Vampir-Story
didn't take it seriously. I heard him mutter something that sounded like "just like Edward ..." and that was that. Even if I would be avoided for the next time, the whole thing had an advantage, because Tom believed he had finally found the right weapon for me. However, he didn't want to tell me anything more than that it would be a blow, stab and stabbing weapon at the same time.Tom said goodbye to me and apologized for quitting training so early, but he still had to think about the gun. I was pretty much at a loss what kind of weapon he could mean, but I have no choice but to wait ... It was still too early to go back to sleep and after I sat on the floor for a while and thought about what I could do. After all, my view of the watchtower was much greater. While it was unlikely that Edward would return now, I would definitely see him coming sooner from there. So I climbed the tower and left the whimpering Ceredas a few meters below me. The guard looked at me a little puzzled, but said nothing when I stood next to him and looked at the forest that lay below me. The trees swayed gently in the light wind and every now and then you could see a few birds gliding through the air. “Isn't it boring to stand up here all day?” I asked the guard.I recognized him as the young vampire who had already kept watch here when I was here for the first time.
"Somebody has to do it," sighed the guard, "I'm Cyron by the way," he added.
"Anna." I replied curtly.
"Yes, you are Edward's student, aren't you?"
"Yes" I confirmed.
"You can tell." he grinned.
"what why?" I asked in surprise.
"There aren't many vampires around here who would piss Drake's throat."
"Oh! Did you notice that ?!" I noticed how I blushed slightly.
"Sure! The tower is so high that I can see something like that."
"But you didn't intervene."
"No, there were 10 other vampires with Drake who could have intervened."
"So you don't particularly like him either, huh?"
"He's never given me a reason not to like him before. He's not a good leader for the clan, but I have nothing against him personally."
"Do you know where Edward was sent to?"
The guard's face darkened."I don't know for sure, but when the warriors of a clan are sent there is really only one explanation ..."
“They plan to attack us,” I finished.
Cyron nodded. "Last night we killed one of them at the narrow entrance to the cave. We do not know if he belonged to a larger group, but spies are seldom alone, and even if he was alone, they will disappear quickly and lead them to us. Edward and a few others were probably sent to find out how many werewolves are around and what pack yesterday's belonged to. "
We stood next to each other in silence and lost in thought for a while and I silently prayed that nothing would happen to Edward until Cereda's renewed whimper startled me out of my thoughts. More time must have passed than I had thought, because a narrow red stripe on the horizon heralded the approaching sunrise. Cyron looked just as surprised as I did, and he didn't seem to have noticed until just now that daybreak was already so close.I said goodbye to him and quickly climbed down the tower. I reached the hut pretty close to sunrise, but I was in my coffin on time.
The next morning, I immediately went to Tom's hut, I finally wanted to know what he had come up with for me. Ceredas followed me, as he had the night before, and did not leave my side. Tom wasn't there.
"Tom?"
"Over here!" the call apparently came from outside. I went around the house and found him in a shed. He was grinding something that I couldn't see because it was hidden by his body. I sat down on the floor and waited for him to finish. Ceredas sat down next to me and had his ears scratched. After a good 10 minutes, Tom turned to me.
“It's ready,” he said with a smile and handed me the gun.
It was a kunai to which a long wire rope was attached.
"It works like a sickle chain." explained Tom, Das Kunai, you can use to defend yourself in close combat or as a climbing aid, for digging, cutting, etc.You can use the wire rope well in long-range combat. It's so sharp that if you pull hard enough, it will cut bones into pieces. You can of course also use it to tie. The kunai weighs it down so that you can use it accurately even at long distances.
I looked at the gun in my hand. The wire was so thin that you could hardly see it, you could only see it flash briefly when some moonlight fell on it.
Following Tom's request, I tried the sôtto-shi, as he had called the weapon, on a tree trunk. I had my concerns about whether the wire would be stable enough, but Tom was right and the wire was divided into two halves. After a few hours of practice, I no longer had any problems using the weapon. The sôtto-kei-shi was really perfect. I spent the next few nights practicing the sôtto-kei-shi, but Tom warned me not to fixate too much on it and so I also practiced some other weapons and whenever I had time , I kept Cyron company on top of the tower.Tom was old and couldn't train with me every day, so I often practiced alone, but whenever Cyron found someone to take over his watch (which unfortunately didn't happen often) he would watch me correct me and a couple of times he would fight even with me. It was more fun to have another opponent in front of you every now and then, as I had become too fast for Tom and he hardly knew any tricks and traps that I couldn't see through. So the weeks went by, luckily Drake no longer dared to go near me since I owned the sôtto-shi. Once again I stood up at Cyron's tower and looked down at the forest, which was slowly turning brightly. The weeks had just flown by and there was still no news from Edward or any of the others, every day my concern for him grew and not a word from Cyrons could change that.
"Drake is interested in you," Cyron said suddenly, tearing me from my bleak thoughts.
I raised my eyebrows."Does he have that?"
"Did you never notice the way he looks at you?"
“I don't know how he's looking at me, I avoid looking at him,” I said, and my voice clearly showed my dislike for Drake.
"What do you have against him?" Cyron wanted to know.
"Drake is a degenerate beast who wouldn't hesitate for a second to sacrifice this whole clan to save his own life. You know I'm right Cyron."
“Maybe you are wrong about him.” He said again to me.
"If Drake were a good leader for this clan, he would have made some preparations for the attack long ago, he would have built up a defense or at least informed the others of this threatening situation! Even if he thinks that this castle is no longer secure anyway , he could at least have looked for accommodation for the clan in the territory of another clan! But he has not done anything yet! Edward and the others have already been away for 2 months and he has not even informed the clan that we may have been discovered, isn't it ?!If they have actually found us and attack, we have no chance! This will not be a fight but a bloodbath! How many fighting men do we have? 30? 50? And how many do they have? 200? 2000 ?! See it a cyron! If he doesn't do something soon we are all dead! When does he want to do something? What if the werewolves are here in front of the gate? Or maybe when Edward and the others come back? "I felt as if our situation was only getting really clear to me now that I said what I hadn't got out of my head for weeks." When they come back ... "I whispered and slumped to the floor, overwhelmed by the worry and tension that was going on for weeks now. Cyron didn't seem to be better for a moment, he stood there frozen and stared blankly, but then he sank down next to me and put his arm around me, I put my head on his shoulder and only now noticed that I was crying."He'll be back." Cyron sounded confident, and that comforted me a little, I knew Edward was one of the strongest, if not the strongest vampires in this clan, but I didn't know how strong the werewolves were or how many he met was. I didn't know how long we'd been sitting like this, minutes or hours, when Cyron got up and pulled me back to my feet.
"You're right, we can't wait for you to arrive, we have to react before it's too late."
He hurried down the tower, taking 2 rungs at a time, and suddenly made up my mind, I jumped down the tower and landed safely on my feet. With quick steps we approached the castle. Even Ceredas seemed to have sensed that something had changed. He ran ahead excitedly with his tail flapping wildly.
