Fanfic: Orion

Translation

recognizable as a narrow crescent, half hidden behind veil-like clouds, which have more of a nebula than a real cloud character, and the stars seem to blink at me as if they want to tell me secrets or tell me about my uncertain future, but they certainly know it .
The trees rustle gently and I close my eyes, enjoying the silence and the deceptive peace of the moment, when a cheeky laugh sounds over me.
I drive around and out of old habit my hands immediately slide onto my belt, detaching one of the knives from it. Another mocking laugh is the answer to my efforts, and I finally realize the source of that laugh.
It is a woman - or rather a young girl - who is sitting cross-legged on the iron gate. I have no idea how it came up there so noiselessly that I didn't notice it - maybe I was just so absorbed in my contemplation of the sky that I simply overheard the climbing noises. No compliment for my abilities, but I still like this better than the possibility that she actually got up there silently.
"If that's not the son of the sun," she mocks, her hair gently blowing around her face, "the great Orion, if I'm not mistaken?"
I slowly lower the knife, but keep it in my hand - you never know. As safe as this girl looks, in my current condition even a dachshund could probably bite me to death.
"Orion is enough," I reply, trying in vain to see details of her face, which is obscured by her hair and the darkness of the night, "and you are?"
"I'm Louise," she replies, jumping to her feet in one nimble movement, elegantly balancing on the thin metal, "a Lahrdi."
"Lahrdi", I echo doubtfully and try to classify the term somewhere, but I don't succeed.
"Yes," she replies, jumping from the gate so that we are separated by the wands, "one of the fallen angels."I look at her in disbelief and she laughs - once again, apparently I'm a laughing stock for her - as bright as a bell and disappears into the night with a few long sentences. I look after her thoughtfully and wonder for a moment whether I just imagined the encounter in my already battered mind or whether it really happened.
With a low sigh, I turn around and go back into the house, straight to the library. Having escaped the moonlight, I become a messenger again and my eyes cast a faint light on the spines of books that are presented to me. I am sure there must be some kind of encyclopedia here somewhere - and indeed, after a few minutes I will find it. I lift the part of K - L off the shelf and drag it to a small table.
The pages are worn and stained, apparently this is not the very latest edition of the work, and yet there is a small section on the "Lahrdi" that I immediately immerse myself in.Lahrdi is a specific species of female legendary figures with supernatural abilities. Their existence could never be proven.

That and nothing more. As if these two sentences could help somehow. Frustrated, I want to close the book again when I notice a small note on the book page:Ghosts.
Ghosts ?!
My confusion is complete and I am too exhausted to think about this unspeakable topic - let alone any other - for a second longer, put my legs up and close my eyes. Come what may, now I have to sleep first.
