Chapter: encounter
It was a sunny morning. Miroku was on the way to the spring to wash himself when he saw Inuyasha walking in front of him on the path. "Hey Inuyasha, wait. I'll come with you!" He shouted and ran faster. The half-demon turned and Miroku was startled. "You are not Inuyasha at all. You are ... beautiful!" He shouted and pulled the girl to him. This seemed less enthusiastic about it, pushed him away and gave him a resounding slap in the face. "The little one has a strong right hook ..." thought Miroku, but he wasn't particularly surprised by her reaction. In his long career as a womanizer he had encountered such behavior several times. Only now did he take a closer look at the girl. The mix-up was not surprising. She looked very much like Inuyasha. "Well, maybe it's your ears ..." he mused. She too seemed to be a dog demon, or at least a half demon. "If she were the mother of my children, our offspring would also be partly demonic ...".Miroku was torn from his thoughts when the girl spoke to him. "Did you just call me Inuyasha?" she asked him and looked at him suspiciously. "Uh yes, I mistook you. I ..." he began. "Do you know Inuyasha?" she interrupted him. Miroku was more than surprised at how this conversation went. How should he flirt with this beautiful creature when she kept asking him questions about Inuyasha? "Yes, I know Inuyasha. We're traveling together. Why? Do you know him too?" He asked. "Yes!" She burst out. But then she looked down. "No, I don't know him. Do you know where I can find him?", She said and looked at him pleadingly with her deep green eyes. "How could I resist a look like that? Come with me. I'll bring you to him.", Miroku replied and hooked the puzzled girl. "How rude of me," he began. "I haven't even introduced myself. My name is Miroku. I'm a monk. And what's your name, my beauty?"The person opposite stopped and looked at him skeptically." You are a monk? Are you wrong in your job? "She asked doubtfully." I admit that I have a great weakness for women, but that has to do with my difficult fate. In spite of all this, I am a very capable monk. ", Miroku replied seriously." I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. My name is linn ", she apologized." Linn ... what a beautiful name for a beautiful ... "-" Oh, hello Miroku. Who is that? "Shippo interrupted him. The two had already reached the small clearing. Kagome and Sango also looked up from their activities and studied the newcomer. Shippo had already hopped up to Linn and tugged at her robe." Who are you? Where are you from? What do you want? You're a demon too, aren't you? I saw that straight away ... ", it gushed out of him. Linn seemed to be really uncomfortable and she backed away."Leave her alone immediately, Shippo! She just arrived.", Miroku reprimanded him, grabbed the little fox demon by the collar and pulled him away from her. "But the question is legitimate," interjected Sango. "Who are you and why are you here?" - "Her name is Linn and she is looking for Inu Yasha.", Miroku replied. He looked around. "Where is Inuyasha actually?" - "He's exploring the area.", Kagome replied. "Why are you looking for Inuyasha? Do you know him? You look somehow similar to him ..." - "I think that's because of the ears.", Sango whispered. "I don't know Inuyasha. I heard about him and then went looking for him.", Linn replied firmly. "And what do you want from him?" Kagome asked suspiciously. "You're not after the shards of jewels, are you, or did Naraku send you?" - "Which shards of jewels and who is Naraku? No, it has nothing to do with these things. I just had to find him! And what are you doing at all? " said Linn snuggly."You have to excuse the behavior of the others, Linn. We're all a bit suspicious of strangers at the moment ..." Miroku began. - "Exactly, Miroku is so suspicious that he has to check every stranger carefully ..." Sango whispered. Kagome couldn't suppress a chuckle. Miroku looked threateningly at the two of them and then continued: "... We are looking for the fragments of the jewel of the four souls and we have to deal with many enemies. So maybe you can understand why everyone is here so carefully want to take the magnifying glass. "-" I've heard of the jewel of the four souls before and I've also heard that it broke. But why are you looking for the splinters? ", Linn asked perplexed. "Because the splinters do bad things. Especially when they are in the wrong hands," Sango replied bitterly. "That's why we all have to find splinters." Linn asked. All looked puzzled. "Yes, what do we do when we have found all the jewel shards?" began Shippo."We have to destroy it!" said Sango. "Inuyasha won't like that. He wants to use the jewel to become a full-fledged demon." Miroku pointed out. "Can you use the jewel to become a