At the time of the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai, the supposed enemies met for the first time. When Tenshinhan, Chao-Zu, Kuririn and Yamcha rioted in the preliminary rounds, Reiji intervened to settle the dispute.(to no avail) He defeated Pam Put and faced Son Goku in the round of 16. He let the fight go out in favor of Goku and let him win. (his combat strength at that time was 180)
