Fanfic: Cold Sunshine
Chapter: A cold sunshine
My first handmade Shonen-Ai FF ...
I'm totally jittery because I don't know how it is and whether I can do it at all.
I dedicate this FF:
RoterFuchs, Anna, Babs (if she wants to be mentioned), Seta_Kaita, Readfluffy, Chi_Yuna and Merietamun ... they don't know anything about it, but okay XD
I made 2 endings so that everyone can choose what they prefer. ^ - ^ (To the friendly picking of my reader (so that other people don't think too) Kazuki did not reveal his age but only wrote 19XX, so you don't know how old Yugi is let alone how old Yami is, so this part is my artistic freedom left) Oh yes ... the deadline ending is where Yami wants to die and the second is at the end of this chapter XD
Yami looked through the wire fence over the town of Domino. The sun was just setting and threw one last, weak light over the roofs of the houses and bathed the streets in a pleasant shade of red.A gentle wind came up, already slightly cooled, so that it no longer gave pleasant warmth, as it had during the whole day. One could hear the lively chirping of some birds as they rose into the air, gently landed again, and searched for food. A small sparrow perched on the top crossbar of the fence and gave a happy squeak. Then he jumped to the side and back again, as if he wanted to entertain Yami with his lively dance.
But Yami felt nothing more than an oppressive emptiness, which only suppressed the unpleasant thoughts that had been tormenting his mind for days. Questions that pounded on him and numbed his senses and this cursed fight inside, which threatened to tear him raging and seething, just as his heart was almost cut in half. What was he? - No more than a weak soul, which was only able to continue to exist in this world as a kind of parasite in the mind of another, a sorrow and agonizing parasite that gradually destroyed its host from within. And that's why he would leave, because if he stayed he would leave irreparable damage to Yugi's soul and the last thing he wanted was to cause the little one pain. They were much closer to each other than it was good for both of them, so he had to end it before they crossed the final line. The two would only walk a short distance of their way together, Yami felt that very well in the depths of his torn heart. He turned his gaze to one side and looked at Yugi. They had recently spoken out and Yami now knew how things were for both of them. Yugi had always stood in Yami's shadow and thus never had the opportunity to grow and develop. Images were painfully engraved in Yami's memory, images of Yugi looking up at him with a pained look, suffering from the fate that Yami had imposed on him. Yugi wanted him to leave and if Yami was honest with himself, he was too tired to continue to exist in this world. Not only his conscience plagued him, the strength he once possessed was also weighed out of his soul, he had lived far too long now and longed for rest and sleep. Yugi knew that, he could feel it, just as Yami was able to feel most of Yugi's feelings and so they both had mutually agreed that it would be best for them when Yami finally died. They would do one last rehearsal together and then it was time to say goodbye.
Yami was scared. Indescribable fear of this moment, because he knew his own weakness and knew exactly that he could hardly survive the pain that this farewell brought with it. And how would it be with Yugi? Yami didn't know if Yugi's feelings for him were as strong as his feelings for the little one, but if so, then Yami didn't want to imagine what would happen after he left, as he himself probably couldn't bear the thought would."Aibou", Yami whispered softly and with a shaky voice. Yugi raised his head and looked at him, with his glittering eyes that easily overshadowed the sparkle of every gem, no matter how pure. It seemed as if time had suddenly decided to stand still, or maybe time was running on and the two of them were just frozen into immobile sculptures, trapped in their own hearts. Yami's voice had fallen silent, refused, as so often in similar situations, its service, but words were not necessary to make Yugi understand what he had wanted to say to him. Thousands of words were already floating between them and would never be spoken, for fear they would tear too deep wounds in their flesh that might never heal, but they were there and both Yami and Yugi felt it every second of their lives. She would never confess her love to each other, because the fear that they would never be able to forget each other after their separation was simply too big, especially Yami was afraid that he could destroy Yugi's future life. The bond that existed between them was already too tight, in the worst case too tight to be severed again.
The sky had taken on a delicate pink-orange tone that ran through the purple stripe. If you looked at the clouds, they looked like islands that lay in a large, wide sea on which the sun shone in the sunset. Her last, cold rays brushed Yami's body, causing the cruel feeling of loneliness to flare up in him with new, burning anger. Yami wished he could die on the spot now.
-First Ending -
Suddenly Yugi reached out his hand to the fence and pulled himself up. His movement seemed to be in slow motion, but maybe only because Yami liked it so much. Yugi's slim, pale body rose from the ground in one swift swing until he stood upright and the sun now threw its warmthless rays from top to bottom on the boy's body. Yami admired Yugi's lofty profile. The orange-red facets shimmered on his face like fire that were reflected back from white marble, his beautiful eyes sparkled as if the flames were breaking in them, his head raised, his gaze focused on higher goals that a normal person cannot take was able to. Yugi's body was small, thin and weak, and yet it exuded such enormous power and majesty as Yami had never seen before, not even with Kaiba, as if Yugi was in truth the Egyptian Pharaoh, an embodiment of a god on earth and not Yami. When Yami thought about it like that, Yugi was indeed much more regal than himself, as if fate had made him a god in human form.
Then his Aibou turned his head and looked at him. His gaze shone firmly and determined, with a force that Yami could never muster when he looked at his partner, and without the uncertain flicker that always flashed in his eyes.Determined, Yugi took a few steps towards him before he was right in front of him. "Yami," he whispered. His voice broke the silence like the gentle sound of a divine instrument that was able to give total bliss. "I've had enough ... let's not kid ourselves. Tell me why should you suffer when you're with me, when I know for sure that there will be enough years of suffering ahead of me once you've left?" Undertone in Yugi's beautiful, gentle voice made Yami's heart freeze to ice, the sad looks, from his magically shining eyes, choked his breath. Yugi's whole body seemed to be a single expression of the pain that the little one had to endure and whose release he so longed for. Yami's hand trembled as he slowly raised it to brush Yugi's golden hair from his eyes. His fingertips touched the younger man's skin, which seemed to be covered by a strange and infinitely precious substance and a strange feeling twitched through Yami's body, like thunderous lightning, but at the same time his strength and his self-confidence returned in one fell swoop and he did not hesitate any further touching his aibou, on the contrary, he actually enjoyed the contact. As if by himself, without thinking, Yami put his arm around Yugi's waist and pulled him the rest of the way towards him, intensifying the expectant tingling in the air many times over. The Pharaoh stroked the boy's cheek tenderly and so gently, as if Yugi's skin were made of wafer-thin glass, which threatened to burst with the slightest movement. His eyes seemed to literally suck up the younger one, his gaze slid over Yugi's face over and over again. All of the agonizing worries that Yami had not let rest were suddenly gone, all doubts and unnecessary thoughts were gone. He didn't have to think anymore to know what to do, the words that haunted his head would only have bothered him anyway. Their faces were now so close that Yami Yugis could feel warm breath on his face. His heart, which suddenly seemed to have merged into a whole again, pounded violently against his ribs and it was as if his blood was on fire. His Aibou closed his eyes, breathing heavily and jerkily, his cheeks glowed and Yami knew very well that it was the same for himself. He couldn't hesitate now and so he closed his eyes and kissed Yugi. When he touched Yugi's soft, sweet-tasting lips, a firework of emotions seemed to explode in a head and a pleasant wave spread through his whole body. An eternity passed and yet the moment seemed far too short when their lips parted from each other again. Yami it was almost as if the last rays of the sun had regained a little warmth.
