Fanfic: Sleeping hell?
the farthest corner!"
I didn't listen at all, but looked at the room in which we were.
It was a big hall. There were many chairs at a long table and it looked like big decisions were always being made here.
"It doesn't matter now! Why should we come?" Shayne intervened now.
"Where's Gary?" He asked suddenly.
"He was stopped. A family thing, nothing to worry about," Shayne replied.
"Then he'll be there tomorrow at noon," said Jim.
"Maybe in the morning if he gets through well and nothing can stop him.", Shayne objected.
"Good. Then we should get ready to start the journey quickly when he is there."
"Who's Gray?" I asked after listening in silence to the conversation for a while.
"And what kind of trip is that? And why do you need me for it?"It was quiet for a while, but then he started talking.
"Gary is our last man, but you'll get to know him tomorrow so I don't know why I should tell you great things about him."
There was another pause, then he continued.
"We don't know exactly what this trip is all about. We haven't received a lot of information and are actually completely on dry land. We just have to trust the people from above."
Suddenly he broke off and his gaze wandered. It took a while until he had recovered.
"Good. I didn't want more from you. Jim, Shayne! Show Anna the equipment, please. I still have important things to clarify."
"Are those upstairs causing problems again?" Asked Jim.
"Yes ... it seems so!" With that, he turned and walked out of the room.
I looked at the closed door.
"Why didn't he really answer any of my questions?" I thought out loud.
"He's not that straightforward, you know ..." Jim just mumbled."Let's take up arms! Maybe you remember something."
Shayne also went to the door, opened it and waited until we followed him.
Lost in thought, I walked next to Shayne and Jim.
'What should I please remember? 'I thought annoyed.
Nothing here looked familiar.
I felt uncomfortable. All of a sudden I had been taken out of my familiar surroundings and now I should blindly trust people I didn't know and who lived in a world I didn't know.
"There we are…"
We stepped onto a large clay court. The two took me to a chamber at the end of the square.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Exercise!" Replied Shayne.
"And put an end to arguments!" Smirked Jim.
He opened the door to the chamber. A few steps led down to a basement room. It was filled with shelves filled with weapons.
"Then choose a weapon!"
Jim and Shayne stood at the edge and I paced up and down the shelves, undecided.I didn't want to please any of the weapons.
'Actually, it doesn't matter. I won't be able to handle it either way! ', I still thought.
I was about to pull out some weapon blindly when something caught my eye.
I turned around. It was a sword with a red scabbard. I gambled it out and looked at it closely. The handle was decorated with a dragon and the scabbard was made of fine steel. The sword was very light, I could have balanced it on my little finger.
"She found it!" Shayne whispered to Jim. I understood every word but pretended I hadn't heard anything.
"Maybe the parts are not as good as we always thought! You will surely remember!", Jim replied.
I had to grin. This guy seemed like a fanatical optimist.
'Like a little child ...', I was still thinking when I suddenly got a hell of a headache.
Shayne came running to me.
"What's wrong Anna?" He asked worriedly.
"It's okay ..." I replied, but I didn't sound half as sure as I intended.I screwed up my eyes.
Images shot through my head. I couldn't see them all because I only saw them for a split second.
But I recognized some of them. I recognized Jim and Shayne. And I was with them. And he was there too.
And we were all happy and I was laughing all the time.
Then it was all over.
I looked up. Jim had rushed to me and now they both stood next to me and looked at me worriedly.
It was a cruel feeling to be stared at by the two of them.
"Everything is fine!" I said annoyed.
"Well then ..." Jim said slowly.
I glared at Jim and made it clear to him that everything was really all right. At least that's what I wanted them to believe.
I was confused and wanted to think about it longer, but not now. I had to be alone and that would probably take a while, so I pushed the feeling of uncertainty aside for now.
"And what should I do with that part now?"I picked up the sword and looked at the two of them.
Shayne went outside without a word and Jim followed him.
"Thanks for answering my question!" I called afterwards and followed them after a while.
The two were already waiting for me in the square.
Shayne had stood a little to one side and Jim was standing in the middle, two long swords in hand.
He grinned at me.
"Well then, show what you can do!" He called out to me.
I had no idea what he meant.
It wasn't until Shayne called out something to me that I realized what was going on.
"Draw your sword Anna!" He shouted.
I barely had time to pull it out of the sheath when Jim was already charging towards me.
He actually wanted to fight me.
And I should defend myself in the dress!
soo .... that's it for now!
please write to me how you liked it!
