bridge.", Sesshoumaru said without actually answering the question. Kimie looked confused and then stared at the river. The current didn't really look trustworthy either."You're not asking us to swim through there, are you?" She asked incredulously and looked at the youkai as well. But as before, there was no clear answer to this question: "We will rest here for a moment."
"Hey! Can you answer one of my questions clearly for once?", Kimie asked a little upset and immediately she caught one of those ice-cold looks again. "Better be careful, human woman, otherwise you might regret it later."
But Kimie only made a dismissive gesture. "Oh! You know what? Your threats and that poker face are now up to me! You're really annoying! You're worse than a sack of fleas! And besides, my name is Kimie, has that finally arrived? Ki-mi- e! "
There was an abrupt silence, you could have heard a pin drop.
> Has he swallowed his tongue now? Kimie wondered uncertainly as she stood across from Sesshoumaru. He said nothing and it was absolutely unclear what he was thinking. At some point, Kimie apparently got too stupid to continue the pillar of salt competition with the youkai and she turned to leave.
"Kimie-san, where are you going?", Rin called after her uncertainly, whereupon the girl turned around again. “Just take a walk if the great Sesshoumaru-sama doesn't mind!” You could clearly hear the sarcastic undertone, especially when she uttered his name. Jaken wanted to start moaning again immediately, but Kimie had already turned her back on the group. "I take the silence as 'no'. Come on, Inuki!"
The mongrel followed his mistress immediately and the rest of the group stayed behind at the river.
"Why is Kimie-san so angry?", Rin wondered a little confused. She didn't understand why Kimie had suddenly talked to Sesshoumaru like that and then just walked away. The youkai had just watched Kimie and Inuki leave without comment.Still, he seemed to be thinking about it.
"As I said, we rest here for a moment. Wait here.", Sesshoumaru instructed Rin and Jaken and then went in the same direction in which Kimie and Inuki had disappeared.
The two were now a little further away from the others. Kimie finally put her hand on a tree, annoyed. "My goodness! Now I have really big problems. If I go back now, it'll make me cold on the spot without ifs or buts. Me and my big mouth! That was typical again!", She cursed to herself .
Inuki nudged her with the head, whereupon she turned around and looked at him with a slight smile. "Hey, Inuki! What do you mean? Should we just do a fly?"
The mongrel cocked its head a little and Kimie gently stroked it. "It's a shame you can't speak. I'd love to know what you think about all of this."
It didn't take Sesshoumaru long to find them. Now he stood leaning against a tree and, hidden behind the branches of a bush, looked at Kimie and Inuki from a distance.Well, the day was drawing to a close and Inuyasha still hadn't shown up.
Sesshoumaru waited a moment, then moved closer.
Kimie didn't notice it. She was still wondering what best to do.
When Sesshoumaru had come very close, Inuki turned his gaze in his direction. He had heard the youkai, of course, and began to growl softly and warningly. It seemed as if the dog suspected what Sesshoumaru was up to. This stopped briefly. Not out of caution, let alone fear, but he wanted to know what this dog would do now.
"Inuki? What's going on?" Kimie couldn't see the reason for Inuki's behavior. Everything here was so full of bushes and trees that it was difficult to see anything at all. You really couldn't see the forest for the trees any more.
She only noticed what was troubling Inuki when Sesshoumaru finally emerged from behind a tree. Inuki began to growl again, but Sesshoumaru looked unimpressed.Kimie was rather surprised, but also a bit nevous. "You ?! But what ...?"
But she couldn't finish her question. Because suddenly Inuki jumped up to the youkai with a loud bark and gripped his kimono above the left sleeve. Kimie was completely shocked.
Inuki! Leave it! Stop it!"
She managed to grab Inuki, but he still wouldn't let go.
"Inuki! Let go of him!"
Gradually, Kimie began to panic. What if Sesshoumaru got so angry about Inuki that he might kill him? She could well imagine that. And what would stop him from doing that?
Inuki continued to pull on the sleeve of the kimono and only now did Kimie notice what she hadn't noticed about Sesshoumaru the whole time. > His ... his arm ... <
At that moment Inuki tore the sleeve of the kimono.
"Enough!"
Kimie managed to pull Inuki away and held him. The dog glared at Sesshoumaru, still growling. The youkai glanced at his battered kimono before returning to the dog that had dared to attack him. This has meanwhile been calmed down by his mistress. "Quiet, Inuki! Everything is fine." Kimie gently stroked the dog's head.
Sesshoumaru was silent and only gave them both a cool look. Even he hadn't expected this attack.
There was an eerie silence in the air.
When the youkai finally took a step towards the two of them, always gazing at Inuki, and raised his right arm as if to attack, Kimie quickly pushed her dog back so that she was now between him and Sesshoumaru.
"Wait! Please leave Inuki alone! If you absolutely have to vent your anger on someone, do it with me!" Under no circumstances did Kimie want anything to happen to Inuki. Kneeling on the floor and protecting her dog, she looked up at Sesshoumaru. His gaze was indifferent as she slowly got up and waited."Are you serious?" The youkai asked examiningly and looked at Kimie as well. This just nodded silently.
As to what Sesshoumaru would have done now, whether he had really attacked her or not, there was no answer, because a fearful scream cut the silence in the forest.
"That was Rin!", Kimie recognized the voice. Shortly afterwards there was a rustling in the bushes and Jaken emerged. He looked very excited. "Sesshoumaru-sama! Sir! There are robbers!"
Sesshoumaru immediately turned and disappeared into the trees. Kimie only heard the word "robber" and without hesitation ran back to the campsite, closely followed by Inuki. Jaken struggled to follow the three.
