Vampir-Story
The clan
The clan
When I woke up it was already deep night. At first I didn't know where I was until I remembered the events of the previous night. "Nice that you are finally awake too." Edward said with a grin and started digging me up again. “What's going on? You don't look particularly happy.” I got up and patted the dirt off my clothes. I was happy to finally get out of this hole.
"Nothing." I evaded. I didn't mean to tell him how thirsty I was.
"You need to have a drink," he said. I actually wanted to avoid that. I still hadn't made friends with the idea of having to drink blood, even though I had already done it yesterday. But today it was different. Today I would have to kill.
"You have to drink even if you don't want to, but don't worry, you won't have to kill anyone yet."
I exhaled audibly. At least something…
"You're going to kill a bear," he said like it was the most normal thing in the world."A BEAR ???"
Edward nodded.
"How should I do that ?!"
"You're a vampire. You can do that. But first try to find one."
I took a deep breath and took in the smells of the surroundings. Everything was just no bear here. At random I just ran off and checked the air every now and then for a promising smell. I felt like a real dog. But after half an hour I finally had the faint odor of a bear in my nose. I didn't know how I knew this was a bear. It was just a sudden inspiration that I followed. It wasn't long before I heard the animal's dull, lazy heartbeat. I followed the sound as my thirst grew stronger by the minute. Edward stayed close to me and I could tell by the look on his face that I was on the right track. I was very close now, I could feel it, my heart was racing, I could hardly wait to bang my teeth in the animal's neck. But I had to pull myself together as quietly as possible, I crept closer.
THERE! Now I had finally seen him. He found his way lazily through the undergrowth, he hadn't noticed me yet. I crept closer to him, he stopped and raised his head in alarm. Did he notice me? I was only 5 paces away from him. If I didn't do anything now, he might flee. I jumped out from behind the tree and lunged at him, after a few seconds I had knocked him down and smacked my teeth into his throat. The blood just spurted out. I greedily drank the blood that spurted out. The bear stopped struggling and I heard his heartbeat weaken. When the last faint knock had subsided, I let it go and walked over to Edward. The fresh blood rushed through my body, intoxicated with the blood I wanted to drink more. Only slowly did I realize that I had just killed to quench my thirst and I was shocked to find that I would have no problem doing the same with a person.“You made up your mind to become a vampire, it is in your nature to kill.” Edward's voice tore me from my thoughts. Why did he always seem to know what I was thinking? Could he read minds? Was there really such a thing as the dark gift?
"Yes there are. And yes I can read minds, but only yours." Edward confirmed my suspicions.
"Why only mine?" I wanted to know.
"Because I drank your blood and you drank mine. During the transformation, a connection was created between us that enables me to read your thoughts."
"And why?"
"I suppose this is intended as protection for the young vampire. If you are in danger I can come to your aid."
"What else could be dangerous to a vampire besides the sunlight?"
"There is more to it than you might think. Werewolves, for example."
"Werewolves?"
"Yes. And they are probably more of a threat to you than to anyone else in our clan," Edward replied."But I'll explain that to you on the way, we have to go slowly otherwise you have to sleep in a hole again" he grinned.
That was a very convincing argument. Edward started walking and I rushed after him.
"Ever since the war between werewolves and vampires broke out," Edward began to explain, "vampires have formed clans. Usually we lived solitary because a vampire has almost no enemies. But the werewolves began to reproduce faster and more They killed far more than in the years before and thus also destroyed our food source. When some werewolves became so powerful that they could show themselves in their wolf form even without the full moon, the murders finally became too much. In a conversation with the werewolves Some vampires tried to make it clear to them that it couldn't go on like this, but it didn't get any better, on the contrary, some people survived the attacks badly injured and eventually became werewolves themselves.Since their creators often did not even know of their existence, these werewolves lived without affiliation to a pack and had no one to help them keep their lust for murder under control. That is why they killed even more than their fellows and so we were forced to intervene. We began to go to the larger packs on full moon nights and involved them in fights so that they had no way of attacking the humans. But it did not take long before both sides had the first deaths to complain about and the situation got out of hand. From this the war finally developed. "
"But why are they more dangerous for me than for the others?" I wanted to know.
