Fanfic: Cold Sunshine
Chapter: Sakura
[i]Um yes. It took a long, long time, but now I have all the comments that I have been waiting for together and thus I kept my promise and ended "Cold Sunshine" with "Sakura". This chapter is about the possibility of breath not dying in the first place and how it could have ended then. I don't really want to like it, but Goku said it was good, so I'll just upload it now, it's your responsibility. If you don't like it, I'll revise it again. Please take commies (my ego has been a bit cracked lately, so I could really use it!)
The air was pleasantly warm and a gentle breeze caressed the grass and whirled the petals of the cherries, shimmering pale blue in the dark, which covered the path with a delicate carpet. The little brook splashed happily and happily. Little whitecaps formed on the stones, around which, rushing quickly, he writhed and on the steps, which he happily threw himself down. The night birds quietly sang a gentle lullaby for all those who wandered restlessly because sleep refused to visit them. A little mouse crawled out from under a bush and scurried quickly across the meadow, searching endlessly for food.
Yugi looked after her long and thoughtfully. Then he buried his hands deeper in his pockets and kept walking. His feet whipped up the petals while his gaze was fixed in the distance. His heart felt empty. As if there was nothing in it but an infinitely wide, empty space, the center of which no one could reach.
He hated that feeling, and he hated himself for feeling it. He should be happy, but he only felt loneliness and that was unfair. He had his friends, even if they couldn't be with him, and he had him.
He could hear Yami's footsteps behind him, but for some reason they kept their distance. He had asked Yugi to come with him, but for some time he had just followed him.Something was wrong, or rather nothing was right anymore.
Since the day that Yugi's old life had ended forever. A little later Bakura had announced beaming with joy that now that it was all over, he was no longer a threat to his environment and could finally go home to his family.
He had moved away and Yugi hadn't heard from him since then, even though he had promised to get in touch.
A few months later, Tea had received a scholarship to a dance school in New York. It has always been her dream to go to America and dance. Now Yugi wouldn't see her for at least two years.
The bond that had once existed between him and Yami no longer existed in this form since they were now separated from each other. The puzzle, the prison for Yami's soul, was destroyed and he now had his own body and Yugi had lost the ability to sense his thoughts. He himself had withdrawn more and more from his former other self because he had the feeling that he had betrayed not only himself, but also him in particular.Aprupt he stopped, his hands clenched into fists in his pockets, his eyes narrowed, fighting his own feelings.
“Enough!” Yami's voice cracked hard through the wall of thoughts that surrounded him. "I've watched long enough. We need to talk." Yugi glanced back at him over her shoulder. The moonlight made his skin look pale and porcelain-like, but his eyes sparkled, dark, mysterious and determined. He looked beautiful.
He slowly approached and Yugi stopped, waiting politely for him to reach him. "Let's sit down over there," Yugi suggested quietly. He pointed to a bench a little further ahead. Yami nodded and followed him.
Yugi let himself fall and looked at the bigger one expectantly. "What is it, why do you want to talk to me?" He knew exactly, because although he could no longer guess his thoughts, he still knew Yami well.
"You are starting to change Yugi. You are quieter, more thoughtful and more unhappy.I miss your smile and the courage you always gave me. I feel like I'm losing you. "
Inwardly, Yugi had to smile. No matter what he pretended to be, Yami could still see the truth through him. He was already considering lying to him. To say everything was okay and he was just imagining it, but now the time had come. He couldn't lie to him now.
"You are right. It is not easy for me at the moment. Something is coming to an end, or no, it is already over and it is not easy for me to let go. There are mistakes that I regret and words that I want to take back, but it's too late for all of that, but something inside me doesn't want to accept it. "
Yami nodded and Yugi knew that he really understood him.
He had missed it. This closeness to Yami, he had missed. He thought he'd lost it, but Yami was still here.
“Yeah, I see what you mean.” His voice was so calming and gentle. She warmed up Yugi's heart a little and some of the loneliness faded while he could listen to Yami. "I know the feeling, because like for you, this time is over for me and I also have problems finding my way around now. But I know you Yugi and I know how strong you are and I know that you can do anything if you only believe in yourself. "
Yugi couldn't help smiling. He had always said that before. Yugi should believe in himself. "Now is the time for you to decide how your future should run", Yami whispered quietly and deliberately, "you now have to choose a path that you will go."
He felt Yami put his arm around his shoulder. Everything felt so familiar again, everything seemed like it used to be. At least between the two of them.
Yugi put her head on his shoulder and snuggled up against him.
"I don't know which way I'll go yet, but please Yami. Go with me."
