The birthday

I had to think for a long time how to do the next chapter. Then I remembered a good story, here it is.

The next morning, Aiko and Itachi were still cuddled together in their bed. Itch was awakened by busy talking from outside. Still drowsy, he looked at Aiko. She was still sleeping blissfully. He carefully got out of bed without waking her. When he lifted the last foot to climb over her, she stirred slightly but did not wake up. Then he put on his coat. With one last look at her, he left the room. Suddenly Inuyasha and Kagome shouted "Congratulations" but when they saw that it wasn't Aiko who was standing there at the door, they fell silent.
"So what's going on?" asked he. "It's Aiko's birthday today. She will be 17." Inuyasha explained in a whisper. They hoped that Aiko hadn't woken up from their loud congratulations. Scratching his head, Itachi said that Aiko had mentioned her birthday soon, but not when."Can I help you prepare?" Itachi asked, stifling a hearty yawn. They nodded and went back to work. They hadn't finished yet. When everything was in place, they snuck into their room. Aiko was still sleeping. They began to quietly sing a birthday song. Aiko slowly opened her eyes and looked at all three one after the other. Confused and drowsy, she sat up. When they finished they said happy birthday to her. Then they went to breakfast. It was a boisterous mood.

When the door opened and Sakura, Sasuke, Miroku and Sango came in, Aiko got up and got even more congratulations. She almost had tears in her eyes. The 17th birthday wasn't that special. Still, she was happy. After breakfast the four young people went for a walk. Shippo also joined them. Aiko and Itachi walked hand in hand behind them. They wanted to go swimming.Everyone jumped into the cool wet, it was a hot day too. "It's great when your birthday is in the summer." Sasuke said to Aiko as they let the sun dry them off. He wasn't lucky. He was born in the dead of winter. "But having it in winter isn't bad either. You just have to know what you can do." replied Aiko with a smile. Then she looked at Shippo. There was something strange about him today. Again and again he looked at Sakura. When she looked at him he blushed and looked away again. She also noticed that he had been very nice to her lately.
When it was evening they made a campfire. Aiko had leaned against Itachi, who was now playing with her hair and ears. Again and again when he stroked her ears they twitched slightly. He liked that. Then they made something to eat. Sakura had taken care of everything. This birthday was far better than all of Aiko's other birthdays together.

On the night everyone was sleeping around the campfire, Shippo snuck away from them.Aiko noticed how a shadow fell over her face and then disappeared again. then she opened her eyes and saw Shippo move away from the sleeping group. She broke away from Itachi's embrace and followed him. She found him alone on a cliff. “Shippo?” He spun around and saw Aiko standing two meters behind him. “Is everything okay?” “Yes, everything is great.” He turned around again.
"But that doesn't look like it to me. Come on, you can tell me." "No, everything is fine." Slowly it became too colorful for Aiko. "Oh come on, how you've been acting lately. The way you look at Sakura. Something can't be right." Shippo turned back to her, sighed heavily and came up to her. "I love her. How she moves, her hair moves in the wind. How she speaks and-" "Yes, I get it. You describe her like a goddess. Why don't you tell her?" Shippo shook him Head. He said if he told her she would laugh at him or run away."It makes no sense." he concluded sadly. Aiko thought for a long time. In the meantime they had sat down on the floor. When Shippo put his head in his lap and began to sob, Aiko suddenly jumped up.
"I have an idea!" she exclaimed. Shippo, who hadn't expected it, jumped back almost a meter in shock. "Wh- what do you have?" "An idea, silly. An idea how you could conquer Sakura's heart. But for that I need the help of Itachi. I don't want to wake him now. Wait until tomorrow then I'll explain everything to him. If we have come up with a strategy, we will discuss it with you.
Shippo beamed happily at her. "I Agree."
