fresh stream water. In doing so, she noticed the reflection of her face, which turned her astonished and curious gaze on her. She eyed each other from all sides and found her self-braided hairstyle to be very successful. But unexpectedly her eyes wandered a little further away from her second self and discovered a strange shimmering something. Seized by the curiosity of discovery, she quickly took off her boots and stepped barefoot into the refreshing water. She stepped a little closer to the shimmer and bent down to get a better look at it. But when she realized what was hidden in the water, she believed that she was dreaming. With shaky hands she grabbed the clunky thing and carefully fished it out.
"Wow. A moon rock. Is there anything like that?" Was her violent reaction to the rock decorated with holes that looked like Swiss cheese.
A moonstone was the rarest and most sought-after material that could be found on earth. That was at the very end of her list and now she found it here, of all places, in this remote stream. If it weren't for the luck of fate.
Enthusiastic about her find, she let the material disappear into her pocket.
`Back to papa quickly. Maybe he'll be amazed. ยด, it shot through her head and the little girl quickly started to retreat.

She didn't get very far, however, because all of a sudden she heard strange noises behind her, such as the kinking of a branch when the sole of a shoe came under pressure. She looked around anxiously in the direction from which the sound was coming. However, she could not find anything conspicuous. Slowly the vivid imagination of a child began to imagine terrifying animals and monsters in her and Bulma decided to take her legs and get out of here as quickly as possible. She started running, always careful not to stumble over any obstacles. However, a small moment of inattention, which caused her to look back briefly, suddenly collided with something hard and fell rudely to the ground.
She rubbed her bare bones painfully and tried to suppress the rising tears.
"Why aren't you paying attention, Tarrakinjin?" She snapped at a boyish voice.
Bulma peeked curiously up and looked directly in the face of a strange boy who was not much older than herself. He had a strange hairstyle that protruded stubbornly upwards and strongly resembled a flame. He also wore a kind of armor that didn't seem to be typical of a child. She had never seen clothes like this before. So it couldn't be the latest craze.
But what made her even more suspicious was the small fluffy appendage that curled around his waist and twitched nervously.
Seduced by her little nose, which she had definitely inherited from her father, she hesitantly raised her hand for the fur part. But before she could get hold of it, her hand was roughly pushed away.
"Do not touch! Are you tired of life, Shojo! ", he hissed at her dangerously and took a defensive stance.
"Nobody is allowed to touch a Saiyan's tail without being asked. You are a very strange people."
"Please, who ... Saiya what?", The girl asked confused and slowly straightened up.
"SAIYAJIN!" Said the strange boy, stretched and crossed his arms.
"I've never heard of.", Bulma admitted meekly and circled the strange boy with an analyzing look. However, he remained vigilant and never let her out of his sight.
"You Tarrakians have no clue about anything!" He sneered, sniffing.
As it sounded right now, this strange boy was not from Earth. And that would mean he was a real alien!
Enthusiasm rose in the girl over her unique discovery.
Not a single person was lucky enough to meet a real alien before. She would make history and do her father all credit.
"My name is Bulma Briefs. What's your name? I would like to help you." It shot out of her like a gun.
"Pah ... I don't think you can help me. Or do you imagine that you can repair my space capsule. I think maybe not!"
"You may be right with your assertion. But my father could with certainty. He is the best scientist of all time and would have the necessary knowledge to repair your space capsule.", She said proudly and raised her nose towards the sky.
"Good, little Shojo. Then take me to this scientist. I want to convince myself of him. But first we have to get my colleague.", He said curtly and started
