Fanfic: Ein tripp in die Altewelt
at a fast gallop and disappeared behind the bushes and trees of the forest."Idiots," Kimie muttered. She didn't really understand that these guys had only now noticed that Sesshoumaru was a number too big for them. But she didn't think about it any further, because luckily it had turned out well after all. With a sigh, she lowered the hand in which she was holding her sword and let her gaze wander over the battlefield. There were probably 10 to 15 dead men lying on the floor. Some corpses were also partially lying in the river, the water of which turned red from their blood. However, the current quickly washed away the blood.
Somewhat insecure, Kimie turned her gaze to Sesshoumaru. He'd killed these men without blinking an eye, but not immediately at first. She guessed it was Rin. It appeared that Sesshoumaru did not kill people in her presence.
> Look at it! Apparently he's caring after all, in a way, anyway. she thought.
Sesshoumaru showed no emotion as he cast one last scrutinizing look at his victims. His eye-catching soon got stuck on Kimie. This suspected what would come next.
"If I remember correctly, we were disturbed. We weren't finished yet." With these words, Sesshoumaru drew one of his swords. Immediately Inuki's attention was focused on the youkai again.
"Don't, Inuki!", Kimie held back her dog, who looked a little irritated, but obeyed anyway. She herself put her sword back in its sheath. "What is it now?", She asked Sesshoumaru, who was still standing on the same spot, in a strangely indifferent voice. "If you want to kill me, please do that right away. And if not, then just leave it. But I would like to ask you first to spare Inuki. You can do whatever you want with me."
Then Sesshoumaru came up to them, holding the sword in his right hand. He picked it up and placed it directly on Kimie's neck to the right. The cold blade on her skin sent a shiver through her body for a brief moment. She had to admit that she was afraid, even if she didn't show it if possible. But well, if she was going to die now, so be it. Kimie wouldn't try to fight Sesshoumaru, that would have been pointless anyway, and running away wouldn't have helped her either. Kimie wasn't worried about Inuki. He would be fine for sure. Since Kagome and the others were sure to be looking for them, Inuki would definitely be found soon.
Kimie looked briefly into Sesshoumaru's eyes before she closed her own and waited. Meanwhile Inuki paced back and forth nervously. He didn't seem to know what to do at all. He wanted to protect his mistress, of course, but she had expressly ordered him not to do anything.
Kimie opened her eyes again when, completely unexpectedly, she heard a noise that sounded like someone was sheathed a sword. In fact, Sesshoumaru had not used his sword on the girl and had put her back unused."Let's go.", The youkai instructed her in a cool voice, turned his back on her and was already on the way.
> How now? <Kimie was admittedly quite surprised. She had actually been convinced that Sesshoumaru would kill her now. She couldn't explain his behavior at all. Inuki, on the other hand, seemed to have been greatly relieved and happily ran towards his mistress.
> Somebody should understand that. Kimie thought as she watched the youkai go. Finally she followed him at a distance. But while she passed the corpses of the robbers killed by Sesshoumaru, she quickened her pace a little. The way came to an end quickly, because of course the river was still there and a bridge was still missing.
> And now? <, thought Kimie and looked uncertainly at Sesshoumaru, who was standing to her left. She didn't know what was going to come now and how the two and Inuki should get across this river.Suddenly Kimie felt how Sesshoumaru put his arm around her waist without any warning and held her. Then he jumped effortlessly across the river and landed safely on the other side, where he let go of her again. "You wait here," the youkai instructed the girl as he returned to the other side of the river. Apparently he wanted to get Inuki over, but the dog didn't look very enthusiastic when he suspected what Sesshoumaru was up to. Whenever he took a step towards the mongrel, he took two steps back, always giving out a low growl.
Kimie thought for a moment, then she called to her dog: "Inuki! It's good! Be good and do what he wants from you!"
Inuki had listened carefully to the girl. He didn’t seem very enthusiastic, but then allowed Sesshoumaru to carry him across the river as well. The dog was visibly pleased when the youkai let go of him and ran towards his mistress."Good, Inuki.", Kimie praised her dog. Sesshoumaru walked past the two of them and instructed them in his usual tone to follow him. Kimie did the same with mixed feelings, closely followed by Inuki. As she left, however, she looked back at the river once more.
The sun was gradually setting and its rays fell through the canopy of the trees on the battlefield, the traces of which covered the peaceful atmosphere of this forest with a dark shadow.
