Itachi bit his lip hard and tried to suppress this terrible feeling of emptiness and despair, but he couldn't. How could it get so far? Wasn't a happy ending destined for them after such a long time?
You could also see the shock of Sasuke and Sakura silently rolled tears down her cheeks.
A sudden flame startled the three from their thoughts and they looked down at Kari in amazement. Where her heart actually was, a flame burned that spread rapidly over her entire body. The three of them quickly jumped to the side and had to watch helplessly as Kari's body gradually burned and turned into a lot of ashes.

I stood in complete darkness and looked around when it suddenly got very light and a red-haired girl was standing in front of me."Shujaku?" I asked and the girl nodded. "Kari listen to me! You can return to life and to Itachi, but only on one condition!" said the girl. "Which one? I do everything!" I answered and looked at Shujaku questioningly. "Your child died during our change, you should know that!" Shujaku answered quietly and looked to the side, embarrassed. I was shocked and tears made their first way. I slumped on the floor. Shujaku stepped up to me, grabbed my hands, and looked at me. "But you will return to life because I will go to the afterlife for you!" she said and smiled. "Your 'Kekkei Genkai' will cease to exist, you should know that too." She said and disappeared. "Thanks!" I screamed with difficulty, even though I wanted to stop her, but at the same time I got a strange feeling.

Only a few flames were still burning and the three of them thought it was finally over, but suddenly there was a huge flame, the ashes disappeared and Kari stood in front of them.There was no scratch on their skin or clothes.

~~~~~~~~~~~ a little later in Konoha ~~~~~~~~~~

Kari had told her friends everything she knew and had returned to Konoha with the others and had to listen to an eternally long moral sermon from Tsunade.

Itachi was struck off the renegade list and given a brand new Konoha headband.

Kari and Sakura had meanwhile moved to the Uchiha estate with the boys. Kari had grabbed her family's chronicle book and wrote all of her experiences in it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Three years later ~~~~~~~~~~~

Sasuke and Sakura had married in the meantime, while Itachi and Kari were already married. Kari had got over the death of her unborn child and the disappearance of Shujaku and was now happily living with Itachi.

Kari and Itachi sat outside on the terrace of the property and simply remained silent until Itachi spoke up. “Kari?” “Mmh?” “I want to ask you a question."Said Itachi and Kari didn't miss the hesitant undertone in his voice." What? "She asked curiously and looked at him.
Itachi rummaged in his pocket and suddenly held a ring in front of Kari. “Do you want to marry me?” Perplexed, she stared from the ring to Itachi and back again. "You already know that we are already married?" she asked cautiously. "Yes, but that was actually involuntary and now I'm asking you!" replied Itachi and grinned. She blinked a few times before finally answering. "Baka! Of course I do!" Kari replied and Itachi put the ring on her finger before she just kissed him. Itachi had noticed her crooked grin. "What is it?" asked he. "I have a present for you too!" answered Kari and grinned even wider. "And do I find out what?" Itachi asked, played annoyed. Kari just took his hand and placed it on her stomach. "You just have to wait a little longer!" she said softly and looked into Itachi's eyes."Does that mean you are-?" but he didn't need to finish the sentence because Kari was already nodding and Itachi fell around her neck.

Itachi and Kari stood by a small cot and looked at the sleeping girl.
Haruka Uchiha.
Her older cousin lay in the bed next to it.
Shuya Uchiha.

Yes, that was the beginning of a really good ending. Now everything was finally like it couldn't be better and nobody, neither Itachi and Kari, nor Sasuke and Sakura could have wished for a better ending ...
