Chapter: 1. The Black Lairs or the drive

1. The Black Lairs or the drive
1. The Black Lairs or the ride
More bored than tired, the 19 year old Lucy Barkinson looked out the window of the ICE that was just leaving Moscow. The compartment was practically empty, only here and there a few elderly people letting the time go by reading the newspaper. Lucy looked out the window at the landscape that was still slowly passing by. Everything was white and the sky seemed gray to her. Good Charlotte's song, "The World is Black," matched her mood. Or also `S. O.S`. Her mood was at its lowest possible point. First Voltaire had called her to Moscow and then he sent her to Japan to spy on the `Blade Breakers`. Her team was just having dinner with Lila. However, this could take a long time. Voltaire had told her that they should go to Japan and then stay on the train and continue with the Blade Breakers to China, to a remote hut. > My God! Couldn't we have gone straight to China?Lucy kept asking herself. She sighed deeply and turned her MP3 player louder to forget about all worries and everything around her. Lost in thought, she stared at the landscape that was now moving faster by. Later, individual houses passed as the train approached Japan. Lucy's friends had also arrived about an hour ago, which didn't bother Lucy very much. Now the compartment was completely empty and outside you could only see water, because they were driving over part of the Pacific. After another hour of driving, the 5 girls arrived in Japan, but they were not allowed to get off. Lucys dialed the callback button on her cell phone and waited until someone finally answered in Voltaire's office.
"Yes?!" an unfriendly voice boomed into the electronic masterpiece.
"Lucy here!" Lucy said rather quietly and without the slightest intimidation.
"Ah Lucy!"
Lucy already knew that Voltaire's mood had improved a bit, but his voice gave Lucy's mood another hard kick.Lucy was silent and waited until Voltaire started, because he loved it when he had the first and last word.
"So?" asked the scratchy voice on the other end.
"We're in Japan now, waiting for the Blade Breakers!" Lucy said calmly.
"Good! Wrap it around your finger as best you can! And let me know if there is anything new!"
Lucy made a face that Voltaire always had to talk about so puffily.
"Okay!" confirmed Lucy.
"Well then!"
The line was dead and Lucy pressed the red receiver and put her cell phone in the black pocket.
Then she pulled a book out of the said pocket with the title: The black side of the perfect world. This was written in red and green letters and there were 2 exclamation marks behind it. Lucy opened it and started at the Featured Chapter: 2 Chapters Slavery. It began with the sentence: Even today ...
Lucy paused. Was that what Boris and Voltaire did to them also slavery?Or torture? Or both?
With that thought, Lucy turned back to her book. But then the compartment almost shook because her `kindergarten` was banging up the stairs. Although Lila, Zoe, Claire and Lee also at Biovolt didn't seem to bother them, especially since they had only been at Voltaire and CO for 1 year. were busy. Lucy looked up from her book and her eyes were directly covered.
"If the person behind me doesn't take his paws from my eyes immediately, he'll get a rub after this trip that has washed himself!" Lucy threatened calmly and immediately the hand moved away from her eyes. Lucy didn't have to look around to see who was joking with her.
"Don't always be so dismissive!" Zoe complained.
"That's the way I am! And if you would like to play kindergarten please! 1 I definitely won't take part and 2 Please do that as far away from me as possible!" said Lucy and read on."Oh come on!" said Lila, who sat down on the square across from Lucy and looked at her expectantly.
"No!" Lucy snapped, glaring dangerously at Lila.
"It's okay! Come on guys, let's go down!" Lila said and disappeared back downstairs with Lee, Zoe and Claire.
Lucy put her book to one side and closed her eyes with ease. > Please God! I know that I was always angry and still am, but give me some rest! Lucy pleaded inwardly and dozed off.
She only slept when she was sure that no one would see her. Only if she couldn’t reveal herself to anyone. Sleep was the only relaxing and at the same time the most vulnerable part of the day. Suddenly it got louder again and Lucy opened her eyes abruptly and listened. It was the Blade Breakers and ... wait a minute, could that be?
Was it tala? And Bryan? And the rest? No, please not the Blitzkrieg Boys.
"I get you!" a blond-haired boy called to his blue-haired friend.
The two raced past the seats.Suddenly Lucy stood in their way. She put her arms on her hips grimly.
"What shoud that?" she asked hotly.
"Nothing! Could we please over?" Tyson asked snootily.
"No!" Lucy replied briefly.
"Why not?" asked Max.
"You still ask? You are making a noise here as if the 4th World War had broken out! And there are people like me who want to enjoy their journey in peace, ok?" replied Lucy.
"But…!"
"No buts! I just shit my team together because they made such a racket and now you come in here and think you could just compress the whole compartment for a moment? Not like that! Quiet or you will be kicked out!" Lucy gifted the two of them and sat down again, crossed her legs and immersed herself again in her book.
Max and Tyson then stood there a bit dazed and decided to go to the others who were downstairs in the canteen. On the way there, Kai and Tala met them."Hey up there, I'd be quiet!" Tyson advised, and strolled on.
Even if Tala and Kai didn't show it, they were a bit puzzled. They gave each other meaningful looks and continued into the compartment. Everything was empty there. A little further back sat a black-haired girl reading her book. Tala went first and sat down next to her.
"Hi!" he said kindly.
"Hey!" Lucy said absently, still keeping her eyes on the book.
"What are you reading?"
Kai had also arrived and sat in front of her. Lucy held up the cover of the book for a moment and then read on.
"And what about ..."
"Wait a minute! I really don't feel like having long-term talks with you, so could we leave that?" Lucy asked rudely.
"Somebody got up on the wrong foot!" Kai said scornfully and crossed his arms over his chest.
"I haven't slept at all today!" Lucy countered and put her book aside."That probably explains your bad mood!" noted Tala.
"If you think so! But I have a question!" said Lucy, "Why do you sit down next to me, after all, the compartment is big enough?"
"Maybe we like it with you!" said Tala and pushed her hair back.
"Are you going to leave that?" Lucy asked indignantly.
"No!!"
"Oh man!" Lucy moaned and looked out the window again, while she pushed her earplugs into her ears (where else? In the mouth?) and turned the music up so loud that she overheard any advances on the part of Tala.
"It's funny, the girl!" said Tala and sat down next to Kai.
"Exactly! Otherwise the girls will melt in your hands!" grinned Kai.
"What can I do for it?"
"Nothing at all!" said Kai ironically.
"My God talking to you doesn't really cheer you up either!" Tala complained.
Kai shrugged his shoulders and looked at Lucy who was still staring stubbornly out the window. > Can't the guy even stop staring at me?Lucy asked herself involuntarily.
They pressed their heads to the ice-cold pane and closed their eyes. She was more than tired, she was exhausted, her strength had to be recharged only then could she compress everyone again.
At some point during the journey, Lucy began to hum and then to sing, very softly:

Turn on channel seven at a quarter to eight
You see the same damn thing
It's just a different day
And no one really knows why this is happening
But it's happening
And everywhere you go it's just a different place
You get the same dark feeling
See the same sad faces
No one really cares that this is happening
We come into this world
And we are all the same
And in that moment there's no one to blame
But the world is black
And hearts are cold
And there's no hope
That's what we're told
And we can't go back
It won't be the same
Forever changed
By the things we've seen (seen)
Living in this place
It's always been this way
There's no one doing nothingSo there's nothing changed
And I can't live when this world
Just keeps dying
It's dying
People always tell me, this is part of the plan
That God's got everybody in his hands
But I can only pray that God is listening
Is he listening?
But living in this world
Growing colder everyday
Nothing can stay perfect
Now I say
But the world is black
And hearts are cold
And there's no hope
That's what we're told
And we can't go back
It won't be the same
Forever changed
By the things we've seen (seen, seen)
We come into this world
And we are all the same
And in that moment there's no one to blame
But we're living in this world
Growing colder everyday
Nothing can stay perfect
Now I say
The world is black
And hearts are cold
And there's no hope
That's what we're told
And we can't go back

Turn on channel seven at a quarter to eight

And no one really knows why this is happeningThe two had listened carefully and understood every word, but they had not been able to translate it. Because the two spoke less English than they thought. Suddenly the others rumbled into the compartment and she abruptly opened her eyes. Kai and Tala were so taken by surprise that they didn't have time to look away.
When Lucy saw her amazed faces, she snapped at her sharply:
"What are you staring at?"
"Well, you seem to like each other!" noted Hilary, who had watched the tithe with the others.
"Yes of course! Don't