full-fledged demon?" Linn asked, fascinated. "Yes, but I don't think Inuyasha is aware that anyone who has used the jewel until now has only caused damage. If Inuyasha really gets the jewel, he may not be the same afterwards.", said Miroku thoughtfully. "Oh, we can always think about that when the time comes," said Kagome uncomfortably. "Don't you want to finally tell us what you want from Inuyasha? ..." - "Who wants what from me?" Everyone turned around. Nobody had noticed Inuyasha appearing in the clearing. "You have a visitor, Inuyasha." Shippo whistled and giggled. Linn had got up and was now standing in front of Inuyasha as if struck by lightning. This looked at her carefully. "Who are you?" He asked suspiciously. For a moment Linn just stared at him, then she stammered: "I ... I ... I'm your sister!" It seemed as if everyone was holding their breath. No sound could be heard until suddenly: "WHAT ???" shouted Kagome, startled. "Your sister? But that ... Inuyasha! Why did you never tell us that you also have a sister? I noticed the similarity right away!" Inuyasha said nothing. He stood there frozen and didn't move. "Inuyasha, don't you want to say hello to your sister?", Miroku asked reproachfully. Only now did Inuyasha turn. "BUT I HAVE NO SISTER AT ALL!" He yelled with sparkling eyes. Linn looked at him in shock and then ran away sobbing. "Make way!", Kagome shouted and Inuyasha kissed the cold forest floor. "Mmpf, what was that supposed to mean, Kagome?" Inuyasha scolded angrily after plucking the grass out of his mouth. "You stupid wooden head. Now you've hurt her feelings!" Kagome snarled angrily."I ... but ... I really don't have a sister." Inuyasha grumbled. "But she looked so much like you!" Shippo squeaked. Inuyasha shot him a menacing look. "Sister or not. You made her cry. Go to her and fix it!" Kagome snarled. "Kagome is right. The poor thing was completely upset. And if you don't go, I'll just look for her.", Miroku said. "Typical ..." Sango hissed. Inuyasha snorted in exasperation but then turned and stomped towards the forest. Why did Kagome always have to tell him what to do? And why did he even get involved? Her influence had already softened him completely. It was time he finally led the lonely life of a real demon again. Immediately after he found the jewel of the four souls ... And how could he find a completely strange girl in the dark forest? He tried to imagine her picture in his mind's eye. Maybe he should take in her scent. But how should he know what it smelled like? Inuyasha started sniffing anyway. For a while he ran like this through the forest without noticing anything conspicuous. But suddenly an unusual smell rose in his nose. He looked somehow familiar. He was sure it wasn't the smell of one of his friends. Was it his own? It couldn't be! He began to follow the smell and after a while he heard soft sobs from close by. It was a female sob. And then he saw her. Linn sat crouched against a tree like a pile of misery, her head in her hands and sobbing. And once again Inu Yasha's soft heart stirred, as it always did when he saw a girl cry. He crept up to her quietly and then sat up in front of her with his arms crossed. "Now stop crying!" He said gruffly. Linn looked up startled and then sobbed even more heartbreakingly. That was really too much!Inuyasha knelt on the floor next to her. "Oh, ..., now stop crying, please. I can't stand it when a girl cries. What's wrong with you?" He stammered helplessly. "You don't believe me!" Linn whimpered and threw himself sobbing into his arms. Inuyasha was completely taken by surprise and with the best will in the world didn't know what to do with this trembling something. And then there was that smell again. It triggered something in him. Carefully he put his arms around Linn. She snuggled up against him and continued to cry softly. He gently stroked her hair. "What am I doing here anyway?", He thought, but he didn't stop and over time Linn's sobs grew quieter. After a while Inuyasha pulled herself together and asked, "Can we talk about this sibling thing again now?" No Answer. Linn fell asleep. A smile played on Inu Yasha's lips. Carefully he picked up Linn and carried her back to the clearing. The others were already asleep, only Kagome was still sitting by the fire."It seems to me that you have spoken out. Is she your sister or not?" She asked eagerly. "I don't know." Inuyasha whispered and that was true. He was insecure. "Linn can sleep with me and Sango. It might not be a good idea to let them sleep with Miroku.", She said with a wink. "You could be right about that ...", Inuyasha replied and carried Linn over to the sleeping place next to Sango and carefully laid her on the soft surface. Then he covered her up, looked at her thoughtfully, and then went to sleep himself.