"They stopped here.", Inuyasha said and looked at the remains of a campfire. Although the ashes and other remains of wood had been removed beforehand, the traces of the campfire were still visible to a trained eye. "I guess they are about a day ahead."
The night had meanwhile arrived and the group would probably not continue on their way until tomorrow. But they had to hurry if they didn't want to hang behind Sesshoumaru forever.
"As soon as the sun comes up, we'll move on."Inuyasha decided and earned an affirmative nod. The Hanyou took a closer look at the area and took in a new smell." There must be a demon here somewhere. ", he said and discovered it quickly. Behind a bush at the edge of the forest a snake demon lay in the grass.
The others followed Inuyasha and also took a look at his discovery.
"He looks pretty dead if you ask me," Shippo said with a scrutinizing look.
"Sesshoumaru's paths are paved with dead creatures," Inuyasha said with an undertone of sarcasm. "We are without a doubt on the right track."
Sango took a closer look at the dead demon. "Looks like a targeted sword blow on the head.", She said and pointed to the head of the snake demon. Inuyasha eyed it one more time. "Strange..."
"What do you find strange, Inuyasha?" Kagome asked curiously. The Hanyou crossed his arms over his chest and answered calmly: "This demon does not smell of Sesshoumaru, which would actually be logical if he had killed him.But he somehow smells like Kimie's sword. "
The others stared at their friend in disbelief, and Kagome in particular looked quite thrown off the rails. "Are you saying that Kimie killed this demon?"
Inuyasha nodded slightly. "At least that's to be assumed, if I look at it like that. Hopefully that doesn't give her the stupid idea that she could do something against Sesshoumaru. She'd better leave him alone."
"Well, hopefully he'll leave Kimie alone.", Kagome said unsettled and with one last look at the dead demon. > Kimie, please don't do anything stupid! the girl pleaded in her mind. > Sesshoumaru is really not to be trifled with. You before! <
If Kagome had known how much fate had already challenged Kimie, she would have been on the spot and suffered a cardiac arrest. But Kimie herself seemed to have noticed by now that she had been incredibly lucky up to now.In the future she therefore wanted to avoid irritating Sesshoumaru in any way. Who knows if next time he wouldn't really be serious and kill her after all.
The night had been very restless for Kimie. Shortly after she, Inuki and Sesshoumaru had reunited with Jaken, Rin and Ah-Un, the group set up camp for the night. Kimie couldn't sleep the whole night and only fell asleep for a brief moment at dawn the next morning, when she was woken up again by Rin.
Now the path of the small group led out of the forest and onto a path that led along the forest and past a village. For the first time since she was in this era, Kimie saw other people who lived in this country. Some farmers worked in the fields and a few children played near the village.
At a distance, at the edge of the forest, the small group rested. Rin wanted to take a quick look around the village, which Sesshoumaru allowed her to do.The little girl hired Kimie and Inuki to come with her, which they did willingly.
The three of them had been gone for half an hour when they returned soon after. The village was very small and there wasn't really much to see, but out of kindness the villagers had given Rin some fruit and Kimie was able to get some meat for Inuki. After all, she couldn't just feed him berries and stuff. But she had got something else too, which she had asked an older woman for.
With a somewhat queasy feeling, Kimie now approached Sesshoumaru, who was sitting by a tree and had leaned his back against the trunk.
"Am I bothering you?" She asked hesitantly, but got no answer. He didn't even look at her. Kimie ran a hand through her hair briefly, then continued: "Should I take care of it?"
In response to this question, Sesshoumaru looked up at her. The girl pointed to the torn left sleeve of his kimono."I mean your kimono," she explained. "Should I take care of it? A woman from the village gave me sewing kits. I asked her to do it."
The youkai's look seemed very indifferent and so was the answer from him: “Do what you want.” And then he looked away again.
Kimie now stepped to Sesshoumaru's side and sat on the floor to his left. Then she took the left sleeve of the kimono and looked at it. Inuki had really done a great job, but she would be fine. After a brief moment, Kimie set the first stitch in the fabric with the needle and quickly worked into it.
Meanwhile, Ah-Un was dozing peacefully on the grass, Jaken was sitting next to him and also allowed himself a short break to sleep. Rin obviously had a lot of fun picking some flowers and Inuki was
