Der Hüter des Schatzes

opened the hiding place, took a look in the kettle, l to fight his fears. Still, it took him three days to make a statement. No matter how many thalers disappeared through invisible hands, exactly at midnight, the copper vessel filled again to the brim. Actually, Jaken should be reassured now, but he took his task very seriously and seldom left his hiding place. Now he made it his business to find out who stole his thalers every day.

The greenish creature with the pointed mouth ran through the forest a few days later, stooped, crawled under a tall fern and hid behind a fallen tree a long time ago. He carefully peered over the moss-covered trunk in one direction and observed the actions of the human being, which had been scouring the area for several hours."What does she want here? Is she looking for my cauldron?" He asked himself in silence and did not take his eyes off the creature, watched how she stood in the middle of the meadow, in the middle of the old forest, and she tried to orientate herself. As she pondered which direction to take next, she pondered the reason for being here. The area with its untouched nature should inspire you for your new story.
She breathed in the fresh air, enjoyed the silence and continued on her way while Jaken hurried to his home.

The gnome sat in his cave waiting for this little human being who had invaded his territory, clutching the head staff tightly with both of his hands. Towards evening he heard wood cracking softly nearby, as if something had stepped on it and broke it under its weight. Thereupon Jaken peered carefully into the open, no one could see. So he stayed on guard.
Quiet, barely audible steps approached the entrance.
With the determination to protect the thalers and not to let any living creature into his quarters, he raised his staff, activated the old man's head and let him spit fire.

Sesshomaru, who was returning to Musashi to pick up Ah-Uhn and Jaken, only found out from his brother that the gnome had already started his journey to the west several days ago. The frog-like creature disappeared into the night, only leaving a note to announce its absence. Due to prolonged rain, the search was unsuccessful and so Inuyasha sent a messenger to the elder, who only arrived there after the western prince had left.
Sesshomaru ended his affair, hurried to the east, now learned of the absence of his servant and so he went in search of Jaken himself. Since he roamed the area, smelled the smell of it and followed the trail, but the trail kept overlapping. In addition, people often crossed his path. That's why it took him so long to find Jaken.
Now he stood in front of the cave, called the servant's name and suddenly found himself facing a wall of fire. He instinctively protected himself with his demonic energy to keep the burns down. Blackened with soot and visibly annoyed, he grabbed it with his claw, snatched the staff from the gnome and used it against Jaken. The attacked was thrown across the small clearing and lay dazed by a tree.
No sooner had the short man regained his senses than he understood the extent of his actions, threw himself on the ground at his master's feet and apologized incessantly.

Sesshomaru paid him no attention, just looked at the area. He had achieved his goal of finding Jaken and now he wanted to leave. However, something bothered him.
"That smell," said the demon quietly and looked around. He met this person who had sneaked around here before. Wasn't that one of the countless authors who just spread lies about him?
"What was she doing in the area?" Asked Sesshomaru. Should he take the chance and get revenge on her? But luck seemed to be on her side. Suddenly there was no trace of it and he got the impression that the area was losing its mystical charm.
Since she had disappeared and, despite his good senses, he no longer felt her presence, he turned to his little servant.
"Let's go, Jaken!" He asked.
Usually the gnome followed immediately, but this time he refused. "What about the treasure?", Which caused his master's displeasure.
The silver-white-haired man looked down at the greenish creature from above, so that it ducked.
"It doesn't belong to you," replied Sesshomaru with a hint of impatience in his voice.
"But", Jaken started an objection and received a stern look. At the same time the hand of the stronger demon began to shimmer green.Understanding the hint, albeit very reluctantly, the gnome ran after his master and crashed into his legs.
The western ruler stopped again, turned and looked at the cave. He picked up his sword and drew it three fingers from its scabbard. Then he changed his mind. 'That doesn't affect me,' he thought and kept walking without having destroyed the entrance to the cave.

The gnome took the opportunity, grabbed the dog demon's fur, determined not to let go. As soon as he felt the softness, he snuggled close to it. 'So soft,' he muttered in his mind, and the more they moved away from the place, the less the urge to protect this treasure became. Soon he forgot his adventure as if it had never happened.
Because there was a different guardian for a long time and the thalers dwindled every day, only to be ready again in full at midnight.
