Chapter: Unexpected moments

It's gotten very dark. Me and Inuyasha are still on our way home. I stare at him silently the whole time until he finally asks:
"What are you staring at me?"
I do not answer him. But, I turned my head forward.

Sometimes it is nice when everything is quiet and calm, but this silence now was unbearable for me. I felt all alone even though Inuyasha was walking next to me. This time the silence is broken by my voice.
"Did you like the walk?"
I look at him and wait for his answer.
Until he finally says:
"Um ... actually ... already ..."
I smile at him and say:
"That pleases me!"

We finally got home after a little while. I take the keys to the front door out of my pocket. I put the correct key in the door lock and unlock the door.All light is off. I say quietly to Inuyasha:
"Please don't make any noise ... It seems that you went to sleep ...
I took a look at the clock and said:
"No wonder, it is 11 o'clock at night ..."
I go quietly up the stairs. When I get upstairs, I turn around and see that Inuyasha is still standing downstairs. So I'm giving him a sign that he should come upstairs too. He sees it and says:
"I'm coming on!"
He is climbing the stairs as I go to my room.

// Where should he sleep? // I think.
Inuyasha, who has meanwhile also reached the top, is now in the door of my room.
"Be right back!" I say to him as I leave my room.
I think:
// Maybe in Sota's room? .... No .... There is no space ... //
I'm in the bathroom, putting on my pajamas.

I go back to my room and see that Inuyasha fell asleep in my bed.
// Is he that tired? // I think."Where will I sleep now ...?"

I nudge Inuyasha gently. He reacts and turns around. He did it so suddenly that I was kind of scared.
// I hope I didn't wake him up ... // I stare at him for a little while.
Now I am relieved.
// Phew !!!! He didn't wake up ... // I think. I lie down next to him and I close my eyes. As soon as I closed it, I fell asleep.

After a little while I woke up again. I can feel Inuyasha moving.
// It seems he's been having a restless sleep ... // I think.
I stare and stare at him when suddenly he:
"... Kagome ..." whispers.
// What is he dreaming about ...!? //
Suddenly, unexpectedly, he hugged me. At that moment I blushed brightly. I do not know what to do. I can barely move. Of course, I knew he didn't do it on purpose.

After a while, Inuyasha wakes up too.He sees that he has hugged me and turns red in the face ... so red that you can compare him to a tomato. He lets go of me immediately and gets up, frightened.
// W-what will she think of me now ...? Oh dear, oh dear ...! // he thinks. He looked completely embarrassed. He doesn't even dare to say anything.

He goes to the window and opens it.
"Wh-what are you-doing ...?" I ask him.
"I ... I just want to get some fresh air ..." he says. But I have the feeling that he would go away. I go to him and hug his hand tightly.
"N-no, .... Inuyasha ... please, n-don't go ..." These words flowed out of my mouth without my noticing anything. But he just looks at me confused. After minutes he has:
"Ka-Kagome ....!" whispered. But, he said it so softly that I didn't hear it.

I still hugged his arm tightly.
Inuyasha stops and doesn't move an inch, just like me!
We stand like that for a while until I finally dozed off.I put my head on Inu Yasha's shoulders.

Inu Yasha only noticed this when I almost passed out because after 10 minutes of sleep I begin my absolute deep sleep, in which absolutely no one can wake me up!

Without noticing, he takes me in both arms and puts me in bed.
He sits down on the bed next to me.
He looks at me and thinks about the words that came out of my mouth earlier.

