Fanfic: Song For You

Translation

glanced at the clock radio, and stood up. Still quite sleepy, Sakura shuffled into the bathroom, which was right next to her room.

“Morning, Sakura-chan!” Ino, with a bagel and a cup of hot cocoa in hand, beamed at her friend. "Slept well?"
"Well, it works like that," Sakura answered weakly and sat down across from Ino."Dreamed badly?"
Almost, but "bad" was probably not the appropriate word.
Sakura just shrugged. “Well, I have no idea.” She took a croissant from the bread basket and took a bite.
"The audition is in three hours. And are you nervous?" Ino asked, put half the bagel on the plate and took a sip of the cocoa.
"A little, but I think I can do just fine."
Ino smiled. "Nice to hear! Let's have a little more breakfast and let's go!"

As the radio presenter had already predicted on his morning show, it was indeed a very beautiful and very mild autumn day. Here and there people crossed the streets, some in a hurry, others relatively carefree. Sakura and Ino were more of the first group; after the bus was ten minutes late, the two girls marched through the city with long strides.

"I think we'll be there in a moment; over the intersection and then to the left.""If it hadn't taken you that long, we would have been there sooner!", Sakura pecked at the blonde, who promptly turned her head back and gave Haruno an insulted look. "Yeah, well," she mumbled to herself and ran a gear faster. “Hey!” Sakura had to hurry; Ino had taken off the pink-haired woman on purpose and was now running across the intersection; then she turned left. There it was.

A tall building, mostly with lots of glass windows, was a bit away from the apartment blocks and shops. The glass shivered in the sunshine; the green of the cut bushes, and the red carpet in front of the entrance, which had the gold-embroidered inscription "Moon Star", made the whole picture look even more impressive than it already was. "Moon Star Entertainment" was the name of the black stone sign that was placed next to the entrance.

It looked even more splendid inside. The floor of the building was made of beige marble, and at the very top you could see the blue sky through the glass windows.A fountain adorned the center of the great hall, behind it was a red-carpeted staircase that led upstairs. Sakura saw some people walking in and out of busily as they passed the railing on the upper floors.

A young man seemed to be the only one who noticed the two girls in the hall; Sakura saw how he adjusted his glasses and hurried down the stairs. He had black hair, was wearing a suit, and a folder was tucked under his arm. He looked quite young, maybe he was only a year or two older than Sakura.

"Hello! Can I help you?" He asked politely. On his right chest was a small sign on which the Haruno could read the name "Shouta Yakashima - Secretary of the President".
"Yes, good afternoon! My name is Sakura Haruno." The pink-haired woman handed the man the letter and the forms, and then pointed to her friend. "And this is Ino Yamanaka. We come to audition at your invitation."The man's face brightened, as if he was only now recognizing the two girls. "Yeah, right! Welcome to Moon Star Entertainment! Nice to meet you! Follow me."

Surprised by this sudden reaction, the two girls followed the young man. As they left the marble stairs, they headed straight for the elevator at the end of the hall. The elevator door opened and they got on. The young man pressed the number 10 head and the elevator started moving.

"Oh, how rude of me. My name is Shouta Yakashima, secretary," the man introduced himself with a soft and apologetic smile. Ino nudged Sakura inconspicuously with her elbows. The pink-haired woman gave her friend a questioning look. What did she have now?
Not until they got out on the tenth floor and the young man named Shouta
went ahead, Ino whispered softly in Haruno's ear: "Somehow I don't think the guy is that bad at all."She winked at Sakura.
She wasn't surprised at all, it was even typical of the Yamanaka that she liked a guy.
"How old do you think he is?" Ino whispered and chuckled.
They crossed a long corridor, to the left and right were pictures, as well as gold and silver plates that were framed.
"Ino!", The Haruno hissed back indignantly and gave her a stub. "Ask him yourself if you are so interested!"
"Hmm." Ino put a hand on her chin. "Why not."
Sakura gave her a sideways glance and raised an eyebrow.

They stopped in front of a large wooden door that said "President's Office" on the sign. Shouta knocked.
"Come in.", Came a - clearly male - voice from the room.

They entered a large room with a burgundy floor, and on the opposite side of the door, elongated windows lined up together formed a wall. You had such a clear view of the city; the sun shone straight into the room. The President, whose only blond hair was visible, sat at his desk with his back to the door so that only the back of the chair could be seen. All sorts of paperwork, files and folders lay on the table. But the most striking thing was probably the gold nameplate in the middle.
"Yondaime - President"

“Oh, what a wonderful day!” The black armchair turned around. Sakura gasped and Ino looked pretty shocked too. The president had tousled blond hair, bright blue eyes, and looked relatively young. Now Sakura knew immediately who the man was reminding her of.
"Naruto ..." Sakura managed. Why hadn't she thought of it earlier? The resemblance between the two was just too startling. Naruto had the same blue eyes as Yondaime, who was now sitting in front of them.

"Oh, you ..." But before Shouta could say anything, Ino got ahead of him: "Are you maybe Naruto Uzumaki's brother?" Now it was the blonde who caught a perplexed look from Sakura. The Yondaime looked at the Yamanaka in amazement, then began to laugh. Ino no longer understood the world.
"Yeah, you could see it that way," he said with an amused smile. "Are you Naruto's friends?"
"Um, yes we are.", Sakura confirmed and nodded slightly.
"Has he never told you anything about me?"
Sakura thought about it. Had Naruto ever mentioned any brother of his own?
"No he did `nt."
“Well, what a shame.” Yondaime grinned. As he did so, he noticed how he received a slightly reproachful look from his secretary.
"Well then, what two adorable girls am I up against?"
"Sakura Haruno and her companion Ino Yamanaka. They are coming for the audition at 12.30 pm." Shouta handed the forms to the President. The Yondaime read the papers briefly and then turned to his secretary. "What time is it?"
Shouta checked his watch. "It is now 12:33 p.m."
"Hmm." The President propped his elbows on the desk and clasped his hands. He looked thoughtful.

"What are we waiting for?", Ino Sakura asked quietly, so that the other two couldn't understand her. Sakura shrugged helplessly.

At the same moment there was a knock on the door. Sakura and Ino whirled around. Without waiting for an answer, the person stepped into the room. Sakura's eyes widened. She felt her heart begin to pound, which inevitably made her remember the dream and she felt quite uncomfortable. She stared spellbound at the boy who closed the wooden door behind her. He seemed to have noticed Haruno's look, because now he turned to her and looked her straight in the eye. A slightly amused smile played on his lips.

"Long time no see."

"Sakura."
