Chapter: A new threat (2)

The millennium puzzle was shown on the card.
> What do you mean? <, asked Yami. Marik grinned. > Very simple, Pharaoh. Maximillian Pegasus has heard of your success with the three Egyptian god cards. But that's not all: Whenever one of my monsters destroys one of yours, half of your monster's attack points are added to my life points!<Marik laughed again in the cruel way. Everything was incomprehensible to Yugi. Why had Marik returned from the Realm of Shadows? And how? And why did he feel weaker when he lost life?

Yami pulled. 'I sacrifice', he said, 'my knight of the boy and play the black magician (2500/2300)!It's over, Marik! Attack! <The black magician raised his staff and lowered it on Marik. There was an explosion and - Yami stood there perplexed. > Where's my Black Magician? What did you do to him, Marik ?! <The dust settled. "It's my turn," said Marik. > The first thing Obelisk returns to your cemetery is, but it did its job, right? Now I play my monster crossbowman (400/300). It has the power to attack your life points directly. At the end I play a card face down again. Your turn, Pharaoh. <What should I do, thought Yugi, I still have 2100 life points, but if I can't think of anything in six moves, it's over! Everything now depends on the next card ...
Yugi pulled, looked at the map, and smiled. > First I call up my Kuribo (300/200) in defense mode. <Marik had another fit of laughter. But even though it closed again, you could see a shadow, then a screech and then a double-headed mouth of a blood-red, giant dragon.

And now, Slaifer, attack his crossbowman! <Slaifer opened his lower, large mouth and spat a beam of light against Marik's monster. > Stop! I reveal my face down card, mirror of the enemy! This will irrevocably redirect your attack back to you! <
The beam of light came straight at Yugi. This one was hit in such a way that a second later he was lying on his back and barely had the strength to get up. Marik laughed again. > Pharaoh! You only have a whopping 100 life points. You're due on my next move! <> I wouldn't be so sure about that! <Yami pulled himself up at the console, recovered.> I play the magic card magic arrow on your millennium puzzle! <> And what use is that to you? <> Now you have to bring a monster into play, thanks to your Genesis Chamber! <2: Oh damn it! shouted Marik. > The only monsters I have with the level are Ducks of Desolation (600/100)! And when those are destroyed, the next one comes into play! <> And thanks to Slaifer's special ability, they are destroyed in one go! <The first duck came into play. Slaifer destroyed them and Yugi got 300 life points thanks to the Millennium Puzzle. This happened three more times. > So. You will now get your millennium puzzle back for the time being. And I get a whopping 1200 life points that you lose! <But briefly they were distracted by something else. The millennium scales on the Pegasus desk began to glow. Pegasus grabbed his head and screamed. Yugi's Millennium Puzzle also lit up, but he felt nothing. The realm of shadows disappeared out of nowhere.The monsters lit up and disappeared. Yami was completely confused for a moment. Then instinctively he looked at the door of the arena.
Kaiba, in a long black coat, stood by the door with the millennium staff in hand. He had a strange, greedy, and icy look. > Marik! You let it get too far! Yugi shouldn't call out his god cards, you failed! <Pegasus turned his head to Kaiba, twitching in agony. > I did what I could! Your strategy didn't work. <Kaiba gave a strange, icy laugh. > You stupid idiot, it was planned that way. Yugi is now weakened. Now I can take it on! <2: Then you stole the other millennium cards? <> Yes. And now get lost where you came from. Off to the realm of shadows! <Kaiba pointed the millennium staff at Pegasus. It lit up for a moment, then Pegasus fell to his knees. The millennium symbol was gone. > Where ... where am I here? he muttered. But Yami ignored him.He just looked at Kaiba in shock, who was now fixing him with the stick.