The more he thinks about it, the more dreamy he looks and finally he slowly leans forward to see if I'm sleeping.
He came closer and closer to mine with his face and when we almost touched I turn around so suddenly that I hit Inuyasha's face with one hand.
Suddenly he sits straight as a candle, holds his cheek in pain with one hand and curses me.
His curses are so loud that he actually wakes me up.
I open my eyes, turn around without showing him anything and listen to his curses.After I understand who he was complaining about and he has calmed down a bit, I sit up and put my hands on Inu Yasha's shoulders.
He is startled and turns around.
"You-u are awake ??" he asks.
"Yes, when you curses me, even I wake up!" I answer a little offended and sleepy.
"But tell me why do you curse me?" I ask him, but he only replies:
"Oh forget it !! It doesn't matter !!!" and hopes that the subject will be changed, otherwise it would be too embarrassing for him.
"Pah then just don't!" I say offended and turn around.
"Ka-a-go-mee ???"
But I don't answer anymore because I fell asleep again.

Inuyasha, who is now also tired, lifts the blanket, lies down carefully, lowers the blanket again, puts an arm around me and falls asleep.

The night goes by in a flash and it's already 10 am again.
I wake up and notice that Inuyasha, who still has his arm around me, is still asleep.I look at him as he sleeps.
//Somehow cute!!!!! With those ears and he looks so peaceful !!!

Now Inuyasha has also woken up and looks into my smiling face.
"Kagome what's up? Why are you smiling ??" he asks me.
"Well, why shouldn't I be allowed to smile ??" I ask back.
"I'm not saying it's forbidden, but I want to know why!" he returns.
"Ok, I'll tell you !!!! I think when you sleep you look so cute!" I say with a smile on my face.
"Ah, so I look cute ???"
"Yes!!" I mean in a serious tone, but meant to be funny.
Inuyasha smiles too.

Here in the modern era he is smiling all the time !!!!
This is the second time!
Not that this would bother me, only I am not familiar with it!
His smile is not scary like it was in some of his fights, but rather nice and friendly !!!Now he tore me from my thoughts again by asking:
"Are you angry with me about yesterday?"
"No !!! I even forgot it again !!!" I answer.
"To forget??"
"Yes! That's just not that important to me !!!!!"
"Why is that not important to you?" he continues to ask.
"Well, because there are more important things in life that you should worry about!"

Even though I thought he was joking ... He meant it! He stares at me stupidly like I'm a Martian and says:
"I'm serious!"

I get up from bed immediately and go to the bathroom to freshen up. When I finish and go back to my room, Inuyasha has disappeared.
"Hey? Where did he go?"
I run down the stairs and quickly go to the kitchen. But he is not here either!
// As if he disappeared from the earth !!! //
And then, suddenly ... the thought occurs to me:// Why did he disappear so suddenly? He's not mad at me ... is he? //
I forgot to look in the living room so I'm on my way there. Once there, I find it unexpected. I feel very relieved! He is sitting on a pillow and looking out the window. Suddenly he turns around and says:
"What is it? You look completely upset !!!"
"Ah ... yes ?! Take a look at yourself!"
At the same time I take a pillow and sit next to him.
"Pah!"

I look at him and he looks away.
"What are you thinking, Inuyasha?"
"Nothing!"
His voice is no longer warm. On the contrary, it sounded very cold.
"Have I done something to you?"
"No!"
It looked like he doesn't want to turn to my side!
"Then why are you acting so strangely, Inuyasha?"
I don't get an answer either. So I reacted offended.
"So that's it! You're mad at me!"
As I say this, I get up. He suddenly turns to me.And says:
"Ah Menno !!!!! Kagome, you always take everything so wrong !!!! Don't talk stupid things and sit down again. Yes?"
This time he sounds a little disturbed. He looks me in the eye with a ... indescribably sweet look, I can't resist and sit down again.

"Can I ask you something, Inuyasha?"
"Ask! ... I hear!"

Everything becomes very still. No sound can be heard. I stare at the ground all the time.
And then, suddenly and unexpectedly, Inuyasha takes me in his arms and lays his head on my shoulder.It's like a dream to me I can't even believe it. And that, this time on purpose! I slowly turn to his side. Now I can look him in the eye!

His look .... I try to think of words that could best describe this look, but I can't find any.
They're not cold or icy like his fights ... but words like nice or friendly don't describe the look either.
It's an indescribable look.
