The request for forgiveness
The request for forgiveness
It has been 4 days since the With Midoriko event and Kagome has recovered well during this time. Inuyasha, with Kagome's permission, told the others about Kagome's visions. Despite the fact that these are very strange, they believe them and hold on to their friend. Kagome is very grateful for this support and has a growing conscience that she has not told you everything. At night Inuyasha is often with her and stays awake to watch over her, because the fear that she will disappear again that easily is very great to his amazement. After the third day, Kagome was allowed to get up again and walk around, but Kaede kept telling her not to overdo herself. Since the night Inuyasha was with her, she hadn't had any visions or any other signs of Midoriko's presence.

Kagome walks with Kiara and Shippo on one of the many paths around the village. She really needed a bit of space and decided to take a little walk around the village. At first Inuyasha didn't want to let her go and kept grumbling and complaining. Until Sango and Miroku interfered. The two made the suggestion that Kagome take at least Shippo and Kiara with him to protect them if necessary.
Inuyasha turned around with a growl and finally retired to a tree. That could be understood by the fact that he probably agreed.
Kagome sighs. If this continues, then she will be under supervision for the rest of her life. That would be terrible. For a brief moment she sees herself committing suicide. But she quickly rejects that. She looks forward to Shippo and Kiara who are playing wildly in a sea of flowers and are beaming with joy. She smiles brightly at the sight and thinks about how beautiful it is in the Middle Ages. But after just a few seconds, completely different thoughts are buzzing around in her head.Thoughts that have preoccupied her for days: Midoriko, Inu Yasha, your friends, Naraku and about her. What is the great warrior and creator of the jewel of the four souls up to with her? What did she mean when she said: "You have to follow the feeling when the time comes!"? And when will she see Midoriko again? In Kagome it tingles at the thought of meeting her. That's how excited she is.
But ... then what should she say to Inuyasha and her friends?
You will not move from her side, and then how should she see the warrior? You will surely notice when she disappears again and then she has to say something about it! Kagome searches in vain for a solution. She just decides to let it come to her. Then she can think about it. Her steps would have been slower on her trains of thought and her gaze drifted to the floor, but now that she notices this, she is back to an appropriate head posture and normal speed again. She looks around.Shippo and Kiara are far ahead and have just played, but then they remembered their companion and are now looking around for her, when Shippo discovers her he screams for Kagome and she takes her legs in her hand and runs to laughing her little companion. Together they throw themselves into the flowerbed and Kagome can let go of her worries for this moment.

From dense branches and green leaves, golden eyes watch the three happy creatures. He is hidden high in a tree and observes the situation critically. His eyes narrowed as he saw Kagome's steps slow. A growl escapes his throat. Shippo doesn't seem to notice this at all! That makes him mad! He should watch out for Kagome! He looks over at Kagome and notices that she is completely lost in thought. He cannot see her eyes from this distance and even if he had been standing directly in front of her, he could not look into her face because her bangs cover it up.From one moment to the next, however, she takes position again and runs towards the two who have already been looking for her. "Lucky, Shippo!", It goes through his mind when the half demon sees that Shippo Kagome has not forgotten. When he sees the three playing and romping around in the flower landscape, the corners of his mouth twitch briefly into a smile. Kagome hasn't been so full of energy and joie de vivre for a long time! Since she told him about the vision, she had become a little quieter. Inu Yasha, now a bit satisfied, makes his way back to the others to wait for Kagome, Shippo and Kiara.

"I think I'm fine again so far that we can leave tomorrow and continue looking for Naraku!" Says the fifteen year old girl full of vigor. Her friends look at her rather skeptically. "Are you sure, Kagome?" Sango asks worriedly. Her answer to that is a violent head up and down. "Well, I don't think we can change Kagome's mind anyway! So in which direction should we leave tomorrow?" Asks Miroku, while he lets out a deep sigh at the first sentence. “Make up your mind, I have to go back to my time for a moment!” Kagome stands up, grabs her big yellow backpack and throws it over her shoulder. “I just have to go get bandages for a moment. I'll be right back!” She turns around without waiting for an answer and goes to the exit. But Inuyasha faces them. He has straightened up to his full height and looks at her seriously. "Hurry up! It will be dark soon!" Kagome nods and sprints past him out of the hut. Inuyasha looks after her. He doesn't feel good about letting her go alone now. But he trusts her! She will not run away again and will not inflict such injuries on herself again, however they happened! He just knows that! His gaze changes to desperate. At least that's what he hopes.

