0 ~ Far Farlindon[Far Farlindon]- Prologue

Dewdrops glittered on the tall grass, the sun had just risen over the old trees and bathed the vast steppe in a golden-red light. The first birds woke up and let their happy chirps echo across the plain.

Not far from this steppe, only a few golden rays of sun fell through the dense branches of the bleak forest, which lay on the edge of the Misty Mountains. Under the tall trees two young princely sons rode almost silently on their horses and did not speak a word. Her eyes were always looking around for danger.
In the past centuries an ominous silence had descended on the forest, no one dared to express their thoughts or assumptions for fear of being accused of suspicious beliefs.

One of the two riders was Prince Legolas, King Thranduil's son. He accompanied his best friend Aryon to his hometown of Farlond, where the Mirkwood Elf himself had never been. The way there was long and full of dangers. It would take you several weeks to travel.

Legolas, slender and graceful, wore his long, blond hair that fell loose over his back. The hair above his pointy ears was artfully braided, according to the custom of the gloomy forest. His riding clothes were very similar to those of the rangers, his skirt and trousers were in dark green and brown tones. He carried his bow and quiver on his back, his short sword tucked into his belt holster. His light blue eyes searched the thick branches for hidden enemy scouts. His companion meanwhile steered his horse next to him. Aryon of Farlond was the son of a prince from the far north-west, to be precise he was born in Farlindon.
Aryon was tall and muscular. He owed his light blonde hair and dark blue eyes to his Vanyar parentage on his father's side.

His mother was a Noldor and cousin of Galadriel, which is why King Thranduil had treated him cooler than other traveling elves. Most recently, however, he had at least changed his mind against him and recognized him as a friend of the family.

The two young gentlemen, as they had been called by an ambassador and henceforth called themselves jokingly with it, had been traveling for several years. They had not been home for a long time and even now after a year stay in Legolas hometown, Mirkwood, the wanderlust Legolas and Aryon had moved on. Aryon had grown up by the sea and his longing for the salty air and the beach had grown stronger in the last few days, so they decided to leave for Farlindon. The light hair fell slightly on his face. In the many cities and places she had visited, they had also come across many Elven girls. Many of these girls thought he was aloof. Aryon wasted not a single thought in looking for a companion and settling down in the homeland.

King Thranduil's strong urge to finally marry his son and become king had shown him once again how much he loved his freedom.

They rode for almost three whole weeks before they were given the imposing view of the sea and the Anarsil Castle behind the blue mountains.

The sun was high in the sky and an oppressive sultriness was in the air.
The last rest was hours ago and the last lembas used up. In silence they rode one behind the other and Aryon led the way. Legolas had literally fallen into a short wake sleep and was listening to the forest. After a short time he heard a voice, a chant, that attracted him.He looked around in a trance and saw a tall, slender woman with dark, flowing hair standing between the trees. Her clothes were bright white and silver jewelry glaringly reflected the sunlight. It got so bright that you had to put your hand in front of your eyes. Suddenly she disappeared and Legolas woke up with a painful palpitation of the heart.

Legolas stopped his horse with a jerk and Aryon reflexively pulled the reins.

"Man garo ech, Legolas?(What do you have, Legolas?)" asked Aryon.
"Dato! Anno nin îdh!(Stop! Be quiet !!)[/i]", he whispered back and listened intently into the silence of the forest. But the strange singing voice of the woman he had heard was gone.
When nothing happened, he gave his horse a light kick in the flanks. Immediately it set in motion and Aryon's horse followed immediately.

They left the forest of the blue mountains and dashed into a green clearing, which was brightly lit before the sun.Aryon found it difficult to catch up with Legolas.
"Man garo ech, Legolas?[I](What have you, Legolas?)
"

"Law. Hwîn (No, just a feeling of dizziness)", he replied.

Then they quickly crossed the blue mountains. Only a few hours later they stopped on a green ledge. Immediately, Aryon's gaze became wistful. At his feet was his home, Farlindon.
