Chapter: The unicorn

She was lonely and abandoned in paradise.
She knew how good it was, but something was missing. Something was always missing, something incredibly important. But she didn't know what.

Her soul was so sad and lonely. And yet so much purer and more innocent than anyone else's.
She just longed for a little warmth.
Where had they all gone?
She couldn't remember a time when it was different. That was her curse.

She only saw the present. Nor had she ever thought about what the past might have been like.
She was always happy, had never wondered where she might have come from.

But now she realized that something was missing.
You could call her stupid, yes, she was naive. Innocent.
But basically none of these human terms were suitable to describe this being.

She was destined to be a being with the most beautiful and purest soul a mortal being could ever have.Apparently the only being able to evade destiny.

She was the first unicorn to try to remember.
The only thing and probably the last ...
Was she really the last?
She hadn't seen one of her kind in ages and she couldn't even remember.

It all suddenly seemed so strange.
Her home, the bright forest in which she had lived since she was born, suddenly lost its beauty. She discovered mistakes. Animals killing other animals, withered leaves falling from trees.
She saw the world die.

She had never noticed any of this before, she always lived in paradise. Why did everything have to change now?

For the first time she could feel sadness, loneliness.
For the first time she felt tears.
She wasn't a unicorn anymore, but what was she then?
A cursed being that can only exist once in the world?
The only and the last. Certainly.

PS: I dug up the song "The last Unicorn" again, I wish I could see the film again.But the song with all the memories was a huge inspiration.
Maybe I shouldn't have made all these paragraphs, I don't know if it's a story or a poem ... but what the heck, I'll just leave it that way ^^