Kagome runs through the forest on the way to the well. It is not difficult for her to maintain this pace, because the sack on her back is lighter than when it comes fresh from her time in the Middle Ages. Even so, Kagome cannot avoid making her breath heavier. She has to hurry. The sun can no longer be seen.
Finally she arrives at the large clearing where the fountain is. She lets out a small cry of joy with happiness to be there. Her steps become slower the closer she gets to the fountain and finally stops in front of it.
"First ... take a breather!" She says with a gasp. She throws the backpack next to the wooden planks of the fountain and supports herself on her knees. She breathes in and out forcefully, her chest rising and falling. Suddenly she holds her breath and opens her eyes wide in shock.A heavy shiver spreads through her and makes her body tremble briefly.
"Can ... that be? This feeling ..." she whispers to herself. She straightens up and if she were, the splinter of the jewel in her blouse lights up. Her hand digs into her top and finally grabs the glass with the jewel splinter. Her hand opens and the light shines towards her. Kagome is spellbound. The light is just as pleasant and beguiling as the glow of the water from the Midorikos pond. Like him a shiver goes through her body and she realizes that this tremor comes from the splinter. What does he want to tell her? Suddenly she gets that feeling of having to walk again and then she understands. But can she really go now? Inuyasha trusts her and he let her go to the well on her own, if she ran away now without saying a word, that trust in them would be broken! What is she supposed to do? She's been waiting for Midoriko to give her a sign.Is this the sign? But how should she know? "Yes, you've come to her this way!
You have been guided by your feelings ... ", she breaks off immediately in her train of thoughts.
Naturally! Why didn't she think of it right away? Your feelings!!! She remembers the warrior's sentence:
"You have to follow the feeling when the time comes!"
That feeling of running, not stopping and not thinking about anything else. That comes from the splinter that is with her and this is connected to Midoriko, of that she is very sure! Suddenly another shiver, followed by a tremor in her body. She tries to defend herself against these desires in her, which prompts her to leave.
She can't just ignore Inu Yasha's feelings! She loves him too much for that! As if someone controls her, one of her legs trembles in front of her, wants to carry her away, to lead her to the place of the greatest warrior in the world. But her heart is resisting it. It wants to keep the trust of the one it loves.
Kagome's tears well up. She doesn't want to, she mustn't! She cannot betray him and break her promise. She has to hurry but has to be back before sunset. She has to go back to him!
But nothing helps. Her legs move away from the well towards the gorge. They are carrying them away from their homeland faster and faster. And Kagome knows that all is lost now. The trust of your friends. His confidence. He will hate her! Everyone will hate her! Because she ignored her request. But she can't help it! She has to go and talk to Midoriko! Maybe she has information on Naraku. But even this realization does not make them happier. She made her ignore the worry of her friends, let her stand. A grudge against the Slayer simmers in Kagome. How could she do this to her? Couldn't she have done it differently, at some point brought it about differently? But that doesn't matter now! She is already running inexorably to the old ruin. Tears of anger and despair find their way, in rivers, a way over her delicate face. With her eyes fixed on what lies in front of her, she runs sobbing through nature, past bushes and flowers on the way to the gorge. For many hours, it seems to Kagome, they carry their legs away until they stop on stone ground. She is there. Before her lies the view that anyone else would have described as beautiful, but Kagome is afraid of it. She knows that the splinters will drag her back down, whether she wants to or not. Her eyes are full of fear and shine with despair. How is she supposed to get down there safely? Isn't there another way down? Her feet started moving and Kagome let out a short, frightened scream. Does this woman want her to fall to her death? But even the
