During the entire march, the human and the elf hadn't spoken a single word. Her silence spoke volumes and although Pay was torn with tension, she remained silent and hurried after Ayan, who was quite a bit ahead of her with his large stride. At the beginning of her journey she had still counted the footprints she had made, but she soon got bored and the number rose so immeasurably that it would have made no sense to continue the whole thing.
