Once Upon a Time
Prolog:
What is the soul
People have asked themselves this question since the beginning of time!
Nobody can describe it exactly and yet everyone firmly believes in its existence.
What everyone agrees on, however, is the opinion that the soul is the immortal part of every living being.
Nobody can say exactly who or what has a soul, neither prove nor completely deny.
Another complete agreement of all peoples, with regard to the soul, is the common opinion of the numerous people that demons do not have souls.
Yet these monsters were almost immortal. That aroused fear in some people and envy in others.
Once upon a time demons and humans had lived side by side and in peace. But some of them were wrong and greedy. They hungered for power and were ruthless when it came to achieving their goal.
There was such a power-hungry man in the village of Konoha, hidden behind the leaves.
A healer, highly regarded by the people of his village, but inside he was bitter and depraved, his soul as black as his hair.
He hated his own kind for their weakness, just as he despised the monsters for their persistence and strength.
At night, under cover of darkness, he went into the woods, to a widely branched system of tunnels, deep underground.
He had created his own realm and was able to work on his experiments undisturbed and in peace.
For decades he continued his cruel experiments on humans and demons under the guise of a few nobles. Looking for a way to use the strength of the monsters for yourself and to make your soul and body immortal.
The fulfillment of this endeavor was denied to him, but he ushered in a new age through his unethical experiments.
His desire for power was so great that he used himself as one of his favorite subjects. The blood of countless people and demons was shed through his hands as they fell victim to his perverse experiments.
With the help of a little boy, whom he kidnapped as a baby, he kept getting new test objects. But the boy, too, was not spared from his cruel attempts. Hidden from everyone's eyes, he had disfigured not only his soul but also his body and trained him in his craft.
Dark, deeply evil energies were drawn to this cursed place, like moths to light.
Powers, darker and older than time itself, lured by the misery that reigned in the healer's dungeons. He made use of these very powers to get closer to his goal.
He was the first of a New Kind, and he swore to judge all those he hated so much.
On the particularly dark, moonless nights, one could hear the tortured screams of the ghosts of his deceased victims echoing from the forest.
The healer never returned to his village. It is said that his spirit still roams the Dark Forests today in search of new victims.
With a tremendous explosion inside the mountain, the first creatures appeared in the cities of man, as well as in Konoha.
Deformed, mutated figures, sometimes half human and half animal, haunted the settlements under cover of darkness.
Fearful, the people left the mountain and rebuilt their village on the edge of the forest, hoping to be safe there.
From then on, the aristocrats also lived in fear of demons, fearing that they would eventually take revenge for their brothers and sisters.Nobody knew the real extent of the atrocities that had happened in the sadistic healer's dark caves. But nobody wanted to enter the dark corridors to have this certainty. So the healer and his victims were finally forgotten. A couple of winters passed and the first halflings were born.
All of this happened so long ago that hardly anyone remembers it.
Over the centuries, lies and stories have supplanted the truth and people still live today in fear of the demons.
They are so afraid of the monsters that they cast out their own children if they have demonic blood in them.
So these children are left to their own devices, condemned to this day to eke out their existence in exile.

Salute you love!
After years of doing nothing, I finally managed to fabricate something again.
I hope the prologue has made you a little curious and is well received.
I was inspired for this little beginning, the song "Wenn Engel Hassen" by Subway to Sally.
Maybe someone is interested ^^
Until the first chapter, then, my co-conspirators.
Your Vex.
