Chapter: Another Day On Destiny Islands
It's been a year now ... Sora and Riku are finally back from their long journey. Since then everything has been back to normal on Destiny Islands. Well, as normal as it can be with two chaos like Sora and Riku! I grinned slightly. Without them it could get really boring. A year has now passed since her return, but this one year is vegging in a flash!
It was early in the morning, but I was already awake. The sun was just showing its first rays. I don't know why, but it was just a habit to get up at this hour. Even though the vacation had just started! In contrast to me, Sora was a late riser. I grinned again. The idea of what Sora looks like when he sleeps .... Definitely peaceful and totally cute .....
I caught myself at the thought and blushed slightly. What was I thinking of? To distract myself, I got up and went to the bathroom. Then washed my face with ice cold water. Immediately better! I dried my face again.A little more awake than before, I padded back into my room and looked out the window. I was really looking forward to it! Sora, Riku and I wanted to go out to the island today and spend the day there. We also had planned to camp. It had taken all my persuasion skills to get my mother to let me stay the night. She seriously believes that Sora and Riku would do something to me! After all, Sora and I were already 16 and Riku was even 17. My mother still felt uncomfortable at the thought of me going camping with two boys, but what should happen? Everyone has their own tent and we've known each other for ages, they wouldn't ... And what if they did?
I shook my head to get rid of my confused thoughts. I will trust my best friends! I looked at the clock. Not until 8. We had agreed to meet at 12 at the pier. Sighing, I sat down on the bed. Half an eternity until then! The sun was now high in the sky and I was on my way.
"Hey Kairi!" I heard Selphie's voice from behind. She ran to me and we walked side by side.
"What to do with all that stuff?" She asked me, pointing to the tent and my backpack.
"Hi Selphie! I'm going out to the island with Sora and Riku," I explained.
"With all your luggage in tow?"
"We camp there."
"How unfair! I want to come with you!", She said with a sigh, "It will definitely be completely romantic, with two boys around the campfire under the stars ..."
I had to laugh. But somewhere the romantic version of our plan was quite appealing. "Sora and Riku are friends, that's all!" I looked at her.
"Friendship can quickly become more!"
When I didn't say anything, Selphie continued with a grin: "But I wouldn't take Riku, you would make thousands of girls your enemies!"
"I don't want anything from Riku, I want from ...", I interrupted myself. Yes, from whom?"But from ...?", Selphie stared at me expectantly, but still seemed to know who I mean. I didn't know the answer myself.
“Doesn't matter!” I looked at Selphie that she was not satisfied with this statement and then looked forward again. My salvation was there! The jetty was in sight and Riku was already waiting. "So Selphie, I have to go. See you then!" I said goodbye and ran the last bit.
What was wrong with me today?
"Hi Riku!" I greeted him when I reached the jetty.
"Hey Kairi!"
"Sora isn't there yet?"
"Is that what it looks like?"
"No," I admitted with a sigh, "but it can't be that long before he comes."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that", Riku answered with a grin, which made me laugh. Then I looked in the direction Sora was likely to come from.
"Here he is finally coming! His turn is later than usual!" I said after a while, while waving to Sora.He waved back and I smiled.
"Morning Riku, hi Kairi!" He called when we were within earshot.
"Tomorrow? It's already lunchtime!", Riku answered and I had to laugh again.
"Is that how you greet your friend?", Sora looked at Riku with mock indignation and I smiled at that. Somehow cute.
"Are we going to go then?" I asked a little impatiently and looked at both of them. Both agreed. So we got on the boat, but it was a little tight. Usually we fit in very well, but our overnight stuff also took up space. That's why he was a little cuddly this time. Every time we went to the island, Riku rowed the most. Sora also helped, but I still believe that Riku's commitment helped us more than Sora's. Since we only had two paddles, they always did it. They said girls couldn't do this properly. All just prejudices! But in this case I didn't mind. What surprised me that day was that Sora was probably quite over-motivated and paddled harder than Riku."Sora! Stop it! If you keep going like this, the boat will tip over!", Riku said, slightly annoyed.
"Yeah, okay!", Sora muttered. Was I wrong, or was there a little red sheen on his face? The sun probably just blinded me, otherwise he was almost never embarrassed. Before the two of them had the idea to start an argument, I shouted: "We'll be there soon!"
I was happy more and more.
But...
If I had known beforehand what kind of chaos the whole thing was going to end in, then there would probably not have been much of my anticipation.
