Chapter: life and death

life and death

Finally, my first fanfiction is done. Had wanted to write one for a long time, but had no time to do so because of school, etc. The fic takes place a few years after the Boo saga. Trunks is now 18 years and Bra 8 years. The fic has nothing to do with "Bulma's death, Vegeta's thoughts afterwards" and is not copied or anything. I had already started mine when I was reading the other. The headline doesn't quite fit either, but I couldn't think of a better one.

Remain silent. The rain poured down from the sky, soaking their clothes. They were wet to the skin. They took no notice of the rain except for an involuntary tremor. They didn't want to go. They wanted to stay until the end. The cold wind surrounded the guests, blew through their clothes and in their hair.
The man in the black suit held the flowers tightly in his hand, he wasn't listening to the priest. Then he noticed that some of them were crying.Isolated tears ran down his cheeks, too, but he hadn't realized them until now. Guilt, anger, and hopelessness filled his heart. Goku swallowed because his throat was dry.
He could not stand it any longer and grasped the flowers in his hand even tighter. He almost crushed her. It was too painful, too agonizing. More and more warm tears fell from his face and mixed with the rain. He felt for all of them, especially 3 people, for what they had lost.
His eyes met him. His face was dark and expressionless. In his right hand he had a small bouquet of red roses, the other was clenched in a fist and hung heavily from his body. To lose someone who was so close to him, the pain weighed heavily on him. You could see it clearly in his empty eyes, which stared rigidly at the pastor. His son stood next to him. He was holding his little sister, who was crying her eyes on his shoulder. He didn't want to cry. He wanted to look brave, but he couldn't. Again and again new tears found their way through his eyes and ran down his cheeks. As often as he wiped them away, they kept coming back.
Goku moved his gaze to the family. The mother's face was pained. She held her hands in front of it and cried. Her husband had a comforting arm around her shoulders. He looked like he hadn't slept in weeks. They both looked very, very old.
He turned his head until he saw a group of 7 people, a pig and a flying cat. His best friend since childhood and his wife and daughter stood under an umbrella. Maron had individual strands of her hair on her face, which had stuck there with the tears. She already had very red eyes, just like her father, who was holding his wife in his arms. A tear also ran down C18's face. That was the first time she'd been seen crying.
The old man and the pig were under a different umbrella. As always, the old man was wearing sunglasses. You couldn't tell how he was doing, but if he wasn't on his glasses, you would see that he too was a pure mourning figure.
The flying cat sat on her best friend's shoulder. The tears just rolled down her. Her best friend and the other two people were very relaxed and at first glance you might think they were unmoved, but they weren't. Under the facade of serenity were pain and feelings of loss that were familiar feelings. The taller bald man looked into his eyes, he looked away, unable to deal with what had happened.
He stopped staring and found himself looking at his family. All five had black circles under their eyes, like almost everyone else. Sorrow, worry, and sadness were reflected on their faces. His little granddaughter had clung tight to her mother. She didn't cry. She wanted to look as brave as her parents. Pity spread over her, pity for her best friend who had lost her mother.
The two Namekians weren't there. But they watched everything from God's palace. Dende was also sad. He was very fond of Bulma. He cursed himself for not making the Dragon Balls any better. His eyes filled with tears. Popo took him in his arms and tried to comfort him. Piccolo just stood rigid and looked down at the earth. No matter how much he resisted it, he would miss Bulma. He liked the way that Vegeta was sometimes insane. He would never admit it, but it did.

Son Goku remembered the first time he met Bulma. They were both still kids and had had so many adventures together since then. And now it was all over.
His eyes got wet again and he wiped the tears away, but they kept coming back.
'I'm sorry Bulma ...'
The pastor was almost finished. "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. God gives and God takes." He added some consolation to the last part. He threw some ashes in the grave and walked away.

'God gives and God takes. 'That was Goku's answer to everything. Deal with it, live with it, move on with your life.

