Fanfic: Linn
out.
"Spell it!" She said demanding.
An evil growl came from the demon's throat."Grr, if I could ... I would ...", he cursed, but Linn's right eyebrow rose and Sesshoumaru saw the chances of hearing the melody again receding into the distance.
"B-I-T-T-E!" He choked out weakly.
So now she had it in her hand. That was definitely still expandable. What the dog chain was to Inuyasha was a song to his demonic brother. A few minutes ago she would never have dreamed of such a turn of events.
But maybe she shouldn't upset him too much. Eventually his wounds would heal and as she had met him by now, Sesshoumaru was sure to be resentful. So Linn gave herself a jerk and started humming her tune again. The effect was immediate. Sesshoumaru's features smoothed and again a fleeting smile crossed his face.
He mumbled something unintelligible and then closed his eyes contentedly.A few moments later he fell asleep.
Over the next two days, Sesshoumaru's condition improved noticeably. Whether it was the medicinal herbs or Linn's melody was not quite clear to either of them and they no longer talked about it. They talked very little to each other anyway. In the beginning Linn had tried to do a little small talk now and then, but Sesshoumaru was probably not up for that. Either he just scowled at her or fed her with monosyllabic comments. He must have really hated being stuck here with her. Linn felt anything but welcome. She had to admit that she was a little disappointed. Of course she didn't expect Sesshoumaru to kiss her feet out of sheer gratitude, but he could have been a bit more friendly towards her. Mainly because she always took pity on singing something to him to fall asleep. The first time she felt pretty stupid, but now she even enjoyed watching her melody soothe the otherwise cold sesshoumaru. So deep down there really seemed to be something that reacted so strongly to something as delicate as music. However, Linn feared that Sesshoumaru would do everything to never let this something come to the surface.
Besides, she was now thinking of the others more and more often. They had been separated for almost a week now. If she didn't leave soon, she would never be able to regain her lead, if she could find her trail at all. Sesshoumaru seemed strong enough now and she would probably be doing him a favor by leaving anyway. Your decision was made. After changing the bandage on Sesshoumaru one last time, she packed her things and got ready to leave."So, I'll be on my way again now, if you don't mind. I've already lost way too much time," she said as casually as possible.
Sesshoumaru didn't seem to have heard her or maybe he ignored her again, in any case he didn't answer but just sat leaning against a tree and stared silently into the distance. That was typical again!
So now the time had come. His agony should finally come to an end. The tormentor of Half-Blood had apparently actually made up his mind to label him as a hopeless case and wanted to leave him now. If he hadn't feared that this would change her mind after all, he would have jumped in the air for joy. For a proud demon like him, was there anything worse than being mothered by a girl? Hardly likely! He should have done her when he first had the chance. But then she had surprised him. And he had to grudgingly admit that she had done it again. Whenever he looked at her, he had a strange feeling. Again he felt that lump in his throat. He was still out of shape. Or did he get soft?
No never!!
Then why had he allowed her to exercise such power over him with just a simple melody? He just couldn't fight it.
As if on command, these familiar sounds now reached his ear. No, she did it again! He looked up and saw Linn leaving the clearing to the west, humming softly in front of him. As if guided by a strange hand, he jumped up and followed her. In a few leaps he reached her and stood in her way.
"Before you go ..." he began.
Damn it! She should have left when Sesshoumaru hadn't regained her strength. Now he stood menacingly in his full size before her and stared at her.Now he was going to take revenge for the fact that she had given him such a trick on singing at the beginning. He would just shred her without blinking an eyelid and then probably eat her remains for lunch. Once again she wondered why she hadn't just listened to Inuyasha this once without having to assert her thick head. She got it now. Goodbye beautiful world ...
But no, she wouldn't give up that easily. After all, Sesshoumaru was not in top form yet. Maybe she had a chance if she suddenly attacked him and surprised him with it. He would probably not expect any resistance at all.
In a flash she let out her fist and was on the verge of sinking it directly onto Sesshoumaru's nose, but he blocked it with one skillful move and held it tight. Apparently his responsiveness hadn't been damaged. Damn it...Okay, she tried everything. Linn closed her eyes and prepared for the end.
But nothing happened. What happened? She could still feel Sesshoumaru's tight grip on her wrist. Maybe he made her fidget. He wanted to torment her. Well, wonderful, she had run into a sadist.
After a few seconds, during which she was still unharmed, she dared to open her eyes a crack. As expected, Sesshoumaru was still standing right in front of her, staring at her. But his look struck her as strange. She had never met a sadist before, but somehow she had imagined their looks to be different. At the moment Sesshoumaru looked intimidating but not threatening to her. But then he opened his mouth again. Well, the look was probably just a cover ...
"...Thanks"
That was all he said and yet it threw Linn off course more than ten bloodthirsty demons at once.Sesshoumaru had just thanked her. The sesshoumaru who had already ignored, verbally abused and almost eaten her. It couldn't all be true. She had probably passed out from panic and was hallucinating.
But Sesshoumaru was still there and now ... he shook her hand too. Since she didn't know how to best behave in such a crazy situation, she grinned slightly and replied:
"Oh, you're welcome."
If he wasn't already doing it, now he must have thought she was completely insane. Let's get out of here!
"Well, see you. Bye!", She mumbled helplessly to herself, waved again briefly in the direction of Sesshoumaru and then ran as fast as she could into the forest. What remained was a rather perplexed Sesshoumaru. And while he saw Linn disappear into the forest, a tiny smile escaped him, which one would not have noticed even with a magnifying glass.
