I'm lying in the middle of a sidewalk, my head throbbing in pain.
I rub my head with my little hand, it's midnight, some lights are illuminating the area.
I can't think of any memory, name, face or person I know.
My thoughts have a hard time thinking about something, I have nothing to think about.
The only thing I am aware of at the moment is my childlike body as well as my being as a vampire.

A being I know approaches, I try to speak to him, to communicate with him, but I don't have the means.

I subconsciously focus on his eyes, information about his future life shining in my eyes.
Now I know who he was, what he would do and what my goal is.

His eyes translate what he says for me, they show his determination to take me in, he recognizes something in me.
I feel part of me in him, I want to stay by his side, I trust him.
Even if I don't know his past, I know his future and this is crucial.
He welcomes me knowing that I am different, that I am a threat.
I am accepted by him for his own safety, as he would like to do with anyone of my kind.

His name is Kaname Kuran, a high-ranking vampire and the only descendant of the Kuran clan.
Now he leads me to his friend, Kaien Cross, a powerful vampire hunter.
However, Cross has turned away from killing vampires, preferring to teach them with humans at a school.
The school he runs is called Cross Akademie, it is still in its infancy.
But soon I think I will visit this school, like Kaname too, there I will live and experience.
