flounder or flounder," said Robin after taking a closer look at the sculpture.
"A fish," stammered Nami.
The sweat stood on her forehead as she thought back to her dream. Wasn't it a fish or even a flounder that brought her wealth first and then misery? Shouldn't Sanji be able to see the fish? But no, she just had this stupid dream. At most, Sanji could agree with Robin what kind of fish it is.
"Nami? Are you okay? You look so pale," Luffy waved his hand in front of Nami's face.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking. Let's get all the things first, then we can look around for more characters."
"Why did you come back to that fish?" Robin asked her friend, who was staring thoughtfully at the golden fish.
"You know, Robin, I had a strange dream last night," Nami began hesitantly. "I dreamed that I lived in a little piss putt with Sanji and we were very poor. Then Sanji caught a fish and released it after learning that the fish was a haunted prince. I always have it sent away again so he can beg us for a better home. But in the end ... ", Nami sobbed. "In the end we were back at the beginning and he mocked me!"
"How did he mock you?"
"He said I got what I deserve!"
Robin frowned and said: "Sanji was still there in the end, wasn't it? Don't you think that there is a deeper meaning behind it?"
"What is the meaning behind it?"
"Maybe that Sanji is who you deserve. Your heart seems to have already made up its mind."
"Then what's the nonsense with the golden figures? Damn that I can't take them with me," Nami grumbled.
She had already tried to pick up the fish. It couldn't be moved an inch, though, although it didn't look that heavy.
"I thought you learned from it," sighed Robin and shook his head. "These characters seem to show lovers the way, I hope you know what that means."
"It won't work anyway!"
"If you're so sure, why are you still avoiding Sanji? Stop that and talk to him!"
The smoke slowly curled in the air in front of him as Sanji let the next drag of the cigarette slowly escape through his lips. He hung his head, bent. He just didn't know how to deal with it anymore. Nami didn't give him a chance. He had neither managed to be alone with her nor to be able to speak to her in peace. It was maddening. Sanji was fed up with waiting. He loved Nami, but how could he tell her if she never let him get close enough? Sanji had hoped that he could finally sort it out, but either she ignored him or they argued. A normal conversation was not possible.
"I'm not a big man, but I know what love is."
Forrest Gump
"Why am I not so sure about that?"
Startled, Sanji turned to the trembling voice as he dropped his cigarette.
"Nami?"
Nami ran his hand uncertainly over her arm, not quite sure where to look. The Smutje felt the same way. What irony! Sanji longed for a possibility to talk to her and now she was standing in front of him and he couldn't utter a word. How unfair it was.
"Nami, I think we should talk," Sanji started stammering.
"This is how the last conversations in a relationship usually begin," she smiled sadly.
"Since we're not in a relationship, it won't be the last conversation," he countered.
Again there was an unsettling silence.
Finally Sanji couldn't take it any longer and ran quickly to Nami, who backed away in shock. When she felt the railing in her back, there was no escape for her.
A tear ran down Nami's face as Sanji gently put a hand on her cheek.
"Nami, I have always loved you, I love you now too and I know that I will always love you.So why don't you want to be around me? What have I done that I can see the pain in your eyes? "
"How can I be the only one in your life when you always have eyes for other women?" She whimpered, although she felt more like screaming.
The lump in her throat choked her air and her whole temper, which she displayed so often, seemed to be washed away.
"You're jealous!", Sanji smiled and gently removed the tear that crept from Nami's eye.
"I'm not jealous!" She shrugged off his hand.
"That's right. That would only be possible if we were both a couple. You've always turned me away so I don't see any reason to stay away from other women," he replied, visibly annoyed. "I've really waited a long time, Nami. My patience is running out and since that one night I thought that you really got it. I'm ready to give you everything I have! But you got up in the early Sneaked away in the morning and avoided me ever since. Do you have any idea what that feels like? Why should I keep my heart after you've broken it? I can throw it to anyone else because you're not worthy of it! "
"That's not true!" Nami snapped. "How can a woman be sure about a Casanova like you? Do you seriously think that even one of them would put up with this?"
"You can be sure when a man saves your life and keeps you from marrying a zombie! You can be very sure when a man puts a woman before everything else and doesn't give in. You can especially then be sure if his heart beats for you even after you've kicked him! "
Sanji's bright blue eyes sparkled with passion and Nami bowed his head.
Was she so wrong about him? Shouldn't she have spoken in plain language? Wasn't it too late already?
"I just don't know what to do next. I-"
Nami instantly fell silent as Sanji put his lips on hers.
Her tears ran silently as she returned his kiss. Nami had longed so much to finally be loved by Sanji.
"The kiss is a lovable trick of nature to interrupt a conversation when words become superfluous."
Ingrid Bergmann
"If you agree," Sanji replied with a smile after he had broken away from her and she whispered these words.
"At last! It was about time! Sanji's food wasn't as tasty as usual and we kept our mouths shut because everyone else said we should stay out of it!" Luffy shouted and both of them winced together.
They weren't expecting spectators. The entire team was present.
"So it wasn't just me who noticed," smiled Robin.
"You don't have to have eyes in your head for that. Wait a minute, I don't have any eyes at all, I'm a skeleton! Yohohoho!", Brook sang while he only got a shake of the head from Zorro.
"You could have saved yourself and all of us such a sentimental nudge if you had talked to each other right away, but two stubborn heads will meet," said Zorro and shrugged his shoulders.
"What did you say, Marimo? Nami is not stubborn!", Sanji defended his love immediately.
"He's right, Sanji," Nami agreed to the swordsman and he looked at her in surprise.
“The greedy witch shares my opinion?
"I'll charge you 5,000 berrys for that insult!" She growled. "I want every 10,000 berries for the kiss, including you, Robin!"
"That is usury!"Chopper and Usopp yelled in sync.
"Some things will probably never change," Sanji laughed softly.
But it was Nami, the woman he loved and even this beautiful woman had her weaknesses. Now even one more.
"They can run away quickly when it comes to payment!" The navigator grumbled when she saw only the clouds of dust from her comrades.
Even Robin was nowhere to be seen. She was a great friend!
"Are you actually going to tell me what this golden flounder is all about? Robin said you knew why this figure is buried in the sand," Sanji asked.
Nami groaned. That's exactly what she didn't want to talk about now. She secretly cursed her friend for it.
"I'll tell you another time," she avoided.
"This is how you normally end a fairy tale," countered the blond Smutje.
"It's like a fairy tale: A pretty young woman sails with her lover towards the sunset and if they haven't died ...", Nami began and smiled, while Sanji finished her sentence: "... then you are still alive today. "