He walked slowly towards the grave and tossed the few yellow roses into it. The others followed the procedure. Vegeta, Trunks and Bra were the last. Vegeta placed his bouquet on the grave, then quickly walked away. Trunks and his sister also put the flowers up there and then quickly followed their father.

Son-Goku went away too, he wanted to be alone, but he felt something on his arm. He turned around and saw that it was Chichi. He hugged her tightly and she started crying out loud. She pressed closer and closer to him. She couldn't bear that her friend was no longer there, that she just left like that.
The others also came to him. Everyone knew that the next time would be very difficult and therefore they would need each other more than ever. Vegeta, Trunks and Bra in particular needed all the help they could now. Vegeta would never admit it and refuse any help, because his pride forbade him to accept help, but he too could not have a clear thought for days since the accident and was therefore dependent on help.

Memories of the day are always painful, but you had to accept it and live with it.

The whole Z-Team was at an opening ceremony for a new, huge amusement park in the western capital. Only Vegeta wasn't there because he didn't feel like doing something like that and preferred to train. It was late when Bulma and Bra left the party. Trunks had gone home a while ago to exercise with his father.Son-Goku had offered Bulma to take her and Bra home quickly, but she declined because it wasn't very far.

It was already midnight and very dark (no, how logical) and Bulma and Bra were not far from the Capsule Corp. As they were crossing a street, a car drove up and its driver was completely drunk. Bulma instinctively pushed Bra away. One blow and it happened ...

Bra ran back to the party screaming and crying for help. Everyone else was still there. Goku quickly flew Bulma to the hospital and the others were there within minutes. Immediately afterwards, she was taken to the intensive care unit. Chichi called Bulma at home. Vegeta, Trunks and Dr. and Mrs. Briefs there. Vegeta and Trunks had flown in as fast as they could and took Bulma's parents with them. Piccolo and Dende also suddenly appeared. They had watched everything from God's palace.

Everyone waited to hear what happened to Bulma and stayed all night. When the doctor came out he said it was too late. She had broken ribs and bones, had internal bleeding, and had severe brain injuries. She wouldn't survive the next two hours.

Everyone was shocked. Bulma's mother gasped and started crying. Her husband tried to calm her down. Vegeta was frozen, unable to move. Bra clutched her brother tightly and began to cry out loud. She was almost screaming. Trunks just stood there, like his father. He didn't know what to do. His knees went weak. He sagged.
Vegeta grabbed the doctor by the shoulders. "No, that can't be! You must be wrong! Bulma will get well again, she MUST get well again!" He yelled at the doctor and grabbed him tighter and tighter that he grimaced in pain. Son-Goku intervened and brought Vegeta away from the doctor, who was rubbing his aching shoulder. Then he turned to him. "Can we see her?" "No, it would ..." "Please!" "Okay."

Everyone went into the room. Bulma's family stood around the bed next to their unconscious daughter. Her face was bruised and badly worn. Her head was bandaged. You couldn't see much of her body, it was better for everyone. Nobody could have coped with seeing all of their injuries. Various tubes ran from her nose, neck and arms to a machine. A second machine took her pulse and it looked like she was very close to death. Her eyes were closed, her body still, lifeless.

Bulma's parents whispered to her, begging her not to die. She did not answer. Finally her father brought her mother out when she was crying uncontrollably. The entire Z-Team was motionless, unsure of what to say or do.

Vegeta went to her. He knelt beside her bed and held her cold, white hand.At that moment he didn't care if others were watching him. He just wanted his Bulma to open her eyes again. His eyes were blank. “Bulma,” he whispered, his voice low and for the first time pain could be heard in it. "Don't leave me. We need you. Your children need you ....... I need you ...... don't leave us alone."

Everyone turned their head away. Nobody could see Vegeta, the strong and proud Saiyan prince, kneeling on the floor. You could feel sorry for him. He had seen his father killed and his home planet exploded. And now he was going to lose the person who had filled his life with love again.

Vegeta stopped and got up. He left the room quickly, which was understandable. Trunks wanted to run after him, but Goku stopped him and just shook his head, which meant that
