Chapter: prolog

~ Prologue ~

"Grandma? Will you tell me a story?" Asked a little girl. She was sitting on the floor and in front of her, in an old rocking chair that creaked at every slight movement, was an old woman.

"Of course. Which one would you like to hear? Again the one with the princess and her prince?" The girl considered. "I don't really know ... I already know them by heart ... Tell me a new one, grandmother!"

The old woman looked at her in amazement. "A new one? Well, let me think about it." The woman thought about it. In the meantime the little girl got a blanket, the floor was getting too cold for her.

"I have one. Would you like to hear it?"

"What is it about?" Asked the little one to be on the safe side.

A smile spread over the old woman's wrinkled face. "About love. And about hate, my child."

"Then I want to hear you!" The girl called and laughed happily.

"Well then ... Once upon a time ..."

Once upon a time there was a country where two peoples lived.Enemies for millennia, they avoided each other and even hated each other. Now one wonders why this was so. Well, there was a very simple reason: one of the two races were humans, the other being of the night: vampires. Different as these two races were, it was impossible anyway for friendly connections to develop unless love was formed between them. For a long time wars were waged against one another; Vampires fell on people under cover of night, while people took advantage of their weakness of light and attacked them during the day when they were sound asleep. After nearly half a century of war, they overcame and signed an armistice. Both peoples lived in a certain peace, humans as well as vampires. But the hatred and fear remained. The old passed this on to the younger and so there were still people who killed vampires and vampires who attacked people, which only strengthened both sides in their beliefs.It seemed as if both peoples would stay in this state forever and one would never overcome one another and find each other. So it seemed, until two, a human and a vampire, met and realized in an incredible way that they were not as different as they thought they were .....