"Because I belong to those vampires who have to defend the clan in the event of an attack and you are my student."
I stared at him. "I'm supposed to kill werewolves?"
"You have to. Otherwise they'll kill you. But as soon as your training is completed, you have less to fear from them than the others.Their abilities wither because they sit at home and allow themselves to be protected. If they are attacked they have no chance. But you will know how to defend yourself in just a few weeks. "
For the next few hours we walked side by side in silence, the forest grew lighter, and soon the deciduous trees gave way to mostly conifers. The path became steeper and the vegetation around us became more and more sparse. After another hour or so, we were finally in the mountains. We followed a narrow path that went up steeply until Edward continued off the path. For people this "path" was probably not passable at all and I also had my problems with keeping up with Edward until he stopped in front of a rock wall. "We have to get up here. Then we're here," Edward said. Edward started climbing up on her and I followed him. We were already at a dizzying height when Edward climbed a ledge and squeezed through a narrow hole in the rock face."This is the entrance." he said to me. After we crawled a bit through the narrow passage, it got wider and higher. We walked down the steep corridor, I could already see the light at the end of the corridor. Finally we went outside again. Two vampires stood guard near the exit of the cave. When they recognized Edward, they lowered their guns and let us through. We were on a rocky plateau from which you could see the entire forest. Surrounded by a high wall was a gigantic fortress, the entrance of which was guarded by 4 vampires. On the edge of the plateau I could see several watchtowers, each occupied by two vampires. There was only bare rock around the fortress, but a few meters away I could see some trees again. There were a few windowless huts there.
"What do you do when the werewolves attack during the day?" I asked to Edward.
They won't do that. Even if they are no longer tied to the full moon, they are still tied to the night. And if you should try, we have them here. "He went to a hut and opened the door. A huge, gray wolf jumped out, growling. When he recognized who had opened the door, he fell silent and greeted his master." This is Ceredas. He was specially trained to defend against werewolves. Even when they are in their human form, he recognizes them by their smell. We have about thirty wolves left defending the fortress. Most of the people here have something against him because he doesn't let anyone in but me. I hate it when this Drake snoops around here. But he will accept you because you have my blood in you. "
"Who is Drake?" I wanted to know.
Edward inconspicuously pointed to a vampire who was just approaching us. He moved clumsily as a human and wasn't as beautiful as the other vampires here. The only thing he had in common with Edward was his pale skin. There was no elegance in the way he moved and he moved louder and more awkward than me, although I felt quite human next to Edward.Edward made hardly a sound as he walked and moved with such elegance that it appeared to be floating, but all of this was quite the opposite with the approaching vampire. If he had been human, one might have thought he moved normally, but for a vampire his movements were unusually wooden and stiff.
"He's something like the leader here. Draco would turn in his grave if he knew he'd succeeded him. Draco was one of the wisest and strongest vampires that ever lived. Drake descends from him, but the abilities of this ruling family Withered because they now have servants for everything. Finally Drake came out of it, he is the most ridiculous I have ever met, but no one has anything against his rule ... The vampires he created are just such freaks as he. They work as Whores to always draw new victims ashore so that the fine gentleman does not have to go hunting himself."The contempt in his voice could not be overheard. Drake joined us and Ceredas instantly flattened his ears, bared his teeth and let out a menacing growl. Drake took a step back in horror." Take it easy, Ceredas. Sit. "Edward said and the animal reacted immediately, but never took its eyes off Drake.
"Edward my dear," Drake began, "I think you know that you are not allowed to create a new vampire without my consent."
"And I think you Drake, you know that we had a lot of dead in the last werewolves attack and our clan has shrunk a lot."
"That's why I wanted to praise you. You made a good choice. She is pretty. She will make excellent bait.
"No." Edward said sharply.
"I beg your pardon?"
"You
